Anuschka Bags

Started 1356740460.417 in All About Handbags | Last reply 1361231933.803 by madcity411

Watching SNBC and hubby saw an Anuschka bag. He thought it was beatiful so I ordered it. I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't want it because of price ... $356.00 {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}. I would never pay that much for a bag, even with an outfit included. I received it and I'm trying to justify it.

Anyone know or had experience with this brand? Are these bags worth the price? Are they quality bags? Do colors last?

Beautiful bags but they run specials on them quite a bit and can get most of them around 150 or less on shop NBC just look for the next full shows to come up last week they still had several on clearance on the website but have not checked this week.

I have two Anuschka bags. I LOVE them and get so many wonderful comments on them. I have never had any problem with them at all!! I hope you enjoy it!

I didn't know if I'd like one....it is the only bag I carry that I always get a compliment every time I use it....the leather is not too thin and not too stiff......shopnbc has them on sale all the time....usually several ezpays and sometimes no shipping charges.......I think one is enough for me but I'd like to have a coin purse too.....

I have 6 Anuschka bags. Yes, I wait and watch for specials - during programmed shows.
I bought 3 bags (exact same style - different painted designs) and I carry one of them ALL the time. The bag your husband bought would be huge - which I don't like. I don't care for the big bags - so mine are all in the medium size range.

You can return yours - or exchange it for another bag - if you don't like the painted design. You can view them in the shopnbc website. They (like other shopping channels) will take returned items (for Xmas) until January 31, 2013. They have a customer service phone # if you need more assistance - on their website.

The leather is good, the artwork is excellent and I get many compliments. The bags are made in India and are well made.

Echscream, if you return an item to SNBC, will they refund the price of the item and the original shipping charge? I ordered 3 bags around Thanksgiving when they were offering them for a great price. They are beautiful but I'm just not sure about the (medium) size. I usually carry something smaller but not tiny.

I have 2 Anushka bags, one is a satchel and one is a cross body. They are truely well made and beautiful. However, I do not ever use them and here's why. The lining is black and I can never find anything. It's sad, really.

Lucky: no, the original shipping is not refunded unless the item is defective. And sometimes you have to 'convince' them it's defective. Also be sure if you return an item that you have a receipt from the carrier... either the post office (even if you use their prepaid return label) or ups or fed ex, and that the return is insured. Everything goes smoothly if you follow all the rules. But don't cut the dates close, they are not flexible. And if the package goes missing, you need to prove you sent it back.

I have a couple of the bags and they are expected quality, not fantastic quality, like a Ralph Lauren equestrian style bag, for example. Like someone else wrote, the black liner is a deal killer for me. No more bags with big black holes. It was so thoughtful of your DH to get that bag for you, though.

Honestly, even though they are hand painted, to me that does not justify the price. The art is basic, IMO.

Lavenderjunkie, thanks for the info.

The Bird, the bags I received a few weeks ago have dark bergundy "Anuschka" lining. Probably not quite as bad as having a black lining.

Thank all of you for advice and sharing experience with this brand.

Yes, the bag is large but I tend to carry a large bag. I also like a bag with organization. I especially like a bag with center zip compartment and wall pockets.

I did order this bag from SNBC. I'll check and see if there's another I like at lesser price.

Once again, thank you {#emotions_dlg.wub}

I have two of these bags, neither of which I have ever carried. I've studied them for ages trying to decide if they are arty or ugly. I finally decided they are not for me. I can imagine hand-painted bags being lovely but I really don't care for the overdone, garish designs on the Anushka bags, especially the ones with irridescent paint.

Enjoy your handbag. If they are as good as Jane Yoo it will last a very long time. Probably 20 years. My Jane Yoo bag did.............I would love to have another one like the one I had. I carried it with everything.

That sounds like a positive change. Mine are definitely black.

kachina, one of my bags, peacock design, has that irridescent paint just on the feather accents. I never realized it until your post. I'd prefer to not have it, so it could age and fade more naturally and consistently.

I ordered the Top Value tote in October. I've been wanting to try an Anuschka for ages and finally took the plunge. I've had the bag sitting out in my den next to my desk for decoration as it is so pretty. I'll probably move into it soon as it's more appropriate for spring. The colors have seemed to darken already in the short couple of months I've had it. I'm wondering how it is going to hold up with use. It has the purple lining as well.

Guess what ladies, I ordered another Anuchka bag. You were right, once you get your first you go back for more. Now I have 3 {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}. That's enough .... unless I see another good sale on SNBC {#emotions_dlg.w00t}.

I have not purchased one of these myself, but I have seen them on sale at our local TJ Maxx now and then. A lot lower prices than on the shopping channels around the dial, so to speak.

Still not "inexpensive", but saving $100 is saving $100.

I watched one of the shows a while back and the bags are beautiful - not sure I could handle a handbag like that but I think i could manage a totebag and wallet.

Not familiar with Jane Yoo handbags. Where are they made?
