Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Today I went to Dr. Mike again for my neck area that was giving me headaches, and now they are gone - praise God! He worked over my back, and I need to come back in a couple weeks, but I should not use the vacuum! So I'll clean without using it then, Anniversary party is in two weeks! Good thing that Lori has her cleaning lady come to clean my house before the party - trading for massages!! What a gift!! I had an hour's nap this afternoon - guess going to the chiro made me very tired. Going out tonight with Lori to a big event in our town - introducing Young Living Essential Oils. Higher up people for far will here for it - giving the meeting. I know nothing what it's all about now, but hope I'll remember things afterwards! I use those oils here and there when needed.

If you are over committed, things begin to fall apart. Lord, help me be

reasonable

in the expectations I place on myself so that I can efficiently use my time

and still

have enough time to relax and enjoy the day.

Scripture for the day:

"By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high will break upon us,

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to

guide our feet into the way of peace." ~Luke 1:78-79

Meditation for the day:

For straying from the right way there is no cure except to keep so close to

the thought of God that nothing, no other interest, can seriously come

between us and God. Sure of that, we can stay on God's side. Knowing the

way, nothing can prevent our staying in the way and nothing can cause us to

seriously stray from it. God has promised peace if we stay close to God,

but not leisure. We still have to carry on in the world. God has promised

heart-rest and comfort, but not leisure in the ordinary sense. Peace and

comfort bring real inward happiness.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may keep my feet on the way. I pray that I may stay on God's

side.

Got Jesus?

Consider the good news ...

God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. For God so loved

the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him

will not perish but have eternal life. -- John 3:16

None of us will ever satisfy God's perfect standards. We can't work our way

into Heaven. For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious

standard. -- Romans 3:23

Jesus did something you and I could never do. But God showed his great love

for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us -- Romans

5:8

The only way to God is through Jesus. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth,

and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." -- John 14:6

Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. "I stand at the door and knock.

If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in ..." -- Revelation

3:20

You need to personally receive Jesus Christ into your life. For if you

confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that

God raised him from the dead you will be saved. -- Romans 10:9

Aren't you ready to invite Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior? All you

have to do is ask Him. Right now. Ask Him to take over your life, to help

you become the kind of person you want to be, to help you with your

struggles. Thank Him for dying for your sins. He came to this world so you

and I can live an abundant, joy-filled life now and forever. Once you've

made your decision, you need to find a group of committed Christians to help

you in your walk. You need to spend time each day reading and thinking about

God's word and you need to spend time praying, just talking to God about

your joys and concerns, offering your thanksgiving and confessing your sins.

Your life will never be the same with Jesus. You will be able to do anything

and overcome anything. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens

me." -- Philippians 4:13.

So, Got Jesus?

10 Suggestions to Help Develop a Healthy Self-Image

Here are 10 suggestions to help you develop and maintain a healthy

self-image. Read them slowly. Meditate on them regularly.

1. Hate your sin, but never hate yourself.

2. Be quick to repent.

3. When God gives you light, walk in it.

4. Stop saying negative things about yourself. God loves you and it's wrong

to hate what He loves. He has great plans for you, so you're in conflict

with Him when you speak negatively concerning your future.

5. Never be afraid to admit that you've made a mistake and don't always

assume that when things go wrong, it must be 'my fault'.

6. Don't meditate excessively on what you've done, right or wrong; both of

these activities keep your mind on you! Center your thoughts on Christ.

7. Take good care of yourself physically. Make the best of what God gave you

to work with, but don't be obsessed with your appearance.

8. Never stop learning but don't allow your education to become a point of

pride. God doesn't use you because of what's in your head: He uses you

because of what's in your heart.

9. Realize that your talents are a gift, not something you have manufactured

yourself; never look down on people who can't do what you do.

10. Don't despise your weaknesses they keep you dependent on God.

Prayer of Healing

(From: Praying God's Promises)

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for

you are my praise.

I praise you, mighty Father.

You forgive all my iniquities, and you heal all my diseases.

Thank you, Lord. When I am sick, you send your Word, and it heals me and

delivers me from all destructions.

Your Word is life to me, and it brings healing to my flesh.

Thank you for the healing power of your Word, Father.

I will never let it depart from my eyes.

I will keep your Word deeply implanted within my heart.

Praise your name, holy Father.

I love you, and I thank you for healing me and keeping me in good health.

Food for Thought

ALIVE ON THE OUTSIDE

By Sally I. Kennedy

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved

us. Romans 8:37

From a distance, it looked like a victim of last year’s hurricane. My

friend Sarah, pointed. “Look at that!”, she exclaimed. I followed her

finger, and saw the huge tree where half of it had been ripped off.

Literally. The jagged place showed just where the wind force lopped

off a giant part of the tree.

We walked closer to it and noticed a dark area in the trunk. Upon

closer examination, we found, what appeared to be, the heart of the

tree all blackened and dead looking. How could the tree be alive if

it were dead on the inside?

I thought of Rita. Radiation treatments had claimed her dark, curly

hair. On the outside, her body was failing. On the inside, her spirit

was more vibrant than ever. While we were visiting, her sunken eyes

were closed, breathing shallow. But oh my, the peaceful expression on

her face said it all. Talk about shekinah; the glory of the Lord shone

from within her. Her spirit was very much alive, even though, on the

outside, her body was wracked by disease

Last week I was at the home of a neighbor. Terry looked great on the

outside, acted fine too. She welcomed us, chatted animatedly,

graciously offered a snack her husband had laid out on the kitchen

table. We were there to pray with Terry, whose diagnosis was stage 4

metastasized cancer. She was thin, and her body clearly showed signs

of battling a disease. On the inside, though, her spirit was vigorous,

as was clearly evident as we prayed together.

Looks are deceiving, and things are not always what they seem. Some

people are alive on the outside, yet dead on the inside, in their

spirit. Still others look sick on the outside, yet are very much alive

in their soul, on the inside.

At Terry’s home, I found this note taped to the bathroom mirror, which

her son kindly let me copy :

Cancer is so limited.

It cannot

Cripple love

Shatter hope

Corrode faith

Destroy peace

Kill friendship

Suppress memories

Silence courage

Invade the soul

Steal eternal life

It cannot

Conquer the Spirit.

The bible tells us we are “more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.

(Romans 8:37).

That is very good news.

WHAT YOU WILL BE

Author Unknown

As I gazed up at the mountains, I was awed by their majesty;

I bowed my head and asked myself, "Why should He care for me?

I am not great like the mountains that tower so high above,

What is there about me that God can find to love?"

"Father, I am not strong like the wind that makes your tall trees sway,

I cannot sing sweetly like your birds; will you love me anyway?

But most of all, I am simply me, and often have cause to fear,

In spite of all my weaknesses, do you promise to be near?"

With eyes closed tight against my tears, I wished He could hear me pray.

Then I felt His Spirit tell me, "Child, look up, I have something to say.

"You are simply you, the spirit I love, a part of my great plan.

I put you here to learn of life and to return to me again."

"You are more beautiful to me than the loveliest mountain I made,

And your strength exceeds that of the wind's, so do not be afraid.

I love you not for what you are, but for what I know you will be.

I am always beside you watching you grow, you are very special to me."

A smile touched my lips - I knew it was true, my Father had always been

there

Giving me comfort and blessings and love and my own special talents to

share.

So I do my best to make Him proud. I am not afraid, for you see,

He loves me not for what I am, but for what He knows I will be.

What Can I Do?

What can I do for you dear Jesus?

You have done so much for me.

Can I read your word,

Or say a prayer?

One I'm sure you've heard.

What good thing can I do for you,

Maybe speak a sweet kind word?

To friends or foe,

Who doesn't know,

How precious is your love.

What can I do or say dear Lord,

That hasn't already been said?

So many have written about you,

So many that are led.

Led of your Spirit to do your will

And always stay alert,

So all are healed and helped some way

And no one's ever hurt!

I can't do much but say,

Thank you Lord for all you've done

And praise your Holy name,

Our Lord, Gods only Son.

Gloria, I hope you have a good time at your party. How many years have you been married? Congrats.

I fell and broke my left foot. The Dr. put me in a shoe that I have to wear until the bone heals. He said about a month or so. My bones are old. I tripped on the side walk and fell. I'm clumsy I guess.

I'm going to church tomorrow night despite the shoe.

God bless you all and have a good evening.

Hello Everyone -

Gloria - can't wait to hear all about the anniversary party!!!

Harlene: Your card must be beautiful!

bobbiesue: Oh I'm sorry about your foot!!

Pope Francis lost 3 family members in a car crash in Argentina - his nephew survived with serious injuries but his wife and 2 children did not make it. I don't know if there has been an update - I've been out all day.
