Kipling: you could go on "Survivor" with this bag

I love my beautiful handbags (I call them B'Bags), however, often times reality sets in and I am in for a long day, serious weather, not to mention neck and shoulder owies. Enter Kipling. I LOVE this brand. I received an e-mail talking about the "Machida" style, but I found it for less than $79.00 over at Amazon. Received it today and it is a winner. Lots of medium size zippered or velcro closures. Fits my big old wallet, a small cosmetic case, glasses, tissues, advil, an iphone 5. Pen holder and little pockets for coupons and a zippered inside spot for your keys and a wider non slippery strap. I got the black. I have 9 Kiplings (I went and counted) and my first love was the Defea. But this style is a welcome addition. Just thought I would pass this along. Spot clean these guys and the zippers NEVER stick. Last for years.

My first love: Defea/></p> <p> </p> <p>My new fav: Machida</p> <p> </p> <p><img src= Product Details

Full disclosure: there is a slight wave in the zipper if that compartment is not stuffed (as in the navy pictured above), so if that bothers you, please be aware. Mine is somewhere in between the 2 pictures, just a slight wave due to the nature of the material. It doesn't bother me.

Re: Kipling: you could go on ""Survivor"" with this bag

I have been wanting that Defea. Interesting I would see this now. I was on my computer this morning trying to find the best price for it. Most places wanted $89. for it. Do they ever go on sale? Also, do you like the plain or the shiny material. I am debating between the black or navy. Does it ever come in gray? That would be nice for summer. Most of my clothes would go with any of those colors. This would be my first Kipling handbag.

When shopping for a travel bag, I looked at Kipling bags at Macy's but ended up getting a Baggalini. Either would have been just fine, I'm sure.

Just a couple of years ago, this model bag came in beige, silver, gray, ruby red, animal print etc. Now it seems to be black and navy (matte finish). I haven't seen it go below $89.00. That's why I went hunting for a different style. I have a black lacquer that I love. I googled that one on Amazon and they want even more $$ for it now.

Defea Handbag

Take a look at the newer Dania on Kipling USA. Similar satchel style and comes in a variety of colors. On sale now for $54.99, down from $89.00. Again, a matte finish which is more casual in feel.

For a slicker animal print finish (in cocoa and black and gray) I went over to Baggallini and they excel at the crossbody style. Amazon and Zappos will often mark these down.

I have this one:

Amazon has it for under $63, not tax (depending on state) and no S&H.

Love Kipling bags. Very lightweight. Don't seem to carry too much in my purse, yet they're always heavy. At least these start out weighing practically nothing.

Thank you! I just saw your post and ordered it! Glad to get it at such a great price.

Thank you, too, Hi Cindy, for your information and pictures. It was hard to choose. I got on youtube and watched some women talking about the Defea and it seemed the one for me.

Aww, they still include the monkeys! {#emotions_dlg.wub}

(I haven't owned a Kipling bag since the early 90's)

I have switched over to Kipling bags for everyday use because they are so lightweight. I am so over heavy leather bags. I buy most of them at Macy's during their sales. I sell their attached monkey key chains on e-bay since I don't like them.

Re: Kipling: you could go on ""Survivor"" with this bag

I had a Kipling bag once, a small cross-body that transformed into a backpack. I loved it, but, alas, it got stolen (with all my stuff inside too!) {#emotions_dlg.glare}
