Hello my friends! What a beautiful day God gave us today!! We got up to 73! Nice out in the patio - but I do miss not picking my raspberries or beans anymore. That's over with now. Linus was off work and got Lori's shed all completed now - with painting the trim white. It looks like new now! Also he got yard work done. Lori's cleaning lady who loves to transform things, and re-did her kitchen so nicely, is now re-doing her bathroom, including a new floor! It'll be so nice! She never liked that floor there when she moved in 4 years ago. Trying to get used to my tablet. I can send things out on MSN, but nothing yet on charter. I don't know why or how to fix it. Maybe we'll have to go over to the charter place and see if they can fix it? Or maybe I need a tech. But that all costs so much money! Got to be careful. I don't know about our wine - it might be no good at all. Two weeks now and it stopped bubbling, and all the blueberries and apples are on top, thought they'd be in the bottom now and we could taste it. Oh well...We'll start over again, Lori says. Praying for you all, thanks for your prayers for us. Tomorrow morning we are going to my hometown for a funeral for a priest who we knew well - and loved. Another saint in Heaven now. He was such a holy man and admired and loved by so many. His name was Father Al.
Avoid using the words 'If only...' and 'I should have...'. These can
destroy
your peace of mind and even your health. Lord, help me to stop punishing
myself for past mistakes and live in the peace of the present.
Scripture for the day:
"So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will
find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who
asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who
knocks, the door will be opened." ~Luke 11:9-10
Meditation for the day:
"Behold, I shall stand at the door and knock. If any person hear my
voice and open the door, I will come in and remain with that person
and that person with me." The knocking of God's spirit, asking God to
come into our lives, is due to no merit of ours, though it is in
response to the longing of our hearts. We can keep a listening ear,
an ear bent to catch the sound of the gentle knocking at the door of
our heart by the spirit of God. Then we can open the door of our
hearts and let God's spirit come in.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may let God's spirit come into my heart. I pray that it
may fill me with an abiding peace.
Prayer For The Future
Lord, open our heart to receive Your Holy Spirit.
Teach us to await His coming, just as You did for Mary on the day of the
Annunciation, and again on Pentecost - the birthday of the Church - when she
was transformed into our Mother.
Show the new generation that Your Son Jesus Christ remains always and
forever the one and only Savior of the world.
Help us proclaim in a loud and bold voice that He is "the way, the truth and
the life."
The way that leads us to our final destiny.
The truth that illuminates our passage through the darkness of life and the
world.
The life that enriches us with profound peace.
Allow Your disciples, at the dawn of the third millennium, to speed up their
steps towards obeying Your command to be "one" in unity with the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit. May we approach the Lord, united, radiant with His
light, without somber faces, so that the whole world may know and recognize
Jesus Christ living in His disciples.

IT'S ONLY A QUARTER!
Author Unknown
Several years ago a preacher moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after
he arrived, he had occasion to ride the bus from his home to the
downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had
accidentally given him a quarter too much change.
As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give
the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, "Oh,
forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little
amount? Anyway the bus company already gets too much fare; they will
never miss it. Accept it as a gift from God and keep quiet."
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed
the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much
change."
The driver with a smile, replied, "Aren't you the new preacher in
town? I have been thinking lately about going to worship somewhere. I
just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change."
When my friend stepped off the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest
light pole, and held on, and said, "O God, I almost sold your Son for
a quarter."
Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read.
"Life"
By Bl. Mother Teresa
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is costly, care for it.
Life is wealth, keep it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is mystery, know it.
Life is a promise, fulfil it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
HEALED AND WHOLE
One day I dug a little hole,
and put my hurt inside
I thought that I could just forget
I'd put it there to hide.
But that little hurt began to grow,
I covered it every day
I couldn't leave it and go on
It seemed the price I had to pay.
My joy was gone,
my heart was sad,
pain was all I knew.
My wounded soul enveloped me
Loving seemed too hard to do.
One day, while standing by my hole,
I cried to God above
And said, "If You are really there,
They say, You're a God of Love!"
And just like that,
He was right there,
And just put His arms around me
He wiped my tears,
his hurting child there was no safer place to be.
I told Him all about my hurt,
I opened up my heart
He listened to each and every word
to every sordid part.
I dug down deep and got my hurt
I brushed the dirt away
And placed it in the Master's hand
and healing came that day.
He took the blackness of my soul
and set my spirit FREE!
Something beautiful began to grow
where the hurt used to be.
And when I look at what has grown
Out of my tears and pain
I remember every day
to give my hurts to GOD
And never bury them again.
Have faith in our Loving God.
There is nothing in this world
too big for our LORD.
May GOD bless you each and every one.

Hello ladies....Blessings to all here and those who read.
Gloria, said a prayer for Father Al's soul. May he rest in peace.
It was only 54 * here today. Gloria, it was warmer at your place than here.
Let us pray for the nurses who have Ebloa. May God heal them quickly and may the disease not spread.
I bought a pair of boots for this winter. It is supposed to be a bad winter.
Lots of love to all.....

The funeral was very nice - it was a beautiful Mass with lots of priests there! We gave a ride to a couple who used to be in his parish years ago. Remember Harold with Alz? He did great there - and Lorraine always at his side.
Thanks Harlene and Bobbiesue for praying for his soul - another saint in Heaven. He was a very holy man and very much loved. He was my Spiritual Director for over twenty years.
Felicia - so sorry about that fall - may God heal you quickly! Was your surgery a success, dear? Hope so. I remember it was a long one, eight hours? Sorry you are not recovered from that surgery yet. Thanks for praying for us!!! Praying for you, too!
RetRN - Thanks for your post to Felicia - she had surgery done along time ago and isn't healed from that yet.
Bobbiesue - We had lots of cool wind today - our temps were like yours, and yesterday it was 73 here! Sounds like Sunday will be another really nice day here. Our weatherman does not say we'll have another harsh winter - but milder. That's what I'm praying for. Still a new pair of boots is great!
