Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! How was your day? Hope it was a blessing one and that you noticed all what God does for you day by day! Today - went to the lawyer's, for paperwork, listing Darla as POA - just getting things in order so that when we die the girls won't have to worry about probate. Little by little things are getting in order. My! are those lawyers expensive! But it had to get done. Our wine got put in fruit jars and we are drinking it. It was a large batch, but guess it's too watery, and Lori says it's not good enough to offer to company. I think I will, anyway! It's our first batch. Next will be cranberry apple. We will be more careful with the next batch. Wondering if I can use our blueberry/apple wine in cooking? Take care and God bless you all - may you receive answers to your prayers, all according to the perfect will of God.

When you can't fall asleep, spend the time talking with God and in prayer

you will soon be sleeping. Lord, next to Your heart, what a safe and

restful

place to sleep.

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

~Matthew 18:20

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

The spirit of God can come upon God's followers when they are all together

at one time, in one place, and with one accord. When two or three

consecrated souls are together at a meeting place, the spirit of God is

there to

help and guide them. Where any sincere group of people are together,

reverently seeking the help of God, God's power and God's spirit are there

to

inspire them.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may be in accord with the members of my group. I pray

that I may feel the strength of a consecrated group.

REAL FRIEND TEST

Author Unknown

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest. A real friend opens

your refrigerator and helps himself (and doesn't feel even the least

bit weird shutting your 'beer/Pepsi drawer' with her foot!)

A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend has shoulders

soggy from your tears..

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names. A real friend

has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A real friend

comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after they've gone to bed. A

real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems. A real

friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history. A real friend

could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an

argument. A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them. A real friend

expects to always be there for you!

Scripture Reflection by Patrick Carnevale

Today's readings 11/21/14

Rev.10:8-11; Ps.119:14, 24, 72, 103, 111, 131; Lk.19:45-48

There are all sorts of ways we can apply the "sweet and sour" imagery in our

first reading to our lives, there's no doubt that we've all experienced

relationships and situations where we've experienced these conflicting

emotions, but given the type of world we live in today it's made even more

extreme and obvious when dealing with matters of faith. That's because deep

down inside every human being is born with the desire to love and serve God,

unfortunately something as "sweet" as that desire can be "soured" by our

flawed human nature. That's made painfully clear in the ways certain people

commit some of the most heinous crimes imaginable against their fellow man

under the guise of serving God. These kinds of things are enough to "sour"

anyone's attitude, and I believe this is a major problem that we as

Christians face today. We can't allow world events, no matter how wick ed

they may be, to have a negative impact on the ways we apply God's Word to

how we live. The bottom line is as "sour" as the world may seem it still

belongs to God, and if it belongs to Him it's "sweetness" cannot be taken

away. Let's make sure our God-given "sweetness" isn't either.

God bless you,

In Jesus - Pat

HEALTH CHECK-UP BY GOD

Author Unknown

I went to the Lord's Clinic to have my routine check-up and I

confirmed I was ill.

When Jesus took my blood pressure, He saw I was low in tenderness.

When He read my temperature, the thermometer registered 40 degrees of

anxiety.

He ran an electrocardiogram and found that I needed several "love

bypasses" since my arteries were blocked with loneliness and could not

provide for an empty heart.

I went to orthopedics, because I could not walk by my brother's side

and I could not hug my friends, since I had fractured myself when

tripping with

envy.

He also found I was short-sighted, since I could not see beyond the

shortcomings of my brothers and sisters.

When I complained about deafness, the diagnostic was that I had sopped

listening to Jesus' voice talking to me on a daily basis.

For all of that, Jesus gave me a free consultation thanks to His

mercifulness, so my pledge is to, once I leave this clinic, only take

the natural remedies He prescribed through his words of truth:

* Every morning take a full glass of gratitude.

* When getting to work, take one spoon of peace.

* Every hour, take one pill of patience, one cup of brotherhood and

one glass of humility

* When getting home, take one dose of love

* When getting to bed, take two caplets of clear conscience

Do not give in to sadness or desperation for what you are going

through today.

God knows how you feel...

God knows exactly and with perfection what is being allowed to happen

to you in your life at this precise moment.

God's purpose for you is simply perfect.

He wants to show you things that only you can understand by living

what you are living, and by being in the place you are now.

May God give you...

* For every storm, a rainbow

* For every tear, a smile,

* For every care, a promise,

* And a blessing in each trial.

For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share,

For ever sigh, a sweet song,

And an answer for each prayer.

HE CARRIED ME

By Dennis Espineli Salcedo

I laid my head upon His breast

And felt a sudden storm of love

I placed my ears upon His chest

And heard the tapping of His heart

As He gently runs His fingers through my hair

I felt His love so tender and so true

Showing me how He really cares

Compassion flowing through and through

He touches like no any other

With healing in His hands

He comforts like a mother

He cares more than a friend

And then I looked into His eyes

And saw the fire that floods my soul

His beautiful love that never dies

Could make me love Him even more

As I remember the memories we shared together

Streams of water filled my eyes

But He wiped my tears like a father

Telling me there's no need to cry

And once again I saw Him smiled at me

A smile that lights the sunshine on my face

His misty eyes that set a prisoner free

He is my hiding place

I genuflected to show respect

I bowed my head, my knees I bent

Then with His arms He wrapped my neck

And dearly kissed me on my head

He suddenly drew me closer to Him

In His arms I can feel the heat

Inside my soul there's a star glistening

He made my world complete

I felt an atmosphere of love

And heard Him whispered on my ear

His voice as sweet as the voice of a dove

Saying, "My son have no fear."

I placed my life upon His hands

He held my heart as tender as can be

And on His soft arms I rested

Then He gently carried me.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello To All!

I'm sure that you'll find a good use for that wine Gloria. Using it in cooking sounds good.

A cool morning for us here in So. California. At last. My blessings are many but I've recently chatted with a woman who was a delight to get to know. I feel she will be a nice acquaintance that I can touch bases with now and then. Whatever good and warm 'vibes or energy' we give out, life seems to react to it. We've recently been adopted by another cat who has a charming personality. She belongs to a neighbor but prefers us. We won't keep her as she has a home but it's nice to know that a cat finds us good folks with a good home.

I remember all in my daily thanks and meditative prayers. I give thanks for this nation, her people, her allies, her strength, her resilience, her generosity, and her many gifts. We are a very blessed nation. Be at peace within. Know you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello everyone,

Happy Saturday to all! "From the rising of the sun to its going down the LORD'S name is to be praised." Psalm 113:3

Gloriajean, thank you for the kind words, and the prayers. Prayers continue for you and your loved ones.

Bluegrassbaby, thank you for your prayers. Please take that needed rest. Taking time to rest and taking care of ourselves, is just as important to God. Without our rest how can we feel valuable to others. Our Father wants us to have a balance life. Prayers for you and your loved ones.

(((Cakers1)))

Love Roses, hope your weekend is great. The kitty chose a great neighbor!

Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you, thank you for yours.

Until next time...

Take care, stay safe, and God bless!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Peace and blessings to all here today, and always. Prayers for all those trapped in heavy snow without power in NY and elsewhere.

Gloria, catching up here with Linus' condition. I'm deeply sorry to hear that he is still being troubled by these vertigo-like symptoms. I wonder at how his legs are being effected, and I'm sure it's all quite confusing for both of you. It was so inconsiderate that the neuro-surgeon's staff didn't call Linus to reschedule that appt, since he was detained in surgery. They should call back and offer a free consult -- I will pray they are moved to do so. I don't know how it works with Medicare... But with our insurance, once a diagnosis is made (like with the ear crystals), then PT is covered. I'll continue to hope and pray these symptoms can be managed, if not eliminated all together. Prayers for your strength through Christ as a family.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Blue - thanks for the very nice graphics, Where do you find them? Thanks for praying for us and all prayers are greatly appreciated! I agree that it's time you let go - Let God take care of your needs. Praying for that.

Love Roses - when I put the wine in the fridge, it tastes a lot better now, and how can it be watered down when it tastes strong? I dunno. Not the expert - yet!! Our Lord blessed you with a new acquaintance you can share with - someone who could become a friend. What a great blessing!! That kitty knows where it's a good place!! Enjoy it when you can! I bet your neighbor doesn't know she's sharing her cat with you!

Harlene - I may use it in some recipes, right now I don't know where to use it yet, any ideas? But after refridgerated, it tastes a lot better. Is your grape wine strong too?

Hi Joy - so far his legs are not the problem. Just some fuzzyness in his head sometimes. Today at work he said he was fine. Napping now. Very inconsiderate of that staff, I believe too. Well, his appt. was going to be on medicare anyway, but still. Time was important being he still needed to get to work yet that morning. PT is covered with Medicare after being referred to by a MD. And now he is. Thanks for your continued prayers. All the prayers help!
