Grammar -- I rest my case

I just heard this quote on my local TV news given by a mother who home schools her children. She was being interviewed by a reporter about a meth lab that was in a nearby home.

"You just don't know how long it would have went on."

And her children are home schooled by her.

I imagine a large number of people who home school aren't qualified to teach anyone anything.
