Hello my friends! Today's blessing was a beautiful spring day - guess it got up to 70 degrees, nice to sit in the patio and have our meals there again. Praise God Linus' feet didn't hurt him at work today - I keep praying they stop hurting, let's see, I think it was last Wed. when he came home and they were sore. He works 7 hours on Wednesdays but he did have some sitting time today and that all helps. What's a great blessing for him is also a blessing for me!! Tomorrow Lori's having a client do her kitchen - paint the cupboards and paint the countertop to look like granite. She did her kitchen and it looks lovely, and Lori does massages for it in trade. So I will be dog-sitting Ollie tomorrow - that energetic dog who just loves to play ball all the time, and now that the snow is almost all melted he loves it outside!! Tomorrow Linus will be gone to a twins game - some friends had tickets to use up - hope he has a good time.
Forgiveness frees the heart and moves us from the victim to the one who
is in control of our lives. Lord, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us.
Scripture for the day:
"For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their
life?" ~Matthew 16:26
Meditation for the day:
It is the quality of my life that determines its value to those around me.
In order to judge the value of a person's life, we can set up a standard.
The most valuable life is one of honesty, purity, unselfishness and love.
All our lives can be measured against this standard in determining their
value to the world. by this standard, most of the so-called heroes of
history were not great people. "For what will it profit them if they gain
the whole world but forfeit their life?"
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be honest, pure, unselfish and loving. I pray that I may
make the quality of my life good by these standards.
1. The best way to get even is to forget...
2. Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death...
3. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts...
4. Some folks wear their halos much too tight...
5. Some marriages are made in heaven,
but they ALL have to be maintained on earth...
6. Unless you can create the WHOLE universe in 5 days,
then perhaps giving "advice" to God, isn't such a good idea!
7. Sorrow looks back, worry looks around,
and faith looks up...
8. Standing in the middle of the road is dangerous.
You will get knocked down by the traffic from both ways.
9. Words are windows to the heart.
10. A skeptic is a person who when he sees
the handwriting on the wall, claims it's a forgery.
11. It isn't difficult to make a mountain out of a molehill,
just add a little dirt.
12. A successful marriage isn't finding the right person
- it's being the right person.
13. The mighty oak tree was once a little nut
that held its ground.
14. Too many people offer God prayers,
with claw marks all over them.
15. The tongue must be heavy indeed,
because so few people can hold it.
16. To forgive is to set the prisoner free,
and then discover the prisoner was you.
17. You have to wonder about humans, they think
God is dead and Elvis is alive!
18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every
now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.
19. You'll notice that a turtle only makes progress
when it sticks out its neck.
20. If the grass is greener on the other side of the fence,
you can bet the water bill is higher.
You are richer today if you have laughed, given or forgiven.
A Prayer for Loved Ones
Lord, be their Shepherd,
Keep them with the flock,
Watch them and tend him,
Be their solid rock.
Don't let them falter,
Don't let them fall,
Wait with them, Father,
Be there for their call.
Hold their hand firmly,
The path grows so steep,
Wipe their tears gently,
Should they start to weep.
Teach them to follow,
In Your humble way,
Help them to walk,
In Your shadow each day.
Strengthen their body,
Weaken their will,
Should they deny You,
Stay with them still.
Give them Your shoulder,
On which they may rest,
Embrace them warmly,
Next to Your breast.
Please place Your hand,
Upon their dear head,
And give them Your blessing,
As their spirit is fed.
Quiet their mind,
Comfort their soul,
Put peace in their heart,
Make their life whole.
Give them a vision,
Of Your tender smile,
Let them feel loved,
All of the while.
PRAYER FOR
TRUE FRIENDSHIP
Jesus, loving companion of Your children,
You have extended Your friendship to all.
You opened Your arms without discrimination,
Offering Your warmth to those seeking comfort.
Endow me with the virtue of such a friendship,
To know, love and trust all on an equal basis;
To share my patronizing without favorism,
And to be pleasant towards the destitute.
Fashion my heart to reflect Your qualities,
Those befitting of a cordial association.
Jesus, You showed me the way to true friendship:
Blessed is Your amazing and warm Person!

Blessings to all here. Glad Linus is doing well at work. My COPD is still acting up. Please pray for me. It is so hard to breath. Thank you.
I want to start going to morning mass once the warm weather comes. There is such peace there.

phluphy - that is so good to read! I'm happy you can feel uplifted - God knows exactly what you need and He provides it. He does it all!
Bobbiesue - sorry to hear you are still having trouble breathing - Do you need to go back to the doctor for more medicine? Do you use a thing that pumps air into your mouth? Lori has something like that for her Asthma. Praying daily for you, dear.
Serenity - thanks - he is feeling better now.
