Hello my friends! It's cold out! I was picking raspberries, which are fewer now, and it sure was cold. It's supposed to freeze tonight, so I will pick all the kale and collard and bring it in now after I get this thread done, and then we are going to Lori's - she's taking us to her friend's place who has a shed for sale, so her Dad will check that out to see if it can be moved and in what kind of shape it's in. My blessings today - got a blessing call from my friend, Angie, she got a new cell phone, a smart phone, and now has unlimited minutes and texts, before that she did not have unlimited and had to watch her time with the text messages. She is planning on trying this out, and then getting rid of her landline and computer. I don't think she'll miss her computer much, she doesn't get on it that much anymore, and charter keeps on going up and up!! She's a widow. Today's blessings are many - too numerous to mention, most of all my Faith in God!
In everything imitate God and you will come to know him better and better.
Lord, I ask your help to come close to you in my thoughts and bring love to
this earth.
Scripture for the day:
"And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." ~John 17:3
Meditation for the day:
"And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." Learning to know God as best we
can helps us experience eternal life. Freed from some of the
limitations of humanity, we can grow in things that are eternal. We
can strive for what is real and of eternal value. The more we try to
live in the consciousness of the unseen world, the gentler will be our
passing into it when the time comes for us to go. This life on earth
can be largely a preparation for the eternal life to come.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may live each day as though it were my last. I pray that
I may live my life as though it were everlasting.
THE MENDER
My Savior specializes in mending broken things,
He takes the heart that's shattered, and gives it songs to sing.
He pieces it together with His sweet gracious touch;
He mends the heart that's broken because He loves so much.
He mends the broken spirit, then lifts that spirit up,
The broken lives He reshapes... those lives so wrecked by sin,
When in their crushed condition they turn in faith to Him.
The broken dreams that crumble to ashes at our feet,
That seemed so fair and lovely, that made life taste more sweet.
Those broken dreams He rebuilds and fashions them anew. ..
Then gives us faith to trust Him to see new dreams come true.
What of the broken plans then? The broken health that comes?
Is He not ever mindful when life's swift pendulum
Dashes to scattered pieces the plans that we have made?
Above it all, He whispers- "I shall come to your aid."
He restores broken spirits, binds broken hearts, and dreams,
Repairs the shattered pages of lives that He redeems.
He stands ready to help us no matter what life brings
Because He specializes in mending broken things!
ARE YOU WILLING?
To close your book of complaints and to open the Book of praise?
To stop looking for friendship and start being friendly?
To ignore what life owes you and think about what YOU owe life?
To believe others are quite as sincere as you and to treat them with
respect?
To cease looking for someone to help you and to devote yourself to helping
others?
THE SNEEZE

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the
already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing ..
And the traditional caps, they looked almost .. As grown up as they
felt.
Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away
tears.
This class would NOT pray during the commencements----not by choice,
but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.
The principal and several students were careful to stay within the
guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and
challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one
asked for blessings on the graduates or their families..
The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final
speech received a standing ovation.
A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still
and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.
All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!
The student on stage.. Simply looked at the audience and said,
'GOD BLESS YOU, each and everyone of you!' And he walked off stage...
The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a
unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without
the court's approval.
Isn't this a wonderful story? Pass it on to all your
friends..............and
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
This is a true story; it happened at the University of Maryland .
Oh, how I wish THIS one would take off and FILL the whole Country!!!
Prayer For Relieving Stress And Anxiety
Lord, there has been too much change in my life recently, and I feel
overwhelmed. Because I try to be a responsible person, I sometimes forget
that it is unwise for me to allow my sense of duty to override my common
sense.
Lord, help me to allow myself more time to rest, relax, and pray. Guide me
toward something spiritual to read every day and a quiet time afterwards to
reflect on what I have read and how it pertains to my life. I truly want to
simplify my life and live more as Christ did. Help me remember that there
is no loss or problem I must face alone. You are always near, with Your
love and compassion to comfort me. Amen.

A father was approached by his small son, who told him proudly, "I
know what the Bible means!"
His father smiled and replied, "What do you mean, you 'know' the
Bible?"
The son replied, "I do know!"
"Okay," said his father. "So, Son, what does the Bible mean?"
"That's easy, Daddy. It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving
Earth.'"
Mother Teresa Said...
"That is why Jesus made himself bread
to satisfy our hunger for God.
See the humility of God.
He also made Himself the hungry one
to satisfy our hunger for God
through our love, our service.
Let us pray that none of us will be unfaithful.
Let us pray for our poor people.
They are also hungry for God."
Meditations by Padre Pio
Be cheerful. Jesus will take care of everything. Let us pay no attention to
people who do not know what they are saying. Let us trust in Jesus and our
heavenly Mother; and everything will work out well.
Dedication to Mary, Mother of God
O Mary, Mother of God and our mother,
we offer ourselves to your loving care.
Today we choose you as our mother, guide and friend.
May we always be faithful to you,
and desire, say and do only what is pleasing to you.
O most tender and loving mother,
we beg you through the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ, your divine Son,
to keep us especially dear to you
and to obtain for us the strength to lead a holy life,
a life of goodness, purity and love,
offered to God in thanksgiving and praise.
Be present with us at all times, O Blessed Virgin Mary,
and especially at the hour of our death.
Then Mary protect us from the Evil One, the enemy of our souls.
Guide us safely into the presence of Jesus, the Risen Lord,
so that we may, with you and all the saints,
share His life, happiness and love, for ever.
Amen.

Hello everyone,
It has been very humid here. Today we got a good rain shower, a little thunder, and the sun came back out and here we are again, more humidty. I know the trees, grass and plants just love it. Overall our summer has really been good, it wasn't hot and humid all the time, so that was a blessing from our Creator.
Another blessing...today I spent most of the day with my mother inlaw. Her good friend Margie passed away recently. I used to post here about my visits with my mother inlaw and Margie. She surely will be missed by many.
Gloriajean, it's so hard to believe that summer will soon be over. Where does the time go...it passes so quickly. Gloriajean, is this early for a freeze warning or is this about normal for MN? Here the leaves on the trees are beginning to change color. Thank you for all of the pictures, so beautiful. Continue prayers for you and your loved ones.
Love Roses, I have you in my thoughts and my prayers for your surgery.
Ladies, all of you are in my prayers and thoughts. I hope eveyone has a great weekend. And like Love Roses "know that you are loved."
Until next time...
Take Care and God Bless!

Hello ladies. God's blessings on all of you. I am still praying for a revival in America. We need people to turn back to God. It makes no difference what your denomination is. We all worship Jesus. We need to turn back to him. Pray for America.
Gloria, is it cold enough to freeze where you are? It is cold here, but not that cold....yet! We are to have another harsh winter. My husband and I had planned to move to Florida when I retired from nursing, but he died before I retired. I wish he were here. We might be living in sunny Florida.
Blessings to all here and those who read. May all your prayers be answered. I am going to church Sunday. I've missed a few weeks. God bless you.
Hello to Double J....Good to hear from you. God bless you.

Juanita - so good to see you again! It's been ages!! It is early for freezing here, usually it waits until October, but then we get Indian Summer, after the first hard frost, which is always nice too for a few days. It didn't freeze last night, but tonight's low shows 33 degrees. It was certainly not a hot summer - only used the AC about 3 times and that was for humidity. Now Summer's over already and it sure went fast!!
Harlene - how are you? How's the feet and the back? Praying for you, dear.
Bobbiesue - it is cold for freezing tonight - it didn't last night yet, but tonight should be down to 33. I bet those who have their winters in warmer climates are happy. My aunts and uncles did that. But it's not affordable for us, so we stay here through it all with God's blessings. Also wouldn't want to be far away from Lori so long, either. Bad enough being away from Darla.
Blessings on our dear Country!
