That's interesting! Only when they say "lift" for the eyes I think of the lid, but this was for tightening under the eye. Still, it's an interesting idea.

Did you try it?

Dharma I don't have the ingredients on hand but a friend does. She is going to give it a try. They said it was cheap, and also that it can be used on the upper eye area. Cheaper than eye creams!

I have generic allergy medicine and I think that's what it is. Maybe I'll try it over the weekend. I'd hate to do it tonight and wake up with a major reaction of any kind, then have to go to work. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Is this what Sudafed is made out of? Need to try this, where do I buy it, if it's not like Sudafed.

It is Sudafed, but it's not available right in the main store .... you have to go to the pharmacy counter and ask for it, and then sign a book. It is one of the ingredients that folks would use to make meth. with and so they had to take it off the regular lines. It is not an allergy medicine - it's a decongestant.

I think they said a liquid form was available. Thanks for the tip about asking for it at the pharmacy, I was looking at preparations like Dimetapp, too, and didn't know how to deal with the cherry and grape flavors!

The GABA they said they also mixed with it is a supplement. It's cheap at about $12 for 200 capsules. You can just open them and use the powder inside. Going to try it. You can get generic sudafed cheap too. Just use a mortar and pestle to grind it up if you have one, or a ziplock back with a towel over it and whack it with a hammer until ground up. Might even come in capsule form too.

I'm a bit confused about the GABA. Does anyone know where to get this and how much do you mix in with the sudafed and cream? (Man...the things we do!!!)

I am not sure what GABA cream is either but it said to mix 1/2 tsp of the cream with 1 ground up pseudoephredrine. Is the sudafed only with the Decogestant the one that works?

GABA = Gamma Amino Butyric Acid and is found in many wrinkle creams. You may already have something in your skin care stash that contains GABA.

You can probably just buy some GABA powder or capsules & put in the cream you use.

Yes, most vitamin sites and stores sell GABA in capsules.

This is what you do for the pseudoephedrine swirl. Go to a pharmacy and ask for pseudoephedrine. Most likely it will now be behind the counter since people use it to make illegal drugs. Next get a mortar and pestle ($10-20) and really grind up the tablet. Next ingredient you can add is GABA. This comes in a powder- how convenient. The powdered GABA is manufactured by "SOURCE NATURALS" approx ($16.00). GABA stands for Gamma-aminobutyric acid. Website is sourcenaturals.com. (Most likely you will find this in a natural food market. Pharmacies in my area did not carry it). I put in a pinch of the GABA. You can also find cream with GABA in them but I like to make my own, this way I know I am really getting the GABA. Make sure you grind up the psueudoephedrine tablet as fine as possible or you will have little particles under your eye. Next mix two ingredients into your favorite eye cream/cream. Mix thoroughly. Use it under your eyes, whole face and neck. I am a chemist so I love making my own products. Hope this helps everyone out there.

I was shocked when I felt how nicely it gave my skin a taught feeling.

I'm sorry, but I think he's a quack. I've read alot of his articles. Took some of them to my dr and nearly laughed himself silly. You can't believe everything you hear or read.

You don't need to buy a mortar and pestle. Save your $$ and use a bowl or kitchen utensil with a smooth flat surface. Place it over the pill and press down as hard as you can. Instand powder. Keep pressing and grinding to desired consistency.

I buy GABA in a powder filled capsule from vitacost dotcom. Very inexpensive. Funny that it should tighten skin since it is a natural neuro transmitter which sends relaxing messages. It was the model for the synthesis of Valium. Many take it for night time relaxation.

That is indeed interesting. The commercial creams that have GABA in them are usually for smoothing out expression lines because of the relaxing effect.

So probably what happens with mixing GABA and pseudoephedrine, is that the GABA relaxes the muscles and lines, and the pseudo tightens the skin.
