Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends!!! It's good to be home again - it always is!! But thanks be to God I got to see all my sisters today in Mpls. yes, that is Minneapolis! And great weather this weekend too! Got some nice pictures of Deil with her cake and Lori put it on Facebook so her sons there can see her - and they commented on how nice she looked, so did Darla - from all over, people could see her that love her, grandchildren too. It was a lot of driving for Lor to pick up Deil in Glencoe, an hour and a half away from here, then onto the Airport in Mpls. to pick up Sister LaDonna when the shuttle came - another hour, and then on to Ethel's for the party! Erma was there, in her wheelchair - she had fallen and fractured a rib a couple weeks ago, but is doing well now, and really enjoyed being there, still has pain, of course, but was glad she could be with us all. Ethel has a friend who doesn't have family, so we're including her in our family things too. She is a sweetheart! Thank you all for your nice posts, and keep them coming - and thanks for keeping the thread alive! Praying for you all! One part of sad news though, on the way I got a call from Wanda - Lynn, the one who was taken by ambulance Friday - died Friday night of a massive heart attack. Her family reunion that was scheduled for yesterday got cancelled and now they come for her funeral on Tuesday. She was such a nice lady. I will surely miss her.

Good is always coming to you. No matter what is happening in your life,

you can bless it with prayer and be peaceful. Lord, You give me the courage

to face any situation confidently and victoriously.

Scripture for the day:

"Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up

and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundred-fold." And

he said, 'Let anyone with ears to hear listen!'" ~Mark 4:8-9

Meditation for the day:

God's kingdom on earth is growing slowly, like a seed in the ground.

In the growth of God's kingdom there is always progress among the few

who are out ahead of the crowd. We can keep striving for something

better and there does not need to be stagnation in our lives. Eternal

life, abundant life can be ours for the seeking. We need not misspend

time over past failures. We can count the lessons learned from

failures as rungs upon the ladder of progress. We can press onward

toward the goal.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be willing to grow. I pray that I may keep stepping

up on the rungs of the ladder of life.

Give us

Give us your words Lord, so we may speak.

Give us your heart so we may love.

Give us your wisdom so we may understand.

Give us your mercy so we may forgive.

Give us your strength so we may persevere.

Give us your joy so we may dance!

Give us your righteousness so we may have peace.

Give us your grace so we may abound in every good work!

May the Lord give you all that you need today, in all things and at all

times to share joyfully with others!

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Why are you angry?

Anger is about the silliest thing that we let ourselves fall into. It is

also the bitterest root in our heart. If we truly look into our heart most

of the time that anger is out of jealousy because someone else was righteous

and we fell short. Just as God asked Cain, "If you do what is right, will

you not be accepted." Cain was angry out of his own guilt. Sometimes we use

anger to make others pay for what have done or failed to do.

Gen 4:6-7

6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do

what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but

you must master it."

* We are not thankful for what we have until we are willing to give it away

to someone that needs it more than we do.

SPECIAL BEATTUTUDES

Author Unknown

SPECIAL BEATTUTUDES for those who work with special people

BLESSED ARE YOU who take time to listen to difficult speech

FOR YOU help us know that if we persevere, we can be understood.

BLESSED ARE YOU who walk with us in public places and ignore the

stares of strangers,

FOR in your companionship, we find havens of relaxation.

BLESSED ARE YOU who never bid us "hurry up" and more blessed, you who

do not snatch our tasks from our hands to do them for us

FOR often we need time rather than help.

BLESSED ARE YOU who stand beside us as we enter new and untried

ventures,

FOR our failures will be outweighed by times when we surprise

ourselves and you.

BLESSED ARE YOU who ask for our help

FOR our greatest need is to be needed.

BLESSED ARE YOU who help us with the graciousness of Christ.

FOR oftentimes we need the help we cannot ask for.

BLESSED ARE YOU when, by all these things you assure us that the thing

that makes us individuals is not in our peculiar muscles, not in our

wounded nervous systems, nor in our difficulties in learning

BUT in the God-given self which no infirmity can confine.

REJOICE AND BE EXCEEDINGLY GLAD, and know that you give us

reassurances that could never be spoken in words,

FOR you deal with us as Christ dealt with all His children.

THE GREAT INVENTOR

By Sally I. Kennedy

We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these

worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea

and everything in them. Acts 24:15b

Has not my hand made all these things? Acts 7:50

When you were a child, did you ever wonder how the ocean didn’t slide

off the earth? How all the water didn’t spill out and eventually there

would be no more water in the oceans? What a great invention!

Sometimes even now I think of how amazing is our God about soo many

things. Like how the ocean doesn’t.

Psalm 104 majestically tells of God, the great inventor. Who but God

could design oceans teeming with unimaginable sea creatures from

microscopic algae to gigantic whales and countless colorful marine

life in between? Plus grasses and coral and sand and, well, the list

is infinite.....

Years ago, our family did a little snorkeling and some diving. Under

the sea it was eerily silent, a whole other world. ‘Beautiful’ doesn’t

even come close to describing it.

The worship song by Nicole C. Mullen (Redeemer) poses these questions:

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning, Who told the ocean

you an only come this far? Who showed the moon where to hide 'til

evening, Whose words alone can catch a falling star? And the lyrics

answer perfectly: Well I know my Redeemer lives, I know my Redeemer

lives; All of creation testify, This life within me cries, I know my

Redeemer lives.

The Great Inventor and our Redeemer, one. One God. That is good news.

MY PRAYER

May the Holy Communion be my strong defense against all my enemies, visible

and invisible, and the perfect calming of all my evil impulses, bodily and

spiritual.

May it unite me more closely to you, the one true God, and lead me safely

through death to everlasting happiness with you.

And I pray that you will lead me, a sinner, to the banquet where you, with

your Son and Holy Spirit, are true and perfect light, total fulfillment,

everlasting joy, gladness without end, and perfect happiness to your saints.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mother Teresa Said...

Jesus, you have given everything, life, blood, all. Now it is my turn. I put

everything into the field also. The common soldier fights in the ordinary

lines, but the devoted one tries to be near the captain to share his fate.

This is the spirit of Christ.

Meditations by Padre Pio

Don’t tire yourself with things that cause anxieties, perturbation and

worries. Only one thing is necessary, to lift up your spirit and love God.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello everyone,

Gloriajean, thank you for the picture of Deil and her birthday cake. She looks great! Happy Birthday Deil!

Harlene, hope you are feeling better and better each day.

We have had so much rain lately. We had storms over night, and when I took my son to school...where they have bailed hay in the fields...the fields are just covered with standing water. Today, they are forcasting severe weather, as a cold front moves in. My blessing, God has been so forever faithful in keeping a hedge around our home. Thank You Lord Jesus!

Love Roses, I sure wish I could send some of this rain your way, just enough to fill your lakes and streams. Hope your recovery is going well.

Cakers, prayers for you and your loved one.

Your all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! May God give you peace, hope and comfort.

Until next time...

Take Care, Stay Safe, and God Bless!

Harlene - thanks!

Juanita - sounds like you've had too much rain there! It's raining a bit today, not much. Was nice all weekend - that was wonderful for the travels with Lori. Thank you for praying for us! The picture of Deil was on Facebook so her sons and grandkids could see her!! They commented on her too!

RetRN - You must be a registered nurse, am I right? I wonder what the Ret is for? Anyway, thanks for coming here and yes, we pray that Lynn is at peace now. Tomorrow's the funeral, and I'm sure that everyone that should have been there for the reunion Saturday will be there.

Hello ladies. Gloria, I got the lovely pic of your sister. I missed the note however. She is 92 and looks much younger. She looks like you. You have a lovely family.

I am blessed today because my grandkids are here visiting me. My son is cooking. I give praise to Jesus for saving me and forgiving my sins. What a great God we have.

May you all have a great day today and God bless you all.

My sister, Deil, was brought to Emergency Care today - she has alot of pain in her leg, and her blood pressure is high, she can hardly walk, and is not supposed to be left alone, we almost had to go there tonight, but one of her son's got contacted and he's there now. Praise God they got a hold of him. We don't know if we need to be with her tomorrow or not. Please pray.
