cranberry oil vs tablets?

Started 1355501800.113 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1355587453.997 by Harpa

have had an awful mess with my skin. cranberry oil seems to greatly soothe my face. Now, shoud I consider taking the pills? believe me, been to doctor since months ago, (he's an internest, ooo) so he wants it to be fixed from the inside. meanwhile I'm losing my mind. I know, go diff. doctor,,,,,go derma.......been thru that so many years, don't want to touch there again. any thoughts?

Cranberry is supposed to be good for your urinary tract. It's got to be good otherwise, for antioxidant protection. But I don't know if it is touted at all to have a direct benefit for the skin. I guess in the long run it benefits...by flushing out the toxins & the antioxys.

Cranberry oil has high vitamin E content, and others love using this on their skin.

Hi misspammie!

The cranberry oil is made from the seed - it is actually cranberry seed oil and very healing and nourishing and moisturizing for the skin because of the type of Vit E it has in it.

The cranberry tablet would be from the cranberry fruit/berry and as Harpa mentioned is thought to be very beneficial for the urinary tract and has other benefits also. You can read about it if you go to Andrew Lessman's site at ProCaps - it's called Cranberry Benefits.

Also, I recently discovered another amazing fact about the cranberry seed oil - it has a perfect natural balance of the omega 3,6 & 9's plus other benefits. Swanson Vitamin Co has it in capsules to swallow as a dietary supplement (not put on the skin) - just go to the site and put in a search for cranberry seed oil and it will come up. I plan on ordering it as I have read about the many benefits and I don't like taking fish oil, but could never find the oil in a form that could be ingested until I looked at the Swanson site.

Anyway, always consult a dr for any "ailments", but just thought I would let you know what I found in my research, for what it is worth!

A supplement like Biosil is excellent for skin, worked wonders on my nails too. Can also try taking 5000 mcg plain Biotin.

misspammie, if your skin is responding nicely to the cranberry seed oil, then stick with that. Topical vitamin E is healing.
