I really doubt that most women's handbags weigh that much......I heard her say it, too, but I think she's a bit off base.

Mine is slightly heavy to begin with, and it weighs 4.2 pounds with everything I carry. ${#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}$

Some bags weigh 2 pounds before anything is put in them. I have a niece who had a neck issue and had to have surgery. She was told she couldn't lift anything more than 10 pounds. Her handbag was sitting beside her, so the doctor picked it up and then told her to start with the handbag. Her wallet was as heavy as the bag, not to mention all the other things in the bag. I'm not saying it weighed 10 pounds but it was heavy.

Mine is over 15 pounds easy. I carry a ton of work stuff and gym stuff and a laptop.....

It would not surprize me if that person is carrying a computer and one of those very large heavy i phones. Some ladies do carry EVERYTHING they own. I carry very light bags to start with and then only the necessities. My purses are very very lightweight as i have neck issues and I'm cautious about aggravating it with a heavy purse.

I never weighed my handbag, but I doubt it ways that much even stuffed.

I cleaned out my wallet, especially all the change - that weighed a lot!

IPhones only weigh a few ounces.

ITA Brii. The change is so heavy, I dump it out a few times a week.

My handbag is not weighted down by my iphone either. ${#emotions_dlg.laugh}$ It's only about 3.5 oz. But then again, I do not have the 'very large heavy' iphone model.
