Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Cold day today - I'm staying in - yesterday all afternoon out in the cold wind with Lori shopping etc. was enough for me!! Linus stayed home and dog sat and napped, and took it easy - he's off to work now - 4 hours from 4 to 8. Hope he does well and sells a lot! This job is surely a blessing - and it's a blessing I got to go to the Palm Sunday Mass last night at the Cathedral with Lori - it was so good to be there, and Lori got a lot out of it. I just wish I was good at making nice palms like my Mom and sisters can. But I do have some very decorative ones that Sister LaDonna (my sister) gave me for my birthday some years ago, they are always on display - they are so artistic and beautiful and blessed! Yesterday morning's Mass at our Parish was good too, but last night's was even better! Here's wishing you all a very Blessed and holy Holy Week, and may you all come closer to Jesus Who loves us so much He died for us!!! Praise the Name of Jesus!

Good is always coming to you. No matter what is happening in your life,

you can bless it with prayer and be peaceful. Lord, You give me the courage

to face any situation confidently and victoriously.

Scripture for the day:

"Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up

and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundred-fold." And

he said, 'Let anyone with ears to hear listen!'" ~Mark 4:8-9

Meditation for the day:

God's kingdom on earth is growing slowly, like a seed in the ground.

In the growth of God's kingdom there is always progress among the few

who are out ahead of the crowd. We can keep striving for something

better and there does not need to be stagnation in our lives. Eternal

life, abundant life can be ours for the seeking. We need not misspend

time over past failures. We can count the lessons learned from

failures as rungs upon the ladder of progress. We can press onward

toward the goal.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be willing to grow. I pray that I may keep stepping

up on the rungs of the ladder of life.

"Does God Cry?"

A little girl once asked, "Mommy does God cry?"

"Don't be silly, God can't cry baby," her mother replied.

"But what about when He looks down from Heaven above

And sees all the people who needs His love?

And what about when He looks down and sees

The playground kids fall and scrape their knees?

Or how about Aunt Jane who can't have baby girls or boys?

Or what about the poor kids who gets no Christmas toys?

Maybe God would cry if He lived with my friend Tommy.

Whose daddy beats and bruises him and his mommy.

Or maybe if He looked down and saw people being killed,

I think He'd surely have eyes that are tear filled.

But I think most of all, mommy, what would have made God cry,

Is when He looked down at the cross and watched His baby die."

The mother stood in silence as her eyes filled with tears,

For she knew her little girl was wise beyond her years.

Staring into deep blue eyes, the mother found courage to say,

"Yes baby girl, I think God looks down and cries every day."

God Bless you and keep you safe in Jesus' arms!

NEVER GIVE UP

Author Unknown

One day a young lady was driving along with her father.

They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, What

should I do?"

He said "keep driving". Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm

was getting worse.

"What should I do." The young lady asked?

"Keep driving," her father replied.

On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling

over. She told her dad, "I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It

is terrible, and everyone is pulling over!"

Her father told her, "Don't give up, just keep driving!"

Now the storm was terrible, but she never stopped driving, and soon

she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was

again on dry land, and the sun came out.

Her father said, "Now you can pull over and get out."

She said "But why now?"

He said "When you get out, look back at all the people that gave up

and are still in the storm, because you never gave up your storm is

now over.

This is a testimony for anyone who is going through "hard times".

Just because everyone else, even the strongest, gives up. You don't

have to...if you keep going, soon your storm will be over and the sun

will shine upon your face again.

This story touched me! I hope it touched you, too !!!

God loved the world so much that he gave his

one and only Son so that whoever believes in him

may not be lost, but have eternal life.

JOHN 3:16

He looked around the hill and foresaw a scene. Three figures hung on

three crosses. Arms spread. Heads fallen forward. They moaned with the

wind.

Men clad in soldier's garb sat on the ground near the trio....

Women clad in sorry huddled at the foot of the hill....faces

tear-streaked.

All heaven stood to fight. All nature rose to rescue. All eternity

poised to protect. But the Creator gave no command.

"It must be done...." he said, and withdrew.

The angel spoke again. "It would be less painful...."

The Creator interrupted softly: "But it wouldn't be love."

Dreams Are ...

Dreams are a big part of our Lives

and You must do whatever it takes

to make them a Reality;

by the plans you make,

the course you take,

and the things you do.

Don't dwell on past mistakes.

Leave yesterday behind,

along with all it's problems,

worries and doubts.

Realize you can't change the past,

but you can start a new tomorrow.

Don't try to do everything at once;

take one step at a time,

Don't ever be afraid to try the Impossible

no matter what others may think.

Remember you are Unique

in your own special way.

Don't ever stop Dreaming!

Don't ever stop wanting what's right for you!

Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will.

Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.

Protect me in the midst of danger.

Comfort me in my afflictions.

Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,

your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

John 19:37 - And there is another scripture that says, "People will look at

him whom they pierced."

1 John 4:8 - Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:16 - God is love, and whoever lives in love lives in union with God

and God lives in union with him.

Mother Teresa said...

If you are searching for God and do not know where to begin, learn to pray

and take the trouble to pray every day. You can pray at work - work doesn't

have to stop prayer and prayer doesn't have to stop work. Tell Him

everything, talk to Him. He is our father, He is to us all whatever religion

we are. We are all created by God, we are his children. We have to put our

trust in Him, believe in Him, work for Him. And if we pray, we will get all

the answers we need.

A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends

O great Saint Peregrine,

you have been called,

"The Mighty", "The Wonder Worker",

because of the numerous miracles

which you obtained from God

for those who have turned to you in their need.

For so many years,

you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease

that destroys the very fiber of our being.

You turned to God when the power of human beings

could do no more,

and you were favored with the vision of Jesus

coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction.

I now ask God to heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:

(Here mention their names).

Aided by your powerful intercession,

I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude to God

for His great goodness and mercy.

Amen.

DIRECTIONS TO HIS HOUSE

Author Unknown

(I always love to read this – it’s an oldie but goodie!)

Make a Right onto "Believeth Blvd."

Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.

From there, you must turn onto the "Bridge of Faith," which is over

troubled water.

When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight.

You are on the "King's Highway" - Heaven-bound.

Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and

One for the Holy Ghost.

Then exit off onto "Grace Blvd."

From there, make a Right turn on "Gospel Lane."

Keep Straight and then make another Right on "Prayer Blvd."

As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on "Temptation Ave."

Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END.

Pass up "Envy Drive," and "Have Avenue."

Also, pass "Hypocrisy Street," "Gossiping Lane" and "Backbiting

Blvd."

But you have to go down "Long-suffering Lane", "Persecution Blvd.,"

and "Trials and Tribulations Ave."

But that's all right, because VICTORY Blvd. is straight ahead!

God Bless

Blessings to all here....We should all be good to people even strangers. Jesus was good to everyone. He died for us all. Has anyone heard how Mother Angelica is? It's been years since I heard anything about her.

Have a good day. It is snowing here right now.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Thanks Harlene - yes, people, Lori was at her eye checkup yesterday and her left eye is fine, but the right one is blurry and she needs lots of prayers for it to heal, was said it's not healing. She goes back in a month instead of the 3 month checkup because of it. Please pray for the healing of her right eye!

Bobbiesue - I googled about Mother Angelica and this is what I found:

On April 20th, Mother Angelica celebrated her 90th birthday. For the past 11 years, she has suffered from the effects of a stroke and brain surgery and has been bed-ridden for the past 5 years.. This may not seem like a miracle but some doctors would say it comes pretty close. For her Sisters who take care of Mother, it is obvious that she has not refused the suffering but has embraced it. Mother has had a great deal of suffering and pain in her life, but it has never made her bitter or resentful. She knew God had a purpose for it and she has accepted it as a blessing.

Gloriajean: I hope Lori's eye will heal quickly! My Dad used to make crosses out of our palms. Back then we would get so many of them, but now everyone is limited as to how many you can take.

Bobbiesue: Hope you are feeling better with your COPD.

Harlene: It's so important to remember all the good we have, even in our most trying times.

Have a beautiful day, everyone.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Cakers - We pray for her healing of her right eye! It was scary when on her way home from Mpls. she said they were concerned about it and want to see it again in a month, and that it needs a lot of prayers! My Mom used to braid the palms, but then she got more of them to work with!

Bobbiesue - Praying for your healing of that COPD! May God remove that from your body, and help you to breathe much better!!! Praise the Name of the Lord!
