Bought a pair last year and love the comfort and fit. But now a year later the fabric on the footbed is worn through in several spots exposing the foam underneath...and these slippers aren't cheap...extremely disappointed in their customer service also..i emailed them about this situation and have yet to receive a reply....

I quit Orthoheel shoes. The footbed rubs sores on my feet. I went to Naot made in Israel with cork footbeds that conform to MY foot and are SOOOOO comfortable and gives my foot support. Depending on the style, they cost a little more but each shoe is hand made and soooo worth it.

I just threw my second pair away. They may be great for some, but I've decided I won't buy another pair. Neither pair lasted a year before getting torn/worn and just plain slimy. My Acorn brand, made of wool, were lots less expensive and are actually cool and comfortable even right now. Just my take - doesn't make them a bad product.

I know what the OP means. I bought a pair and loved them. Then I bought a second pair months later and they were terrible.
I didn't send them back but I can't wear them. Like most things they went downhill.

I wear the Orthoheel slippers when I am at home, all the time, everyday. I am on my second pair. The fabric on the first pair did wear out. But considering how much I wore them, I think they held up well enough. I had them at least a year. If I could find another brand of supportive slippers, I would be willing to try something else.

I have always been skeptical that everyone needs an orthotic. But that's how this brand is being represented to us, that everyone has a pronation of some sort. I thought about trying a pair and what stopped me was the materials they were made out of. I do best with a high grade leather shoe.
I just went into a local old-fashioned shoe store that carries all kinds of high end shoe brands just to see how I felt about Alegria.... I was so impressed, I came out with a pair! The clerk made sure I was in the right size, that I walked well in them, etc. etc. I bought the Fisherman's style. I know that the Q carries them but I wanted to be absolutely sure the fit was right before I bought. Now that I have the correct size, I can buy another color from the Q if I want to...
BTW, Alegria is incredible. Even lined in leather! I can actually wear them without socks or stockings they are that comfortable. The company got their start as Diabetic Footwear specialists. I have mild diabetic neurophy in my feet along with bunions and I can't wear just anything. I think I have found THE shoe for me..
Just thought I'd share...
