Which hairstyle do MEN find most attractive on women??

Started 1340766735.13 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1340886409.017 by anonomisss

Was recently reading the threads on here and other sites about Lisa's bun style updo on PM Style this past week. Most people didn't care for it and thought it made her look older. I agree with those reviews. Although, it looked decent I just didn't care for it on Lisa. It was too dressy and too severe looking for her. It aged her face a lot. What happened to all those times LR would complain and say she never shows off her forehead because it was so large and resembled an airplane runway (her words). Probably just Lisa fishing for compliments again.

Anyway, it got me to thinking most men don't seem to care for women who wear updo's. What hairstyle do you think men enjoy most on women? Straight, curly ... long, short??

What about hair color on women? Do the men in your life have a preference??

Just a fun topic!

My husband's vote is for a plain old ponytail.

I've known men who have broken off relationships with women who have cut their hair. Better-half is a strange bird: He actually likes my hair "short and spunky." Unfortunately, my hair is currently halfway down my back because I want to donate as much as I can before I go grey and can't donate again.

He would prefer that I donate as quickly as possible and get back to normal: Short and simple. Between my hair and the dog's hair, I suspect he's a bit overwhelmed.

Anyone know of an effective vacuum cleaner out there? {#emotions_dlg.blushing}

My philosophy: Dogs are God's most perfect creatures. Angels, here on Earth, who teach us to be better human beings.

Gee Whiz sparklestar, this is just a fun, mindless topic. Why the attitude?

Besides some of us do care what the men in our lives think of us and try to impress them with our appearances. I'm proud to say I turn heads with all kinds of men. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} They give great compliments all the time and I love their honesty!

I second that. Please yourself first as the man may not last!

ITA!...if he only cares about you because of your hair, then the relationship is superficial and won't last anyway.

If you don't want to play, that's fine, but don't bring your Debbie-downerism to an otherwise fun post. GEEZ!

My huz likes ponytails and long hair (down). He used to like brunettes but I've taught him to like red hair (mine is red).

My DH likes shorter hair, like a classy bob, and definitely no gray! I keep threatening to let mine grow out because I am tired of paying the outrageous salon pricing but he goes nurpts when the grays start coming in.,

And we're having fun with our responses! What if a woman marries a man for his hair...and he goes bald? Can that be in the prenup? It works both ways, ya know? GEEZ!

Well, I do tell my husband all the time, that if he goes bald, it's over because he doesn't have a good head shape for the bald look! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I just noticed the "hair color" portion of OP's post...my husband prefers blondes! I am a brunette now and a natural brunette, but I was a blonde when we met. He also prefers long hair, but my hair was very, very short when we met. I consider it a trade-off, color for length.

I don't think i spoiled your fun. Five words is all I said. You could just ignore it then ... carry on. I'll think twice before I respond.

I have no need to impress men. I'm glad you're proud of yourself. Whatever you live for.

I think in general, men tend to like longer, lighter hair. From what I understand, it has to do with reproduction and what best represents youth and fertility in a female. When we're younger, our hair is usually fuller and lighter (most of us get darker, thinner hair as we grow older). Men are attracted to that because it says to them (subconsciously) that the female is healthy and ripe for reproduction. I think that's how the "long-haired blonde" came to represent s*xiness. I'm sure there are some who disagree with this, but I'm just relating what I've heard/read about the topic.

What's wrong if Lisa looked older?

Young men, 20's, definately prefer long hair. They believe short-haired women look like men.

Older guys, usually not so heavily influenced by internet p0rn, have a "type" in mind, a girl they fell for when they were young, like Cheryl Tiegs or Kathy Ireland.

Then there are the dinosaurs who like either:

Mary Ann: longer brown hair, cute smile, no makeup.

Movie Star: Blonde (bottle or real) LOTS of makeup, slinky outfits, red lipstick, long red nails, high heels, nylons.

Reminds me of the 80s...long...not flowy...and if a guy put his hand in it, he wasn't getting it back too easily! lol

Some of it is regional, isn't it? Seems to me that EVERY Southern gal has long hair. And I've noticed that more women in the New York City area seem to have short hair.

My hunch is that men don't like a severe look--whether the hair is long or short. If long and in a rather tight updo or bun, nix on that. And if short and severe, nix on that, too. Short can be very nice if it has some body and some wave to it. Looks softer and not like an old schoolmarm.

Just my opinion!
