I have wide calves (> 17) and a budget, so I'm limited in my choices, unfortunately...

Fall is coming soon and I really want to get into the tall/riding boot trend that has become a fashion staple for so many. Smiley Happy

There are three pairs at QVC - BareTraps Paramount & Sheridan & Clarks Vicky 2 - that I'm eying (and one at Lane Bryant), but I'm wondering if I should wait to see what comes out in the next couple of months. The Vicky 2-W is available in my size (6 1/2), but I'm right on the border of M/W foot width and can usually go either way. With boots/heals, I think I'd prefer a wide to avoid toe-pinch, though.

hum....all three are very nice and you clearly, can't go wrong with your choice. My recommendation, get it now while they have your size and color choices. This will give you the max amount of time to wear them as well as be sure you get what you want. All three are right in style! Smile

Ella, I have the bare traps with the ruching, the one on the right and I love them!! Comfy, comfy, comfy!! I have them in the saddle tan color tho, but I'm not sure that's the correct color name. :/ I too would get them now because sometimes they only receive one order a year. Good luck! HTH

Thank you both for your responses!!

I couldn't decide and ended up buying both pairs of BareTraps. {#emotions_dlg.wub} If I don't absolutely love one or the other, I'll send it back. I thought it would be best to see both in person, though!

I'm on the fence with a pair of OTK boots at Nordstrom. Waiting to see if the price will drop, taking the chance they'll be sold out in my size. Decisions.

I have the Clarks pair myself. They are SO comfy and I still get compliments on them every time I wear them. It's been close to a year now that I've had them.

I bought them because I could never find a tall boot for my wider calf and these were to apparently fit the bill. And did they ever. Truth be told, I could probably get away with buying the "regular" Vicky boot instead of the Vicky 2 there's so much room. Now, don't get me wrong. They aren't ginormous or anything like that. It's just there's enough "give" to them that I could comfortably wear the regular ones I think. And did I mention that they were comfy? Heehee! I'm not in a big rush to take them off when I get home like I am with some of my other shoes.

Anyway, these boots are my suggestion. I'm seriously considering buying them in black too. Why not? I mean, if it works well....right? {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

The majority of new styles have been released and shipped by now. Wide calf boots, and wide in general, sell out first. Don't dither too long or you will lose out completely.
