Why does Dr. Phil's wife, Robin go to his show every day?

Who's insecurity needs is this meeting? Honestly, I kind of like Robin, but find it so odd that she goes to his "work" every day. I doubt if she did this before he was on TV. What's up with this?

She's a spoiled, bored, housewife!

Well - she had better get a permanent seating arrangement from the studio. As long as people keep having problems and want to be on TV - Dr Phil is sure to have a job. I don't think I could muster enough patience to watch an entire show. Too depressing for me..

I was going to say.. a paycheck! Dr Phil is revolting, IMO.

They are a very devoted couple who are family oriented and he wanted his wife to sit in with him on his shows. There is nothing wrong with that. She is not a spoiled and bored housewife. Would you say that to her face?

I have been a member of these forums for years, but my name does not reflect that.

I'm sure she's on the payroll for a substantial sum...................

But just what does she do? Made up jobs. I think she doesn't want the Dr. to get hood-winked by some young producer on his show. She can keep an eye (or 2) on him. It's a different world now than the one they knew in Texas. This is just MHO...try not to rip my skin off!!

Don't watch him but probably seeing her in the audience keeps him from going off the rails.

Why wouldn't she go? Do you support your spouse? Do you go to events for your kids?

I'm not a frequent viewer of the show, but I will say that if I had the kind of money they do and I had no responsibilities at home (kids), I would love to go and support my husband and be a part of the show. She is often called on for her thoughts or opinions, so its not like she just sits there and watches all the time. I think his fans enjoy seeing the success of their relationship and partnership (whether its real or not). I love being with my husband and if I could be with him more- I would.

I think it's nice. She's lovely and seems sweet. I don't see a problem with it. They appear to have a very good marriage, and she just may be bored and want to be with him!

Insecurity

Wants the spotlight on HERSELF

Honestly, if she wasn't insecure and attention seeking, she could come (in reference to the above post that they're rich, why not see her dh working, etc.), but NOT be hogging the camera time, and certainly not doing that stupid walking out together in her stilettos that double her height.

You hit the nail on the head girl...she does it for the attention..."Oh look, there's Dr. Phil's wife, Robin, oh she's such a lucky woman to be married to him"...NOT.

What a load of bull that they walk off the set hand in hand with her talking and laughing and smiling up at him with adoration. I just know she's thinking to herself "jealous much ladies"?

Blech is what I have to say about all this...

She can o but why do we have to see her there? And then they walk off hand in hand every show. Just like Oprah they tape several shows a day so to walk off holding hands after every show is just so staged.

I say good for her being there. If she thinks enough of Dr Phil to want to be a part of the audience and he has no objection I say go for it. As for walking off the stage hand in hand together maybe if more couples showed more affection towards each other, more people would be happier in their marriages.

ITA. There's nothing wrong with supporting your DH. Maybe if more wives would be like Robin, there would be less divorce.

I think it's nice.

I think her clinging is a reason for some divorces! Men don't usually like helicopter wives....those who are so insecure about their men. And those who just HAVE to have the cameras on themselves, tho they have NOTHING to contribute to the show.

I have always felt she wanted some of the limelight like her husband. Fame is an addictive rush! If she wasn't on the show, who would know Robyn?

I think she's there, because she's told to be there by her DH!

Maybe he thinks of her as his Good Luck Charm... I am much that way... if something has been successful (and fun) don't change it... I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
