Hello my friends! We went out tonight for supper to celebrate his brother's birthday at a restaurant he chose - quite a ways from here, about 45 miles. It sure was a busy day for Linus today - waiting over an hour at the Neurologist office - had to leave to get to work, so never had his appointment. Then leaving work a half hour early to get to our supper get-to-gether by 5:30. Home by eight. It was a blessing to see them all again, and a great blessing for good roads - no ice. Just an ordinary day for me - quiet and peaceful, took care of Ollie today - he was good. Tomorrow we have nothing except we host a couple for cards in the afternoon. He's off now until Saturday. I think he'll try to get an adjustment again in the morning. Hope you all have a great Thursday!! Praying for all your intentions. May God grant you all many blessings.
Daily Inspiration, Scripture, Meditation and Prayer
Faith is what lifts me to the level of possibility and opens the door to
God's promises. Lord, continue to strengthen my belief and bless me with
unyielding faith.
Scripture for the Day
"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light." — Matthew 11:28-30
Meditation for the Day
I can believe that fundamentally all is well. Good things can happen to me.
I believe that God cares for me and will provide for me. I need not try to
plan ahead. I know that the way will unfold, step by step. I can leave
tomorrow's burden to God, because God is the great burden-bearer. God only
expects me to carry my one-day's share.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may not try to carry the burden of the universe on my
shoulders. I pray that I may be satisfied to do my share each day.
Power of the Holy Name of Jesus
The name of Jesus is the shortest, the easiest, and the most powerful of
prayers. Everyone can say it, even in the midst of daily work. Our Lord
Himself has solemnly promised that whatever we ask the Father in His Name we
shall receive (provided, of course, that it be for His Glory and the good of
our soul).
Each time we pronounce the holy Name of Jesus with reverence and love,
and with proper intention, we give great glory to God and obtain for
ourselves priceless graces.
Each time we say JESUS, we may, in desire:
Make an act of perfect love, offering to God all the infinite love of
His Divine Son as if it were our own.
Offer the Passion and Death of Our Lord to the Eternal Father for His
greater glory and our own intentions.
Offer to God all the infinite merits and perfections of Jesus.
Offer all the Holy Masses said each day throughout the world, for the
glory of God and the good of our own and others' souls.
Each time we say JESUS, we increase in our souls the virtues of faith,
hope and charity. Our faith becomes more lively, our confidence in God
greater, and our love more intense.
The Holy Name of JESUS saves us from innumerable evils and dangers,
helps us to overcome temptations, and delivers us from the power of the
devil, who is constantly seeking to do us harm.
The Holy Name of JESUS fills our souls with peace and joy, and gives us
strength to bear our trials and sufferings with patience and resignation.
Each time we say JESUS, we can gain a partial indulgence which we may
apply to the souls in purgatory, thus relieving and liberating many of them
from their awful pains, and gaining for ourselves friends who will pray for
us with incredible fervor.
We ought, therefore, to try to acquire the habit of saying JESUS, JESUS,
JESUS, very often every day, with fervent love and devotion - when dressing,
when working - no matter what we are doing, in moments of sadness and in
moments of joy, at home, in company, on the street, when walking, riding or
waiting. We can say it countless times every day, and thus gain untold
graces and blessings for ourselves and for the whole world. Nothing is
easier, if only we do it with all our heart.
INVOCATION
O admirable Name of Jesus! Name most holy! to men most amiable! Name
above every name. No other name is given under heaven in which we can be
saved.
Jesus, honey in our mouth, melody to our ears, sweet jubilee to our
hearts! O Jesus! You are our life, You are our salvation, You are our
glory, to You be praise forever and ever. Amen

I've Wondered, Lord
I've wondered, Lord, how it can be
You hear me when I call?
I'm only one of millions, and
Your love is over all.
How can it be Your Holy ear
Is tuned to hear my cries?
How can You know what troubles me
And see tears in my eyes?
Do I presume too much when I
Approach Your sacred throne,
And dare to think that I can spend
Some time with You alone?
Sometimes I am so weary
I don't even want to pray.
I feel confused; things look wrong;
I don't know what to say.
In quietness and confidence,
I seek a place apart,
And rest until I feel Your Spirit
Touch my trembling heart.
Although I cannot understand,
Somehow, I know You've heard,
Like lovers who communicate
Without a single word.
You are so great! I am so small.
I'm glad it is this way.
All things are possible with You;
You hear me when I pray.
Great God of all the universe,
In joy or in distress,
I rest myself in all You are,
For you are limitless!

A child was asked the famous question, "What do you want to be when you
grow up?" He replied, "I want to be a retired missionary." Evidently, he had
seen the respect and recognition given to elderly servants of the Lord, but
probably had little appreciation for what had gone on before.
Paul had "pulled his duty" and was an older man when he wrote to young
Timothy, "make full proof of thy ministry." Paul was telling Timothy to do
what he had done, that is, to finish the course, to fulfill the job that God
had given.
Ministry is the activity of a servant. A servant has no will of his own,
he must surrender to the will of another. A servant of the Lord does not
seek to please men, but God (Galatians 1;10). He puts the work of Christ
above his own life (Philippians 2:3). He does not preach what people want to
hear, but what God's Word says (1 Thessalonians 2:4). And yet, he esteems
others better than himself (Philippians 2:3) and his life is lived so that
others may be edified (Romans 15:2.)
This challenge is not only for those who serve in official capacities in
the local church, it is for all believers. It was once said, "If you are not
totally lost in the cause of Christ, you have never begun to live; you have
only existed selfishly." All believers should take to heart the challenge
given to Archippus, "Take heed to the ministry that thou hast received in
the
Lord, that thou fulfill it" (Colossians 4:17)

The Building
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the
Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. Psalm 127:1
What great plans! We were so excited to have come up with what we thought
was going to be a really great plan.
When the first hitch happened, I thought, “Oh well, it’s just a little
problem. We can get past that/” Not long after, another fly in the ointment,
but we were not to be daunted. After all, we’d devised a super plan for the
program.
As you have no doubt surmised, it was not long before another glitch, and
then another. I felt as if we were treading water, or even worse, swimming
upstream against the current.
At some point, one of us realized we had not consulted God prior to trying
to implement this wonderful plan. We had asked Him to bless the project, and
to bless us as we undertook it. However we had not asked Him in on the
foundation and start of the venture.
The Bible says that if the Lord doesn’t ‘build the house, the laborers build
in vain.’ That whole thing was a lesson to us, and hopefully one learned so
as to not make the same mistake.
How awesome that God is willing and ready to help us, whenever we come back
or turn around and seek Him. That’s good news.

Gloria, was sorry to read the neurologist left Linus hanging yesterday. Awful. Prayers continue for him. Will he reschedule -- perhaps with a different neurologist?
Hello to all here, and may your day be blessed of Jesus.

Hello everyone,
So good to hear from everyone. Feeling a little under the weather here. Feel like I'm getting a cold. Last week at the store, so many people who came in were sneezing. Today I stopped at the grocery store, and a little boy must of sneezed 10 times, all I kept telling him "God bless you!" Just one way to let someone know about God. Today is a little warmer, and by the weekend they say will be at 70. I hope we don't have no tornados.
Gloriajean, sorry about Linus appt. Glad you had a good time last night. Keeping you and your loved ones in my prayers.
Bluegrassbaby and Lucy, thanks for the wonderful graphics.
Joy, yes, we must keep Cakers in our prayers, along with so many others.
"Hi!" Harlene, Love Roses, retRN, Bobbiesue, and all who are reading.
I admonish and urge tht petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men." 1 Timothy 2:1
When we pray, we speak to God. We listen and wait for Him to speak to us. Intercession, is simply praying for someone else. We cry out to God on their behalf. No matter what their needs are, we take it to Our Father in prayer.
Many people don't pray for themselves...some just don't know how, while some have no relationship with God, or maybe they are under stress, or they hurt so bad, that they just don't have the strength to pray.
There are people in our lives who needs prayers. Prayer cost nothing. So I encourage everyone to pray. Speak to God, and listen...wait to hear from Him on their behalf.
Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! May our hearts continue to pursue Our Lord Jesus Christ, Our Savior. Until next time...
Take care, stay safe, and God bless!

Nice graphics, Blue and Lucy! They brighten up our thread! Blue, one time when we used to belong to a Charismatic Prayer Meeting - there was a man there who had no where to go on Thanksgiving, and we had him come over for our Thanksgiving Dinner - he came, and we enjoyed having him - it was just that once when the girls were small, and after that he moved away. Your post reminded me of that time.
Joy - he got a card today saying the Dr. was at the hospital in an emergency. Why, then, we wonder why didn't they tell us that right away? He got adjusted by Dr. Mike today, and he doesn't think much of the PT - also we don't know if that will cover our insurance, Medicare is so fussy! He said his neck was quite warm, and at night he should ice it. He does help him alot with this.
Juanita - hope you don't get sick now - you are exposed to so much there!! Got some euchanacia - maybe not spelled correctly. Take Vit. C's. got to fight it! Praying for others - that's the way to go - and God's will for us. All interceding for one another - and along with the Saints in Heaven asking them to intercede for us too, for so many intentions.
