If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem...

Agree or disagree?

I tend to agree...with this bb, as well as IRL...

I think sometimes we're part of the problem and don't even realize it...

I know in many instances I am...then when I take the time to step back from the problem and take a good, long, honest, and hard look, I see it loud and clear...

Now becoming part of the solution is easier said than done though...{#emotions_dlg.crying}

I totally agree Billie,

Especially about the boards, if one steps back and doesn't post on certain threads, it is easy to see that you haven't added to the problem.

But, usually the problem is still there. Smile

I don't think you can solve a problem without getting into the problem. And some problems need solutions. On the other hand, there's another saying. If you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas. So you have to pick and choose your battles.

Have to agree...after the last few weeks i have decided one can get bogged down on the fighting threads, much of it stems from before my time and i do not have the whole story. That said i do have posters i prefer and at times have to seat on my hands from jumping in. It has gotten to the point that some of the threads play on my mind thru out the day so i have been stepping out of the threads that are contentious.

Perfect analogy, but at times hard to live by.

When someone tells you that you have changed, it simply means you have stopped living your life their way.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem...

Disagree.

99 percent of the time we don't have a clue what the real problem is, and much of the time the problem is created so that we will react in predictable ways to the problem and start begging for "somebody to do something". Then our leaders come in with their solution to a problem that was their goal all along.

Hard to distinguish the difference sometimes...kinda like you can't see the forest for the trees...you're too close to the situation...that's when it's time to step back I think...

Some problems take a joint effort and if everyone involved is not willing...well...

I agree. I am really trying hard on taking a 'vow of silence', and not to get myself into anything. Though at times it is hard, I just either sign off or because of the craziness on the boards, stay off.

Even reading and not signing in, something I used to enjoy doing, sometimes that isn't even worth it.

Some is having Twinkies and hot dogs and didn't offer me any? They're not having this good a selection at the wedding. I heard on GMA that Chelsea is a Vegan. Good for her but how will they feed and satisfy meat and junk food eaters like me?

Sorry for O/T - but I had to say this.

I hope your solutions come about as easily as possibleSmile and with much benefit to you, Billie.

I'm confused as to how, with everything going on in your life, one person instantly turned your topic to yet another thread of digs and innuendo about viewpoints? Oh well.

Be well.

Billie, are you saying if you don't water the flowers (so to speak) they will wither and die? If so, I might be understanding what you're saying...

Tough question Billie. I've noticed that on the BB and RL, trying to be the voice of reason (or part of the solution), can sometimes get you decapitated and you wind up having your head handed back to you on a plate. It's not an easy road to travel. There is much anger (valid or not) out there and many feel retribution is the only solution.

There are other ways in which one may contribute to the world and one's own family though. Sometimes, simply paying forward an act of kindness, or taking the road less traveled. None of us have all the answers.
