Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Hope your Friday went well. Today Linus had his second day off so he went to the place to buy wine supplies, and bought corks, wine yeast, and a large can of blackberries for our next batch. I thought grapes, but he said there wasn't any grapes there, but I love blackberries too. We won't bottle until Lori is with us, she's sick right now with sinus. Last night during prayer together, in the Rosary, we made the decision that we won't be in the card club anymore. We don't think we'd miss it. He has to work those Monday nights when they have the play-offs. I went last year with my cousin, but it just wasn't the same, and I thought then - it doesn't pay if he can't be there with me. Everyone was asking about him then, it's always the first Monday of May. We've been in it for eleven years, ever since we moved here. We'll still play cards with friends, but not every month, and not be in the club. Should be relaxing. So that was peaceful knowing that was God's will, got the answer during prayer. Praying for all your needs, and those on the Prayer Thread.

Good is always coming to you. No matter what is happening in your life,
you can bless it with prayer and be peaceful. Lord, You give me the courage
to face any situation confidently and victoriously.
Scripture for the day:

"Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up
and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundred-fold." And
he said, 'Let anyone with ears to hear listen!'" ~Mark 4:8-9

Meditation for the day:

God's kingdom on earth is growing slowly, like a seed in the ground.
In the growth of God's kingdom there is always progress among the few
who are out ahead of the crowd. We can keep striving for something
better and there does not need to be stagnation in our lives. Eternal
life, abundant life can be ours for the seeking. We need not misspend
time over past failures. We can count the lessons learned from
failures as rungs upon the ladder of progress. We can press onward
toward the goal.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be willing to grow. I pray that I may keep stepping
up on the rungs of the ladder of life.

This Prayer to St. Joseph is over 1900 years old, from the "Pieta Prayer Booklet".
O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God,
I place in you all my interest and desires. O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful
intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below
your Heavenly power I may offer my Thanksgiving and Homage
to the Loving of Fathers.
O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep
in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes
near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss
His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return
the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.
St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.
Say for nine consecutive mornings for anything you may desire.
It has seldom been known to fail.

Mother Teresa Said...

Let us keep the joy of loving Jesus in our hearts. And let’s share that joy with everyone we meet. Passing on joy is something which is very natural. We have no reason for not being joyful, since Christ is with us.
Christ is in our hearts.

BIRDS AND WINGS
Author Unknown

An old legend says that God first created birds without wings.
Sometime later, God made wings and said to the birds, "Come, take up
these burdens and bear them." The birds hesitated at first, but soon
obeyed. They tried picking up the wings in their beaks, but found them
too heavy. Then they tried picking them up wit their claws, but found
them too large. Finally one of the birds managed to get the wings
hoisted onto its shoulders where it was possible to carry them.

To the amazement of the birds, before long the wings began to grow and
they soon had attached themselves to the bodies of the birds. One of
the birds began to flap his wings and others followed his example.
Shortly afterwards, one of the birds took off and began to soar in the
air above. What had once been a heavy burden now became the very thing
that enabled the birds to go where they could never go before...and at
the same time, truly fulfill the destiny of their creation. The duties
and responsibilities you count as burdens today may be part of God's
destiny for your life, the means by which your soul is lifted up and
prepared for eternity.

Don't be afraid of pressure. Remember that pressure is what turns a
lump of coal into a diamond.

You know the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance
must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not
lacking anything. James 1:3,4

- taken from the book "God's Little Devotional Book for Everyone"

Inspirational Thought
If hurts and hard feelings have come into your heart, make peace before you sleep. Lord, please forgive me as I forgive others and myself.

Worship Me only. Whatever occupies your mind the most becomes your god. Worries, if indulged, develop into idols. Anxiety gains a life of its own, parasitically infesting your mind. Break free from this bondage by affirming your trust in Me and refreshing yourself in My Presence. What goes on in your mind is invisible, undetectable to other people. But I read your thoughts continually, searching for evidence of trust in Me. I rejoice when your mind turns toward Me. Guard your thoughts diligently; good thought-choices will keep you close to Me.

He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
—Psalm 112:7

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
