Maracuja Oil (8 oz. organic $19.99 + free s/h) much cheaper than TARTE!

Hi Beauties - For those of you who are enjoying your tarte maracuja oil, and/or are curious about this product, I wanted to report back on my experience with GrassHut Treasures.

I just received my organic maracuja oil, and I could not be more pleased!! The product was packaged very well in a USPS priority mail envelope with padding inside - no drops or leaks at all. It comes in a GORGEOUS dark, emerald green container with a silver cap. From an aesthetic perspective, it's something I'd leave out on my vanity counter.

This oil is amazing! It's much lighter than olive or jojoba oil and has a very faint, slightly nutty/fruity smell that dissapates quickly after it's been applied. I used about two teaspoons on my thin, baby fine hair that's halfway down my back, and massaged it through from mid-shaft to the ends. I love that it's much lighter than first-pressed olive, jojoba or sweet almond, which I sometimes use on my hair and skin. After rubbing it through, I was still able to snap my fingers. It's totally non-greasy and absorbs so well!!

Before going to bed, I used a generous amount on my face and neck, about half a teaspoon, and I thought I'd really overdone it. Nope! It absorbed very quickly and my skin felt like it could still freely breathe (unlike when I slather on olive or jojoba oil, and it takes a few mins to absorb.) This am my skin feels nourished and hydrated. I could not be more pleased!

I cleansed with WEN this am, and my hair feels much more silky and hydrated. I am so excited to have such a HUGE bottle for $19.99 + free shipping! If you are interested, here's the link: http://www.grasshuttreasures.com/amazonoils.html

Cerinthe also left a wonderfully descriptive review as she ordered from GrassHut Treasures the same day I did.

Grasshut Treasures posted a very nice testimonial from Perricone's office about an acai product.

I am over the moon with my organic maracuja oil!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Thanks, I just ordered this along with the Andiroba oil which I have read about. This is a really good value with free shipping. I hope it ships fast.

I do like my oil so far! Also, the bottle it comes in is plastic, so it ships well.

We did have a glitch where our orders were labeled for shipment the day after we ordered (2/22 I think,) and then not shipped until 3/4. I then got it (west coast) on 3/7. Not sure why they just seemed to sit for a week or so, but once shipped, they got here very fast.

I will post back with more of my response to the oil once I really trial it with my other oils. So far, so good!

Is the Acai Oil and essential oil? That one's very expensive!!!!

I think I'm gonna give the Maracuja oil a try. I'm loveing all the different oils and didn't wanna pay the price for Tarte's fancy packaging altho I thought it was very pretty.

Hi Deb0360 - I think Tarte's packaging was very pretty, but I agree that the most expensive part is the bottle. LOL I think the bottle from Grasshut Treasures is very pretty, too, actually. I hope you will enjoy!

Thanks for the info Karena. But, Ok. So let me get this right. So, this is the same Marajuca Oil that Tarte is offering for $40+ that comes in 1.7 oz? and you get 8 oz of the same Marajca Oil from Grass Hut Treasures for $19.99 w/o S&H? I am trying to figure out what the catch is? Thanks for your help! I will have to check this out.

Can this be used on acne prone skin?

I haven't opened my Tarte sample yet. When you use this on your face at night, is it the only product you use or do you use your retinol item first and night cream after. I thought no creams were needed when you use this. (Maybe there are directions I should read.) Ordered from GrassHut today.

I used it once before applying the foundation. I thought I read everything, but must have missed the part about using it at night. I read the small leaflet again...it doesn't say when to use it; maybe the full size bottle states when to use it. I use Buzz On Acne and would like to incorporate an anti-aging product that would help make my skin look even better.

Hi NickiML- There are no instructions that come with using the 8 oz. oil from Grass Hut Treasures. You can use it how you would use any beauty oil. I apply it on top of my serums and treatment products at night, as the final step. Of course, you can use it in place of your moisturizer at night, in the morning, before make-up - whenever! I hope you will enjoy the oi! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Thanks, Karena. The sample I used is Tarte's maracuja oil. I put it on again tonight. I'm interested in the oil from Grass Hut Treasures, just not sure if it is o.k. to use on acne prone skin.

I ordered it. Thanks, Karena, for the info. I'm basically oil obsessed, and got the sample with my Tarte TSV and like it very well, so figured this one was worth a shot.

I read all the posts about the Grass Hut Treasures Maracuja Oil, so I just ordered it on a whim, not knowing any more than what I just read on here. But it sounds great and 19.99 for 8oz is an amazing deal. I hope it's as good as you all say! I guess I'll find out soon ..... Thanks for the tip, ladies!

I'm going to order a bottle even though it looks like the price has been raised up to 29.99.

Thanks for the link Lyn. I posted about buying oils from reliable sources many times rather than payng what the Q charges. I buy most of my oils from camden-grey but will give this site a try after I try the sample from the Tarte sample.

I ordered the Tarte version - the bottle is pretty. THEN, of course, I came and read that I could get 8oz for $19.99. Lovely... lol. I took advantage of the price and ordered the large bottle. It will be interesting to see if there is any difference in the two oils. I figure that I if I love it I can refill my pretty Tarte bottle and keep it in the cabinet with the rest of my face products. Since the large size was so inexpensive it might be really nice to use as a massage oil as well. It's supposed to have relaxing and anti-depressant qualitys and I think this would really add to the experience. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Before I bought the Tarte version I did find the oil cheaper elsewhere but I have never heard about this particular company I found and they had all kinds of shipping and handling fees etc. Once a company starts nickle and diming etc. I dont' even want to bother with them. I'm glad that you all have had good experiences with Grass Hut Treasures.

I'll try to do a comparison review after I've used the two different oils for a while.

They must have fixed their website because the $19.99 price is nowhere to be found on the website. :-(
