Am I too old for orange nail polish???

Started 1334181204.503 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1334415045.52 by Madisson

I am 55 years old and tried hard to resist but they had Wet N Wild Shine for .69 cents each. I can't say I'm an orange color lover but I really like this one and for 69 cents I figure what the heck. Also got one in a pretty pink. And the cashier gave me several samples and Oh, the Garnier BB cream is on sale for $9.99 and the cashier took $2 off that for me.

Do not judge me by my past...I'm not in the past anymore. Accept me for who I am because this is me TODAY.

You are not too old...now it's not neon orange right??? It's a pretty citrus orange...go for it.

Citrus colors are in! I am wearing A Roll in the Hague by OPI. It's a very bright orange. Wear it. It's cheerful. I see people of all ages wearing green, black, grey and blue. I think orange is a pretty normal color.

What do your hands and nails look like? Are they both in excellent shape? Are you a working professional woman?

Unless you dress casually all the time and have perfect hands, I say no. Maybe for the toes if you have great feet...

No----if Joan Rivers can wear blue polish on her fingernails than you certainly can wear orange. I would wear the wildest color polish on my toes as my fingernails are terrible right now.

If at the same age I can wear citrus orange denim then you're certainly ok.My daughters got me the denim, said I needed brighter colors and you know how critical they can be.

As a cool-toned, fair blonde orange is about the worst possible color of all on me so I dont wear anything in the orange family at all, but if it's a good color for you I'd say go for it on -your toes ! It's not a color I'd ever wear on fingernails (and couldn't because of having a very professional job setting).

Nope. You can totally rock it.

Feeling pretty good. Been able to dress by myself for about a week even tho it takes twice the time. At night my arm is "tired feeling" and hubs usually helps me undress. He said he'd rather do that than dress me...a guy thing. {#emotions_dlg.lol} I can't lift my arm hardly at all and probly never will but the pain is going away and that is all I care about.

I'm thinking of doing my tootsies in the pink polish I bought, if I can get my arm to work for me.

Glad ya'll don't think I'm too old. My hands look really good for their age and I certainly don't feel old.

The question is...do YOU think YOU are too old for orange nail polish???

If the answer is YES and you think you are trying too hard, then don't wear it.

If the answer is "heck no!!!" and you think you can rock it, ENJOY!!!

NO, not too old. Exactly what is too old? I'd like to know because I have never heard of the age thing when it came to finger nail polish colors except if it was an infant or small child. If that is the case then I should have been judging women and advising them against certain nail colors years ago.

I'm treating the wild nail colors and designs the same way as the bright color pants. Not doing it. I don't care if every other woman around me does, I'm not. I dress in a fun way, but no trends.

Let me know if you suddenly become interesting.

I hope not...I'm 61 and routinely use tangerine polish on my toes....hands always get a lighter finish unless my nails are grown out....

55 is NOT too old to wear any color of polish....wear what you love!

In a word: No.

It'll be the best sixty-nine cents you ever spent. Enjoy.

Yay! I'm glad to see you have already decided you are not too old for orange nail polish. I just wanted to say I might have the same polish - it was 99 cents when I got it a few years ago, but I think I just saw it on sale. Anyway, if it's the same one, it is not bright or neon at all, it's kind of a pinkish orange and very pretty.

I hope you enjoy wearing it and don't even worry about what others think about it.

I am so glad to hear you are starting to feel better.

I'm 52, and I took some orange off yesterday, today I'm wearing eggplant. I had a little hard time getting used to seeing orange on my fingers, but I do like it, and I also have the wet n wild one you are talking about , really like that one. I am much braver to try fingernail polish colors than makeup colors. I say, if you like it, wear it.

I don't think anyone can be too old for orange, especially if you get one that is flattering to your skin tone.

Nope, I do not think you are too old to wear a bright color on your nails. I am wearing'For Audrey, by China glaze, on my nails ( the color of a Tiffany box) and I love it. It's very pretty, Robin's egg blue.... :)
