Trader Joe's beauty items??????

Started 1355586247.923 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1355683081.767 by WestCoastGal

Finally going to visit the new Trader Joe's that opened near me last month. I know I have read suggestions about beauty items to try from there. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Spa Nourish shampoo and conditioner. I know a lot of ladies here like a cleanser from TJ's--maybe they'll respond. Plus they carry Jojoba oil, some nice soaps, etc. However, DO NOT overlook the food and special holiday goodies! (I'm sure you won't).

A lot of BBs seem to like the nourish face soap but I was personally not impressed. It was "fine" but not exciting for me. I like the jojoba oil for my legs. I'm curious to see what others like because the prices are excellent!

The coconut oil is great for hair skin and cooking.I think their wines are well priced and buy a lot of their nuts for the same reason.

TJ's facial cleanser (Nourish) has been discussed here many times. After I read your post I Googled trader joe's facial cleanser and read dozens of reviews -- both positive and negative. One site noted that the formula was developed by a dermatologist who sells his high-end cleanser for $50. (The author claims she knows him well.)

I haven't tried it myself, but I'd been thinking of looking at some of Trader Joe's beauty products on my next trip to the store. New year, maybe a new cleanser's in order.

Do you drink wine? Pick up a few bottles of their Charles Shaw wines. If you don't like it you can always cook with it.

Off the topic but I thought that you might like to know that Costco sells a wine by the case that is a better price and actually seems smoother than CS.......Costco brand is foxhollow.

Better than three bucks a bottle? I'll investigate immediately. Thank you for the tip. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I LOVE the organic wine, Green Fin, that they sell. And, um, it IS kind of a beauty product. After all, when someone else drinks a few glasses, I look more beautiful to them! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

The Trader Joe's organic petite syrah is wonderful too!

I do not like any of the beauty products from TJs I've tried.

I like the TJs soaps (I think there's Oatmeal and Lavender). I also like the Citrus Shampoo & Conditioner as well as the hand soaps. I think I also purchased my jojoba oil there at one point.

I tried the Nourish cleanser; it's a clear, lightly foaming cleanser that is similar in consistency to Purpose. I liked it but after a few days my skin got irritated and bumpy. Used it up as a body cleaner. The only other skin care I've tried from TJs are the Comodyne (sp?) cleansing wipes which I do like and they are much cheaper at TJs than other stores.

Try the shaving cream...It comes in mango (orange tube) and unscented (blue tube). It's a true cream, very moisturizing. If you're used to a foam, this may take some getting used to as it is very creamy. To tell you how much people love this stuff...a couple of years ago, they stopped making it. The outcry and demand was so drastic, they brought it back. Give it a try.

I like the Nourish cleanser a lot, but I do rotate it with others. I'm a big wine drinker and don't care for the Charles Shaw wine. IMO, it's one of those cases where you get what you pay for. But I know a lot of people like it.

I understand that they have great coconut oil and also shampoos. All you can do is try some items out and see if you like them.

I love their citrus body wash - lots of essential oils - and its a great summertime body wash. A real bargain priced around 5.00.

Tea tree tingle shampoo and conditioner. I use this conditioner as a conditioner only cleanser and it is amazing. The mango shave cream works very well and they sell a nourishing face wash that I read was formulated by a very well known derm and is similar to a very expensive cleanser.

really like the toothpaste! Fresh and minty and cruelty-free. Will be trying the shave cream soon as I have also heard great things about it.

I like their Mid Summer's Night Moisturizing Cream Extra Dry Formula. I use it on my hands and feet at night. It does a great job - absorbs quickly.

I like their Citrus shampoo and conditioner and their toothpaste. Not a beauty product, but their toilet paper is made without any chlorine bleach in the process.
