Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends!! Today we brought my sister, Deil, home with us and she'll stay the weekend until Monday morning. I heard after we got home by email that they were moving Erma out of ICU today - hope soon she can be discharged. She still needs the oxygen. Made some short cake today and we had raspberry shortcake with dairy queen ice cream! Deil had brought some corn on cob so we had that for supper along with some turkey, and sweet potatoes. Praying for you all!

Keep your heart clean by constant spring cleaning. Then there will be a

place for

beauty and peace. Lord, help me to remove carelessness and disrespect from

my

heart and in all things may I celebrate Your love for me.

Scripture for the day:

"If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." ~Mark 4:23

Meditation for the day:

"He that has eyes to see, let him see." To the seeing eye, the world is

good. We can pray for a seeing eye, to see the purpose of God in

everything good. We can pray for enough faith to see God's care in

God's dealings with us. We can try to see how God has brought us safely

through our past life so that now we can be of use in the world. With

the eyes of faith we can see God's care and purpose everywhere.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may have a seeing eye. I pray that with the eye of faith,

I may see God's purpose everywhere.

Standing For What You Believe In

Standing for what you believe in,

Regardless of the odds against you,

And the pressure that tears at your resistance,

...means courage

Keeping a smile on your face,

When inside you feel like dying,

For the sake of supporting others,

...means strength

Stopping at nothing,

And doing what's in your heart,

You know is right,

...means determination

Doing more than is expected,

To make another's life a little more bearable,

Without uttering a single complaint,

...means compassion

Helping a friend in need,

No matter the time or effort,

To the best of your ability,

...means loyalty

Giving more than you have,

And expecting nothing

But nothing in return,

...means selflessness

Holding your head high,

And being the best you know you can be

When life seems to fall apart at your feet,

Facing each difficulty with the confidence

That time will bring you better tomorrow's,

And never giving up,

...means confidence.

Perhaps two of the most pleasant words in Computer Lingo are the words:

"Mail Waiting." Come on, admit it. When you log on to your system at work or

your internet connection at home, the first thing you look for is whether or

not you have mail, isn't it? And aren't you just a little bit disappointed

when you log on and there is no mail in your In-Basket?

Congratulations, you're normal. Each of us enjoys receiving notes across the

net. Receiving a note shows that someone else is thinking about you; or they

need and value your input on an issue; or they want to update you on what is

happening with them; or they just want to say 'Hi.'

When "Mail is Waiting," you know the sender desires to communicate

specifically with you.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalms 119:105

Over the years, God has communicated in many different ways to many

different people. On one occasion, God communicated in a "still small

voice." On another, He spoke to Moses from a "burning bush." Then there was

a "voice from heaven" at Jesus' Baptism, and even an incident when Balaam's

donkey spoke to him. The list goes on and on - God using His infinitely

creative energy to communicate with His beloved creation.

But of all the ways that He has communicated with us, it is interesting that

one of the most effective, was also one of the simplest: He sent us a

letter. A note, if you will. Written by God, through men and sent across

centuries under the watchful eye of the Holy Spirit. (Note: this watchful

eye far exceeds any double-bit error protection system that we might ever

dream up!)

A note from God. A note that says He is thinking about us: always. A note

that says he desires our input back to Him: our worship, our praise, our

prayers. A note to update us on issues: issues that never change, like love

and life and trusting in Him. A note to just

say "Hello." Because, sometimes we forget that He is there, and we wander

off to struggle with life on our own.

Have you ever logged on to your system, saw the "Mail Waiting" indicator

turned on, then just logged back off without bothering to

check the mail:

"It's probably not important, I'll check it later, when I have more time."

"It's probably not meant for me. It was sent to the wrong ID and has no

meaning or relevance to me."

"I already have too much going on, the last thing I need is another note

making demands on my time."

God used thousands of people over thousands of years to send you a message

like none you have ever read before, or will ever read after. It is

important. It is relevant. It is demanding.

There is an old Book from a heavenly Father about the things you are dealing

with in your life even today. It's called the Bible. It has a "Mail Waiting"

light on it.

Check your Mail.

EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH

By Sally I. Kennedy

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm

150:6

The first Sunday, last December, we had driven up to a small town in

the northern part of our state. The little church came into view. Some

paint was needed, but its tall steeple still pointed heavenward. Musty

garlands and wreaths, that had been packed away for a year, were now

lovingly hanging over doorways, on window sills, and around the

altar.

The worship service opened and the choir sang a medley of traditional

Christmas hymns. Simple. No choir robes. No live music; they sang to a

track. There was a big sound, for a small group.

Up in the choir loft were persons of all ages. A young woman in a

trendy outfit, chewing gum and singing her heart out at the same time,

caught my eye. Then a middle aged, graying gentleman, wearing a bright

red tie, smiling while he sang.

I was worshipping, as they "made a joyful noise to the Lord". Then it

was that I noticed the woman at the end of front row. Snowy hair,

shorter than the rest, she stood tall with purpose. Wow. How cool to

watch this dear soul, probably well into her eighties, singing and

praising the Lord.

The verse from the Bible came to mind, "Let everything that has

breath, praise the Lord." It was good to be reminded. There's a

saying, "There's no retirement for a Christian." This is true. And as

long as we live, as long as we have breath, it is good to praise the

Lord.

Praise the Lord!

Each time you warmly greet a stranger

or beam a heartfelt smile,

you pass along

the effects lingering for awhile.

Each time you help a friend

or a neighbor you do not know,

you give of

and the effects just grow and grow

Each time you stop to listen

or judge not anothers' trials,

you show

then the effects travel for miles

Each time you console a burdened heart

or shoulder someone's tears,

you spread

the effects passing on for years.

Each time you "Love thy neighbor"

as He has always loved you,

you light a candle of

to last a lifetime through

Although our lives may differ greatly

our strengths and weaknesses may vary too

I know you are a special soul

because He brightly shines through you!

Now, if I can share but one small message

to you, my friend, I say:

hold on to this important promise

He has spoken every day...

"Each time you need a hand

or a friend to walk with you,

Remember I am always near

and My love is always true."

Gloria: That is good news about Erma. So glad for all of you. Mmm..raspberries on shortcake.

Grandson should be going home later tomorrow so it's going to be quiet around here.

But at least they live only a few minutes away.

Will check in again later.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello To All!

For those with challenges of many sorts, I keep you I my highest thoughts for the best. To all who post/read, the same.

Gloria, you sure do enjoy yummies in the Summer - that dessert sounded delish.

My blessings I will share - Had good news on Friday. Went to see the museum exhibit on Pompeii yesterday with my husband. Well done and yet unfortunate for those who perished. In their loss, science has studied and gained knowledge on such natural disasters so that we do not have to fear such natural disasters. Then lunch at a Japanese eatery we both enjoy and my husband purchased some jewelry for me that he wanted me to have. It's simple and dressy and very versatile.

I daily give thanks and appreciation for this nation, her citizens, her military, her allies, her resources, her resilience, her strength, her beauty, her bounty, and all her privileges. I go within to the quiet place to find source, I uncover peace and love beyond measure. Be at peace and know you are loved.
