Hi Bobbisue, I wish you luck here, I will be glad to drop by from time to time! Anything special you want to discuss?

Hi Hooty! I think we should start off discussing Easter plans. Anyone buy something new to wear, what meal do you have planned, do you decorate, etc.?

I'm in the middle of packing for a move, so I'm hoping to have a meal with my family in Dallas.....no pressure on me.Smile I haven't bought anything new to wear because I have a cute dress I bought at the end of last Spring and haven't worn, so I will make use of it this year.

Bobbiesue, will you be sharing a Easter meal with your DS & DGS?

Bobbisue, you should post on the old 60's thread that you have started this thread in case anyone from there wants to join in here. Just a suggestion............

10grands, I love you and your sense of humor! I'll soon be too old to post here too, but I'm not going to let age stop me.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Bobbiesue - Count me in!! You know how I love to "chat"!!

Puddles - Very nice to meet you. Sounds like you are going to have a "busy" Easter! I am planning on having two dinners....one on Holy Saturday afternoon, and a less formal one on Easter Sunday. I have two sons, and a DIL, and they will all be here for Easter. That in itself makes me happy, as the two sons are rarely home at the same time. I've been ill tha past few Easter's, but I am FINE this year.....and hope to cook, cook, bake, and enjoy!!!

So glad Bobbiesue started this thread....hope to meet new friends, and hope the "old" ones return!!

10grands, We would love to have you here. you're just the right age.

My son has plans for Easter so I will be having luch with some ladies at the nursing home where I worked for over 20 years. There are ladies who have no family and the nursing home invites me to set with the ladies and have dinner with them. It's very nice. I do this on holidays sometimes.

I'll fix a ham here and the rest of the meal for me to eat later and prepare other meals with the leftovers before I go to the nursing home. What are you fixing?

I will go to the old thread and leave a message that I started a new thread. I hope our old friends will come and share. They are such nice ladies.

I bought the Susan Graver 2 dress TSV a few days ago in blue. I bought a yellow shrug to wear with it. I plan to wear the sleeveless blue geometric print

with the shrug for Easter. No hat. I love hats, but know one around here wears hats. I look good in hats too.

Thanks for posting you dear ladies. Hope to see you back and talk and chat about whatever is on your mind. I'm getting a perm next week and a cut and style. It's a body perm.

Talk to you later. Sorry I messed up the post trying to make a correction. It does get better, ha.

Spammom, it is very nice to meet you too. I was one of the original posters on the old 60's thread and it will be nice to get to know you. How lovely that your family will be together for Easter, and that's wonderful news that you are well and looking forward to the holiday this year.

Bobbisue, that's nice that you will be sharing Easter with your friends at the Nursing Home. We most always have ham for Easter......I love ham! Your outfit sounds lovely.

Hello ladies, Another member jumping on this 60+ post. Bobbisue, I'm also a nurse -- we probably have hundreds, maybe thousands, of stories!!

No special plans for Easter. Just hope its nice weather everywhere that they have Easter egg hunts for the kids.

Looking forward to low key discussions and exchanges of ideas on any, and all topics. How about we all agree to be allowed to disagree without the nastiness from some of the other threads?

Day 2 Day, Welcome. We don't do nasty here. We are just women who want to meet new and old friends and chat about lots of topics. We like food topics, clothes, skin and hair and make-up and of course our furbabies. We become friends fast.

Yes, I am a former nurse retired. I loved being a nurse. I miss it. I was a geriatric nurse.

Again, welcome and jump in anytime.

Thanks for the "welcome". Also retired - Ahhhhhhh!!! Miss the staff I worked with, the patients I cared for, and even some of the doctors! Sold my condo, and moved south. Everyone should be able to enjoy their retirement, and sadly many don't.

Speaking of Easter, just got back from Walmart where I bought DGD some Easter candy, a little children's book titled "The Story of Easter", and a cute little tee with two bunnies on it, one with a pink Princess crown and the other with a purple bow, so cute! She is everthing about being a Princess!Smile

Spammom, I read on another thread where you are adopting a new doggie! What have you decided to name it? Congrats to you, pets give so much unconditional love!Smile

Nice to meet you DaytoDay! You will enjoy posting with these ladies.

Hooty, gotta love a GD who already knows she's a princess.Smile

Bobbiesue, you've done a good job here and you are well on your way to forming a nice group of ladies to share with. If I don't see you on this thread for a few days, not to worry, I'm just very busy.

I have not thought about Easter yet, no, I do not decorate. I do think it is time to take my snowmen down though. My family is always casual, no dressing up. Many in the family dress up every day for work, and when we are together as a family, just enjoy each other.

Hi Hooty, Left New England, and settled in central Florida. No more snow... but, boy... the summers are HOT!!!

Greetings everyone. I cannot get to sleep so decided to check out the boards and found this new site. Thanks for starting it, BOBBISUE. I am a retired R.N., has now been 10 years and it doesn't seem possible. What with all the expectations, etc. that are placed on nurses by administrative people these days, I am glad I am not in that kind of environment anymore. I do miss some of the people with whom I worked as well as the patients.

To those new to this group, one thing I do like to do is share what I am reading and like to know what others are reading. So many books, so little time! I am currently reading OUTRAGE by Robert Tannenbaum. Very hard to put down.

Well, I have to be at my Book Club meeting at 10 a.m. so need to try one more time to get comfortable and get some sleep. Should be an interesting meeting because the selection was CATCH 22 by Joseph Heller and the leader of the group said that many of us just could not get into the book. I made it through about 60 pages and just couldn't read anymore.

I do hope everyone is comfortable and cozy in their beds getting a good night's sleep. I may not be able to post everyday, but I will when I can.

Spamom and Jetsmom thank you friends for posting here. We'll see where this thread takes us. If we can get enough posters to post, we'll be fine. Let's hope for the best. The beauty forum is a fast paced board. Maybe I should have posted this on Among Friends, but we'll see how it goes.

It is to be 65* here today. Spring has Sprung. Can't wait to get my dresses from the Susan Graver TSV. Very cute.

Thanks to all who have posted. Let's get a conversation going about whatever is on your mind. Whose first?
