Re: October's Birds Nest - Harvest Time

Possummink was the first poster after midnight October 1st so I am copying her post from the September's Nest.

Hi Birding Friends, Still having problems with my computer. Frustrating. and my arm is giving me a 'fit'.

Wanted to say hi. DD, GDs and I spent most of the day celebrating Jillian's 16th. birthday. Went to St. Charles, MO, the first capital of Missouri. It's an old river town, well preserved, and has been pretty well restored as an antique, boutique, dining and historical area. We had lunch and did a bit of shopping. Love the cobblestone streets and the riverfront parks and gazebos.

My arm is starting to throb, mainly due to typing with the mouse and the on screen keyboard. Will sign off for now.

Re: October's Birds Nest - Harvest Time

Possummink - I lost one of the pics - sorry. It finally hit me what was going on with my right shoulder. I knew I did something to it when I went on a window cleaning bender at the end of August - I'm fighting frozen shoulder. It feels just like it did when I had frozen shoulder a decade ago on my left side. This time I am smarter. While I am in the acute, extremely painful phase of this, I am determined to avoid the actual freezing and go straight into the thawing. Sometimes it aches so bad I feel like I am going to throw up. I never thought I would go through something like this again in my life and here I am ten years later. I am right handed which complicates things a bit. Last time, I babied the arm and presented with the 'worst case of frozen shoulder' the orthopedic guy had ever seen. That cortisone shot was a sonofagun and I am not doing that again. I hope you can get your PC repaired to the point of being able to enjoy using it. I know that once the shoulder starts throbbing like a heartbeat it can be a bear to get any sleep at all.

Bird mama - SportsGel may help with the throbbing. I had a bad shoulder for a year, but knew someone who had frozen shoulder who finally had to have it rotated, while under, to unlock it. Hope yours gets better soon.

Possumm - so sorry your arm is still an issue. Is there anything you can apply or do for it? I always head for SportsGel for any pain or ache, can't hurt to try, I always think.

Puddles thanks for the animated cartoon {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Possummink - it looks like storms might have blown through your part of the country and it's headed my way tomorrow. Forecasters here are saying this weekend will feel like 30's and 40's. Did you get a cold snap?

Freddie - how's it going with all of the kids and critters?

Mousie - I learned with my frozen shoulder in 2004 to do gentle stretching exercises, which is what seems to be working for me. If I accidentally move too fast, like I did yesterday when a bug landed on me (lol), I pay for it the better part of the day.

Waving hello to Stepping Stone, Luvsbulldogs, Meuw4 and Sweetpeace. Saying welcome to new visitors to the nest.
