Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Hope your day is going well. My blessings today was getting a lot done - and I feel it! Yes, I was busy most of the day cleaning out drawers, throwing away stuff not needed, but was clutter! Being I operate a large list for many years, I do have some drawers with prayers, good inspirational stuff etc. and I don't throw away. Organizing them all is the key. By the time I'm finished I'll have my house organized and that will truly be a blessing! Another blessing is that the thread works - and not be like it was two nights ago!

No one has the power to take your happiness or keep you from being

happy and at peace unless you allow it. Lord, help me remember that I

am sustained and supported by Your love for me who wants only for my

safety and goodness.

Scripture for the day:

"If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light; but if it

is not healthy, your body is full of darkness." ~Luke 11:34

Meditation for the day:

"If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light; but if it

is not healthy, your body is full of darkness." The eye of the soul

is the will. If our will is to do the will of God, to serve God with

our lives, to serve God by helping others, then truly shall our whole

body be full of light. The important thing is to strive that our will

be attuned to the will of God, a single eye to God's purpose, desiring

nothing less than that God's purposes be fulfilled. We can try to

seek in all things the advance of God's kingdom, seek the spiritual

values of honesty and purity, unselfishness and love, and earnestly

desire spiritual growth. Then our life will emerge from the darkness

of futility into the light

of victory.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that my eye may be healthy. I pray that my life may be lived

in the light of the best that I know.

Mother Teresa Said...

"That is why Jesus made himself bread

to satisfy our hunger for God.

See the humility of God.

He also made Himself the hungry one

to satisfy our hunger for God

through our love, our service.

Let us pray that none of us will be unfaithful.

Let us pray for our poor people.

They are also hungry for God."

Break My Will To Match Yours

Lord, when You come in the form of a trial,

no matter how small, like

the disappointment of having someone

disagree with me and

facing rejection from those I love;

when I know that I am in the right

and am blamed for what is wrong,

when I have worked hard

to make things pleasant,

yet meet with criticisms of

what might have been;

when the expectancy of waiting

seems to have no end,

and I see others enjoy blessings

I pray to have a share in, Oh, Lord,

make it easy for my will to conform to Yours.

For doing Your will involves

a wrenching and a tearing apart

of self-love.

My will cracks, and in the cracking

becomes whole again

while it yields to Yours.

Oh, God, the process is painful

while it lasts.

But no sooner do I yield to Your pleasure

than you unlock the torrent of joy!

What surging wave of peace You bring!

What overwhelming power of being free

while it lasts.

If this be a way of union with You, Lord,

Let my will conform to Yours,

no matter what the pain and the price,

that I may be one with You

in everything I do.

Lord, this is my wish,

Write it in Your heart

as I write it in mine.

TRAVELING COMPANION

By Sally I. Kennedy

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be

with you forever - the Spirit of truth. John 14:16-17

The small potty chair traveled everywhere my young grandson went.

His mom was potty-training him. So the day they came over for a swim,

they arrived with the minipotty in tow. Ryan had on swim diapers,

however the little potty was handy at the side of the pool. My

daughter would haul it around; it was never very far away from

wherever her toddler was.

We are in training, too. Faith training; the journey of our faith

walk. No last chapter on that, not in this lifetime.

Fortunately we have someone who is with us everywhere we go: a guide,

teacher, helper. The Holy Spirit is our constant traveling companion.

That is good news. Thank you, Jesus.

Let it go (by T. D. Jakes, 2004)

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you

this, when people can walk away from you: let them walk!

I do not want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,

loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying

attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. Your destiny is never tied to

anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest

that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have

continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not

joined to you, you can't make them stay. Let them go.

It doesn't mean that they are bad, it just means that their part in the

story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is

over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead. You've got to know

when it's dead. You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell you something; I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth

spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.

It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God

means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I

don't need it. Stop begging people to stay. Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never

intended for your life, then you need to... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains... LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth... LET

IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge... LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents...

LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude... LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better... LET IT GO!!!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in

Him... LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship... LET IT

GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves...

LET IT GO!!!

If you're feeling depressed and stressed .... LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself

and God is saying "take your hands off of it"... LET IT GO!!!

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new

thing. Forgiveness is the solution.

The Ticket

Author Unknown

Jack took a long look at his speedometer before slowing down: 73 in a 55

zone. Fourth time in as many months. How could a guy get caught so often?

When his car had slowed to 10 miles an hour, Jack pulled over, but only

partially. Let the cop worry about the potential traffic hazard. Maybe some

other car will tweak his backside with a mirror.

The cop was stepping out of his car, the big pad in hand.

Bob? Bob from church? Jack sunk farther into his trench coat. This was worse

than the coming ticket. A Christian cop catching a guy from his own church.

A guy who happened to be a little anxious to get home after a long day at

the office. A guy he was about to play golf with tomorrow. Jumping out of

the car, he approached a man he saw every Sunday, a man he'd never seen in

uniform.

"Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you like this."

"Hello, Jack." No smile.

"Guess you caught me red-handed in a rush to see my wife and kids."

"Yeah, I guess."

Bob seemed uncertain. Good. "I've seen some long days at the office lately.

I'm afraid I bent the rules a bit-just this once." Jack toed at a pebble on

the pavement. "Diane said something about roast beef and potatoes tonight.

Know what I mean?"

"I know what you mean. I also know that you have a reputation in our

precinct."

Ouch! This was not going in the right direction. Time to change tactics.

"What'd you clock me at?"

"Seventy-one. Would you sit back in your car, please?"

"Now wait a minute here, Bob. I checked as soon as I saw you. I was barely

nudging 65." The lie seemed to come easier with every ticket.

"Please, Jack, in the car."

Flustered, Jack hunched himself through the still-open door. Slamming it

shut, he stared at the dashboard. He was in no rush to open the window. The

minutes ticked by. Bob scribbled away on the pad. Why hadn't he asked for a

driver's license? Whatever the reason, it would be a month of Sundays before

Jack ever sat near this cop again. A tap on the door jerked his head to the

left. There was Bob, a folded paper in hand. Jack rolled down the window a

mere two inches, just enough room for Bob to pass him the slip.

"Thanks." Jack could not quite keep the sneer out of his voice. Bob returned

to his car without a word. Jack watched his retreat in the mirror. Jack

unfolded the sheet of paper. How much was this one going to cost? Wait a

minute. What was this? Some kind of joke? Certainly not a ticket. Jack began

to read:

"Dear Jack,

Once upon a time I had a daughter. She was six when killed by a car. You

guessed it - a speeding driver. A fine and three months in jail, and the man

was free. Free to hug his daughters. All three of them. I only had one, and

I'm going to have to wait until heaven before I can ever hug her again. A

thousand times I've tried to forgive that man. A thousand times I thought I

had. Maybe I did, but I need to do it again. Even now. . . Pray for me. And

be careful. My son is all I have left. Bob"

Jack...twisted around in time to see Bob's car pull away and head down the

road. Jack watched until it disappeared. A full 15 minutes later, he too,

pulled away and drove slowly home, praying for forgiveness and hugging a

surprised wife and kids when he arrived.

Life is precious. Handle with care.

Mother Teresa Said...

Jesus has chosen us for Himself; we belong to Him. Let us be so convinced of

this belonging that we do not allow anything, however small, to separate us

from this belonging from this love.

Meditations by Padre Pio

You will never complain about offenses, no matter where they come from,

remembering that Jesus was saturated with ignominy from the malice of men He

Himself had aided.

You will excuse everyone with Christian charity, keeping before your eyes

the example of the Divine Master who excused even His crucifiers before the

Father.

Blessings to all here and those who read. I, too, am counting my blessings. Jesus watches over me and that is a blessing. He said, I will never leave or forsake you. That's my Jesus.
