So Ladies, I am on the fence about the Tarte Smoldereyes and the Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. I really want something that will last awhile on the liner and a lash building Mascara. I am impressed by the product line being more of Natural product then Synthetic. I really value your ladies opinion. Thanks in advance and have a Blessed Day!

HI Peetie57!

I'm sitting here wearing both products you mentioned, and I love them both. I recently received them in a kit (glow your way to gorgeous) which was a Q TSV in summer 2011. I found it on the Tarte site....it is now listed at $49 (a steal),but they are offering 30% off right now on their site (so total less than $35 for all of it). You get a concealer (only avail. in medium right now), a LCL mascara, smoldereyespencil (in a plum/brown shade), a lipsurgence, an amazonian clay blush, a creme eyeshadow (in taupe), two brushes and a bag. Also included is a deluxe sample of the maracuja oil and a bronzer. I hope I remembered everything! I'm absolutely in love with this kit. Missed it on the Q, so glad to have gotten another shot (and much better price)!

I had reservations about the smoldereyes, as it is chubby and I prefer a very thin line on my upper lashes. Yet, it works very well and looks natural, yet defined and lasts all day. The LCL is my new fav. mascara (my previous favs. were Mally's volumizing and the Jordana one from Walgreen's). The LCL has a thinner brush so I feel like it "gets" more of my lashes.

If you want to try both, I recommend this kit since you'll get both for less than the price of them individually. Happy shopping!

Thank you so much for the quick reply! I am ready to shut down my office at 5:00 and wanted to respond to you. I think I will go ahead and order tomorrow. I'm hoping some more beauties will chime in and give their advice also. I don't write very much on this site, but, I REALLY enjoy reading the advice, opinions, and overall comments on especially Beauty products. I hope you have a very Merry CHRISTmas also. Thanks again! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

I received a sample of the lights, camera, etc. mascara and I thought that it made my lashes clump so I was not that impressed with it.

Love both. Have bought two sets of smolder eyes. One last year and one this year. I think LTC mascara is my favorite mascara. Both have staying power. Your have just a minute to adjust the smolder eyes and then it only comes off with an oil based cleanser.

I love the smoldereyes pencils but do not like the tarte mascaras, any of them.

Peetie57, if you are going to get the kit girl2010 suggested on the tarte site I would do it today and not tomorrow. The 30% off ends today! I purchased that kit as a TSV and love the taupe cream shadow in it. There are so many items to try and for a such a great price with the 30% off. I also love Tarte's amazonian clay waterproof liners. There is a new kit that includes five of them on the Q, item #A229199. They are thinner than the smoldereyes, but I like both. Hope you enjoy whatever you get.

I really like the smoldereyes pencils.The mascara is OK. The last one I got was in a kit. It must have been old as it was almost dried out. Threw it away. Will stick with L'Oreal Voluminous.It is less expensive and works as well as Tarte for me.

Tarte's mascara is not one I would repurchase, it clumps & I prefer a few drugstore Mascara's that work much better for thickening & volumne. The smolder eyes a just ok, I prefer UD pencils & recently discovered NYC waterproof liners that are awesome.

Good Morning to all. Thank you ladies so much for your input. Unfortunately, Caralou and girl2010, I was unable to take advantage of this discount on Tarte's website. Once I leave my office, I do not have Internet at home. But, that's ok, I really appreciate your offer. And also Caralou, I did look at this item# you suggested, but, the kit does not have a black liner and this is really the only color I use for my eyes. I have tried others, and it just doesn't work for me. I was planning on using the other colors in the Original kit I was looking at for shadows. Oh well, I'm not sure if I will take the plunge or not. I may just try the L'Oreal mascara and the NYC liner. It is soooooooooo confusing to figure out WHAT to use!! {#emotions_dlg.crying} There are just TO many choices out there. But, I guess that's the fun in all of it. Hope you ladies have a GREAT week-end.

Peetie57, I just got an email from Tarte and they extended the 30% off until the end of today! I am thinking you may be at work since you posted again this morning. Hopefully you will be able to take advantage of the sale. It said they added new sets too.

I am a huge Tarte fan, really from the beginning. Just in the past year tho, Ive been using more and more if their products. I havent had anything from them that I dont like actually. Ive only used LCL for several years and the smolder eyes are amazing. They really do stay put-amazing staying power. The AC blush is great too just incase you were wondering;). I have now bought 9 different holiday kits.
