Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Today was quite a day - Deil went to Urgent care last night late, they monitored her blood pressure, she was there until 2 AM. She drove herself because she couldn't find a ride! We all told her to never drive when her blood pressure is high, call 911 instead if she has no ride. Well, I tried to call her last night, no answer, again this morning, no answer, called the hospital to see if she's there, not admitted, so I called her son got him at work at his cell - he called a cop to check on things, and Deil had just gotten up, answered the door to a policeman! But he was very kind and said Tim asked him to come and check on her, long story short - Her good neighbors looked up the osteoporosis medicine she's taking and the side effects are high blood pressure. She should talk to her doctor in the morning about that - she has an appointment. Please keep her in prayer - as we do, I did get to talk to her today, and she seemed fine.

As God's children we have inherited all of His promises. Faith in You,

Lord, refreshes my soul as nothing else can.

Scripture for the day:

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." ~Psalm

119:105

Meditation for the day:

We can walk all the way with God. We need not go part of the way and

then stop. We need not push God so far into the background that God

has no effect on our lives. We can walk all the way with God. We can

make a good companion of God, by praying to God often during the day.

We need not let our contact with God be broken for too long a period.

We can walk all the way with God and with other people, along the path

of life, wherever it may lead us.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may walk in companionship with God along the way. I

pray that I may keep my feet upon the path that leads in the way God

would have me go.

COMING BACK

By Sally I. Kennedy

Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,

rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were

taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7

The plant that “would grow anywhere” looked dead as a doornail. The

flowers behind it weren’t looking so good either. Limp and fading,

they appeared to be on their last leg, too. Ironically, the

surrounding weeds were thriving, growing great.

Fading, limp, wilting, or a goner. Have you ever felt this way, in

your spirit, body, or emotions? I’ve been there, and I have learned

the truth of the principle of being rooted in Christ.

This plant was sprayed with an insecticide, but the large dose burned

it. For us, circumstances, relationships, job situations, can batter,

or burn, us pretty good sometimes. That’s life.

On the surface, what is visible, is what I call “in the night”.

Things seem dim, cloudy, even dark. But God is not a God of

confusion. No matter what is going on, He is still sovereign, still

watching over you, and involved in every facet of your life, working

all things out for your good. (Romans 8)

On either side of this burned-out plant are two sturdy, older bushes,

and the roots of the plant have grown deep down into the soil below.

This plant will come back. It will have fuzzy green leaves again. It

will have bold sunny yellow flowers again.

Stay rooted and grounded in Christ. Persevere, no matter what. Hold on

to the hem of Jesus’ robe, to His mighty and powerful name. We will

not only be survivors, but we will flourish.

Go, your faith has saved you," said Jesus to the blind man. And immediately

his sight returned.

Jesus, Light of the World

God does not sit in heaven impassively ignoring the screams of pain and

grief arising from the world. In Jesus He has joined Himself with them all

to lead them through it to new life and love. The miracles of Jesus are not

tricks to be wondered at but challenges to be taken up to alleviate

suffering whenever we can. One of the favored places of meeting Jesus is his

suffering people.

PERSONAL PRAYER

Jesus, open my eyes to the greatness of your love and to the fickleness of

my response to it.

When sadness or misfortune crushes hope and blinds me to your presence let

me see that you are close.

Help me to carry my cross and keep on saying that God is good; for so indeed

He is.

Comfort all who suffer, especially those who have lost hope, for whom every

new day is a new ordeal. Console them, Lord, and give them hope. Amen.

Patience In Prayer

When the idea is not right, God says, "NO".

No - when the idea is not the best.

No - when the idea is absolutely wrong.

No - when though it may help you,

it would create problems for someone else

When the time is not right, God says, "SLOW".

What a catastrophe it would be if God answered every prayer at the snap of

your fingers.

Do you know what would happen?

God would become your servant, not your master.

Suddenly God would be working for you instead of you working for God.

When you are not right, God says, "GROW."

The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness.

The cautious person must grow in courage.

The timid person must grow in confidence,

The dominating person must grow in sensitivity.

The critical person must grow in tolerance.

The negative person must grow in positive attitudes.

The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.

When everything is all right, God says, "GO."

Then miracles happen:

A hopeless alcoholic is set free.

A drug addict finds release.

A doubter becomes a child in his belief.

Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing begins.

The door to your dream suddenly swings open and there stands God saying,

"GO!".

Remember: God's delays are not God's denials.

God's timing is perfect.

Patience is what we need in prayer.

a bit of hope I had.

Today I sang a little song,

and felt my heart grow light,

And walked a happy little mile,

with not a cloud in sight.

Today I worked with what I had

and longed for nothing more,

And what had seemed like only weeds,

were flowers at my door.

Today I loved a little more and

complained a little less,

And in the giving of myself,

I forgot my weariness.

I'M TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED and TOO ANOINTED TO BE DISAPPOINTED!

I refuse to be discouraged, to be sad or to cry.

I refuse to be downhearted and here's the reason why:

I have a God who is almighty; who is sovereign and supreme;

I have a God who loves me, and I am on his team.

He is all wise and powerful; Jesus is His Name; though everything else is

changeable, My God remains the same.

I refuse to be defeated.

My eyes are on my GOD.

He has promised to be with me, as through this life I trod.

I am looking past my circumstances, to heaven's throne above.

My prayers have reached the heart of God.

I am resting in His love.

I give thanks to Him in everything.

My eyes are on His face.

The battle is His; the victory is mine; He will help me win the race.

I repeat, I'M TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!" You have just taken a dose of

encouragement. God's love to you.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hope you are all having a good day!! RetRN - that is scary! Hope it ends safely too!!

I talked to Deil and she seems fine. Was at her doctor's this morning, and her doctor will check into that drug and call that company about it's side effect being high blood pressure. Her BP is back down and she seems fine, although another X-ray was taking of her back because her doctor believes her pain in her thigh is from a nerve from the spine. The X-ray results should be tomorrow. Had a really nice visit with her - as usual.
