Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings first was a nice, sunny day, cards this afternoon with our card club, playing a couple - very nice people, beautiful home out in the country! We won the game today! They are both teachers, he's retired, she is part time. I hear there's snow where Darla lives! Bet she isn't happy about that!! She did say it was colder there lately, in the 40's last I talked to her. I'll try to call her tonight - she's hard to get a hold of. Anyone know of phone charges wear out? I have one that doesn't seem to charge anymore. Put it on another one, it's a very, s l o w one. My smart phone is Lori's old one, and it runs out of battery fast. Don't feel like talking much tonight - nothing to say except that remember you are all in my daily prayers for all your intentions, and thanks for caring and praying for us.

There is no real happiness without God and no peace when we separate

ourselves

from Him. Lord, You said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you".

I give you my troubled heart.

Scripture for the day:

"Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in

the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be

exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in

human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became

obedient to the point of death-- even death on a cross." ~Philippians 2:5-8

Meditation for the day:

Divine control and unquestioning obedience to God can lead to a good

spiritual life. Divine control means absolute faith and trust in God, a

belief that God is the intelligence and love that controls the universe.

Unquestioning obedience to God means living each day the way we believe God

wants us to live, constantly seeking the guidance of God in every situation

and being willing to do the right thing at all times.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may always be under God's control and practice unquestioning

obedience to God. I pray that I may be always ready to serve God.

Wisdom of the Saints

"God gave us faculties for our use; each of them will receive its proper

reward.

Then do not let us try to charm

them to sleep, but permit them to do

their work until divinely called to

something higher"

St. Teresa of Avila

"The things that we love tell

us what we are"

St.Thomas Aquinas

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy."

St. Francis of Assisi

"We will either accuse ourselves

or excuse ourselves."

St. John Vianney

"Preach the Gospel at all times.

If necessary, use words"

St. Francis

"The tongue is a small member,

but it does big things.

A religious who does not keep silence will never attain holiness;

that is, she will never become a saint"

St. Faustina

"I want my tongue to praise God

without cease. Great are the faults

committed by the tongue.

The soul will not attain sanctity

if it does not keep watch over its tongue"

St. Faustina

Happiness

They tell the story of the old dog who saw a puppy chasing its tail, and

asked: "Why are you chasing your tail?"

Said the puppy, "I have mastered philosophy." I have solved the problems of

the universe, which no dog before me had rightly solved.

I have learned that the best think for a dog is happiness. And happiness for

me is my tail. Therefore, I am chasing it. And when I catch it, I shall have

it."

Said the old dog: "my son, I also have paid attention to the problems of the

universe in a small way. And I, too, have formed some opinions. I, too, have

judged that happiness is a fine think for a dog; and that happiness is in my

tail. But I have noticed that when I chase my tail, it keeps running away

from me. But when I go about my business, my tail comes after me. And so

does happiness!"

WORTHLESS...PRICELESS

Author Unknown

"You are worth more than many sparrows." - Luke. 12: 7

I give my all to a project. Still, I fail. I strive to be holy. Yet,

I sin. I serve the Lord to the best that I can and for this I have been

persecuted, ridiculed, insulted, maligned, suspected, charged,

conspired against, ganged-on, crushed, chopped, ground, pulverized.

I am a loser. I am a worm. I am worthless.

Then, my son comes up to me and tells me, "You know, Dad, I'm

the luckiest boy in the world. Why? Because you're my Dad! You're a

good man, Dad! You're the best!

Then, my wife sits down with me and shares, "Love, Auntie just

called up to tell me that the best decision I made in life is to

marry you. And she's right. I can't imagine life without you."

Then, my mom calls me up and with a croaking, crying voice, she

whispers, "I love you. I'm so proud of you. You've made our family

whole and complete!"

Then, I close my eyes, shed a tear, and pray, "Thank you, God,

for making me a very, very important person."

I AM A WINNER. I AM LOVED. I AM PRICELESS!

The Great Physician

Welcome to the Great Physician

He's a Specialist in all problems

And His day is never done.

He can heal a heart that's broken

He can mend the spirit, too,

No matter what your ailment

He does have the cure for you.

His fee for service never alters

He serves rich and poor as well,

He's our one chance for Salvation,

He alone saves us from H ell.

There's no fee for services rendered

All He asks is that we believe,

That He bled and died to save us

And all His blessings we will receive.

Do you have a special problem

That is troubling you this hour?

The just simply leave it with Him

You can find no greater power.

Don't delay in seeking treatment

Please, my friend, don't hesitate,

For His office is soon closing

And He'll shut and lock the gate.

I wouldn't want you to suffer

While the Doctor's so close by,

Your whole life will be much better

If my Physician you will try.

Chamber of Prayer

Lord God take me there

Where You and I can share

Our innermost thoughts in prayer

With all my problems bare

For as I seek Your face

You lift me with Your grace

You surround me with Your light

And give me renewed sight

Lord God take me there

Where You and I can share

Your Kingdom yet to come

And the love we have for Your Son

The peace and calm You give

Almost seems unreal

Then I remember the place

You've brought me with Your grace

It is when You take me there

To that secret Chamber of Prayer

And expecting a miracle there

You show how much You care

Lord God gently lead me there

To that secret Chamber of Prayer

Shower me with Your fountain

Miracles in answered prayer

Today's readings 11/17/14

Rev.1:1-4, 2:1-5; Ps.1:1-4, 6; Lk.18:35-43 - by Patrick Carnevale

Like everything else in life it's very easy to lose a little bit of our

"spiritual zeal" so to speak, and that's probably why St.John's appeal to

the young church in Ephesus really gets our attention. Yes, before we're

even aware of it we often find ourselves "following the counsel" of people

who don't share the same convictions we do, and like our saint tells us

today we all need to "realize how far we have fallen and repent" as soon as

we see that. But like the blind man in today's Gospel we need to be able to

see that Truth, and the Only One who can give us that kind of "vision" is

the same One who "revealed these things that must happen" to St.John while

he was imprisoned on the island of Patmos. The primary reason our saint was

able to see these Truths was because he believed God wants all of us to be

able to "see" before it's too late, all because God wants to set us free

from those things that have blinded us from being able to find our way back

to Him when we've strayed. We all need to cry out "Lord, please let me see"

the same way that blind man did on the road to Jericho, and if we do so in

faith God will surely open our eyes the same way Jesus did for that poor man

so we will find our Way once again.

God bless you,

In Jesus - Pat

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello To All!

My blessings are many. I got some organizing done and have some items to donate pulled together. I had problems with my furnace but now it's fixed. I had some doubts about one or two things I had going on but my husband spoke some encouragement and wisdom to me. I am over that situation.

Take care all, Stay safe and warm, you are loved, be at peace.

Thanks RetRN - Do you know what happens at neurology appointment? Linus says it's just a consultation, no tests to be done? We don't know for sure. Anyone? Thanks for sharing and it's so true that it's wonderful to be able to share with each other and offer prayers. Corporate gives us this blessing.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello everyone,

Gloriajean, sorry can't help you about the neurology. But I do have Linus in my prayers. There are times that I just can't get here to post. Every time I turn around our bandwidth is eaten up...can't afford to up it.

Thank you for the grapic on forgiveness. I try my best to forgive everyone, and most times I forgive and that's the end of it. However I do sometimes have a reoccurring situation with a family member, you know the kind that something just sets it off. And then here I go again, feeling hurt, which leads to getting angry, and getting bitter.

Friends, I have come along way now...there are no excuses, I'm not the one to judge. I must trust God to be my Vindicator. Other words, quit complaining, Juanita, trust God and may God give me a loving attitude towards everyone.

Scripture says in Mark 11:24-25 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours." Verse 25 "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Wow! Am I looking for miracles, am I asking God for something to help me in my life...and it seems like I'm not getting it. Maybe, just maybe there is someone in my life, maybe it's someone in your life...that we just need to forgive.

May we all pray without any anger or bitterness in our hearts.

Love Roses, so good to hear from you. My furnace is acting up, it seems to have a mind of it's own. Lol! Keeping your friend in my prayers. May our Creator comfort her in a way that no one else can.

Harlene, that is good news about your back. Thank You Jesus! Prayers will continue and hope you will be painfree forever. Cold snap...lol! It's cold here.

RetRN, I hope you stay warm and also have a blessed day.

Lucy, the sun is out, the sky is blue, but it sure is cold here. Prayers continue for you and your loved ones.

Gloriajean, please let us keep HiLo, our friend Lois, in our prayers. I read that she isn't doing very good.

Joy, your truly an amazing woman. And I am honor to know you.

Until next time...

Take care stay safe, and may God bless you in a way that only He knows how.

Love ~ Juanita

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Gloria -- yes, phone chargers can wear out and so can the batteries themselves after many re-charges. Then too, the battery in the smartphone is much more powerful, than the one in the cell phone. Most require a different charger -- preferably the brand that came with the phone. They do sell universal chargers, but be very careful that it's compatible and beware of those cheap (usually made in China) chargers. The wiring is different -- they work very slowly, if at all, and have been known to ruin devices -- even catch on fire.

If you turn some of the apps (you're not using) and the locator off on the smartphone, your charge should last longer. If not, it may be time for a new battery.

I didn't know until last night of the trouble with Linus moving his legs during these episodes. Very good to have it checked out thoroughly. The neurologist will decide if any tests are necessary after this consultation -- going over his symptoms and medical history, medications, etc. Praying they get to the bottom of it soon.
