Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings for me was getting 8 loaves of bread baked - from scratch! Health Bread and Oatmeal bread - 4 loaves each. It went great with the chicken vegetable soup I made yesterday - Linus brought Deil here, and we had Lori here too, for supper, and we racked our wine the last time, and added a little more sugar and blueberry juice - it was made with blueberries and apples, but needed more blueberry taste. It's fine now to be bottled and this is our very first attempt at this! Deil liked it, and she enjoyed our wine tasting event! She also likes Sangria. Now being she's here with us, I should get back to her and Linus and so I just want to say again that you all are in my prayers daily for all of your intentions. Thanks much for your prayers for us.

Enthusiasm will be yours if you love God, love people, and love life.

Lord, the nearer I follow Your way, the happier I become.

Scripture for the day:

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the

world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the

world!" ~John 16:33

Meditation for the day:

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the

world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the

world!" We can keep an undaunted spirit. We can keep our spirit free

and unconquered. We can be undefeated and untouched by failure and

all its power, by letting our spirit overcome the world. We can rise

above the earth's turmoil into the secret place of perfect peace and

confidence. When a challenge comes to us, we can remember that we have

God's help and nothing can wholly defeat us.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may have confidence and be of good cheer. I pray that I

may not fear the power of failure.

So Blessed I Won't Be Stressed

When I think of the goodness of God, I'm blessed.

The breath He breathed into my body early this morning.

Yes, I'm blessed.

The sight He placed in my eyes, the hearing in my ears.

Oh yes, I'm blessed.

The walking in my legs, the swinging in my arms,

the grip in my hands.

Don't you know, I'm blessed?

The voice in my mouth, the speaking in my tongue,

the blood in my veins.

Oh my God, I'm blessed!

With every beat of my heart, every thought in my mind,

every problem solved.

Listen to me, because I'm tellin' you, I am truly blessed.

As I think about the clothes that drape my back,

the food that graces my table,

Boy I'm blessed!

The place I call home, the furniture on which I sit,

the pillow that cradles my head.

The job that pays my way.

When you sum it up,

I'm so blessed I won't be stressed.

Barb, I pray the Lord, who understands our every need, will move your family and friends to generously provide you with transportation, until you can have your car repaired.

Continued prayers for peaceful resolutions following the verdict (probably tomorrow) in Ferguson, MO. Healing and forgiveness for that community and beyond.

Hello to all here. May your day be blessed of Jesus.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

I used to bake bread from scratch about once a month it was very good it made the whole house smell good, I don't know why I stopped, I probably just got lazy.

It was nice to hear you had Deil over and you all had such a nice time.

Don't worry I think Linus will be all right.

Counting my blessings, and blessings to all.

Good morning

Homemade bread. Ahhhh. Hot out of the oven and slathered with butter. Man...talk about some good eating. Enjoy your weekend, Gloria.

Bobbisue, sorry to hear of your car troubles. I hope you find a solution soon.

Joy, may you have a blessed day as well.

Harlene, I also use to bake bread. I think we caught the same lazy bug! lol Might just have to buy some yeast and bread flour and give it another try.

I woke up with a sinus headache and a backache. Perhaps the cold weather has set into my body. Just an annoyance, it too shall pass.

Blessings to all. Have a wonderful day.

I just read this on facebook and thought I'd pass it along.

I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me

Is there something you are believing God for? Does it seem like it’s taking a long time to come to pass? Be encouraged today! The Bible says that through faith and patience you will inherit the promise. You can trust that God’s Word is true. Submit your prayers to the Lord, and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking on the door, and it will be opened to you. It may seem like it’s taking a long time, but know this: God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He is orchestrating things in your favor. He is perfecting whatever concerns you. Don’t give up! Start thanking God for His faithfulness in your life. As you stay faithful in your prayers and thanksgiving, the Lord will move mightily on your behalf. He’ll take you places that you’ve never dreamed, and you will live the life of victory He has in store for you!

Be still, and know.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

When my children were growing up, I would get up at 4:00 to get bread rising. I would make two loaves a day, every day, all by hand---no machine. There were never any leftovers. About 2 or 3 months went by and we realized that clothes were getting a little snug ....that darn bread with half a pound of butter !

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello all!! We only had my homemade bread when my girls were growing up, health breads. But after they were gone from home, I did cut down, made it again when we moved here, and then Linus got that diabetic scare so quit making it, and started again recently, but limit it to only 2 slices a day - that seems to work, keeping it in the freezer until we want it, I always slice it with an electric knife before freezing it. Now with 8 loaves - I won't be having to bake bread for awhile again! Just felt ambitious and wanted to get another batch done - for variety. All turned out great!!! My butter, friends, is not the real butter, but wait, it's good for us, it's Earth Balance, that is organic, and has lots of Omego 3 in it, and it tastes great, like butter. That I get at Walmart for less money than we have at our Food Co -op. Danky, I never would get up that early to make bread!!! I use to have a bread machine, but didn't like it and would much rather make it from scratch. Plus no holes in the bottom from the kneader. Mine are completely organic.
