Cleaning BE Ready compacts

I am cleaning my makeup drawers and organizing them. Anyone have any hints re: cleaning the outside of those black compacts BE has for their Ready products? I like the goldtone ones as I can wipe them off but the black ones keep the smudges. I have wiped with Dawn liquid to no avail.

Wow I'm impressed. Never thought to clean the outside of Ready. I did just clean my brushes last week in Purity and they came out great, then on Monday I bought the new brush set.

You might try rubbing alcohol.
