I had to change mine a few weeks ago. I received an email like yours. I wasn't sure whether or not it was legit. I went to the bank branch I deal with and talked to the manager. She allowed me to use her computer and the request appeared again. She called someone who said it was legit.

I haven't even received an email.....I just did an on-line chat and they confirmed it, but I was still leery.

Not today, but about 2 months ago I was asked to do this also. My password was only 4 numbers and no letters, they wanted more with letters and numbers. My Site key remained the same. I use B of A online banking all the time.

I've never been asked to change my username, I've had the same one for years. It seems like they ask for a password change every 90 days or so.

Now that I think of it, it wasn't an email. The same page you posted came up when I logged in. Like Shelbelle said, the site key did not change. My old log in was my account number and my password was 6 numbers. The new ones are alpha-numerical.

I just logged into my account and did not receive that message. I don't think I've ever been asked by them to change anything.

This is the first time I've been asked in about 2.5 years.

I did get an email from BOA that did NOT look legit to me, therefore I did not reply to it or enter any information. I don't trust those emails that come in like that.

Forward the email to abuse@bankofamerica.com, and they'll let you know if it's legit.

We were asked to do this about a month ago. The passwords we had were not secure enough. It was a legitimate request from Bank of America.

BUT, if you are skeptical as to the origin of the email then call Bank of America first thing tomorrow morning, or go to the bank branch and have a customer service agent help you change your passwords.

Hasn't been too long ago that DH and I were asked to change ours too.

I logged in earlier today, and again just a minute ago - same as always - no request for any changes.

When I inquired with the bank manager and she called someone, she said they were updating the entire system. As I used my account number and only a 6 number password, my choices were considered weak. Maybe you have a stronger user name and password, or it could just be a matter of time before you see the request when you log in.

I was asked to change this information about 2 months ago, it's a better way to try and fend off hackers.

One financial site I deal with makes me change my password every 90 days. Seems a bit like overkill to me. But if it keeps me safe, I'm for it.

I didn't get an e-mail but I was prompted to change my password when I logged on to pay some bills last week. The fact that I logged on through my own bookmark and saw my site-key made me comfortable.

I brought stamps online from the USPS, and had to change my passcode to something stronger.

I signed onto BOA this am and pm - no such request.

BUT -- I just purchased a new IMAC and have been going for lessons @ Apple Store.

So I sign on last week & in my "inbox" (the acct. I use w/apple) is a great email telling me - I have just been awarded a "$50 gift certificate" from Apple Store/Itunes store. Not only did I receive 1 but 3 of these offers - even the address line said: "Itunesstore"

I was so excited ~ I called my son and said "Wow, I must be a great student!" -- he (works for APPLE) said "oh, mom do YOU really BELIEVE they would give something away for FREE!".........

I would have filled this out (inc. personal info) since they all seemed real as I am in classes.

So, beware - the other thing I rec'd was an email to UPDATE my CU information. NOT-

just thought I'd share in case anyone else received this great offer from Apple!

Everyone should include not only one number (at least) in your password but uppercase letters here and there where you'd least expect it.

I received the same request. I have never had an account with BOA. I forwarded a copy of the email to my ISP for an investigation, and checked by credit reports.

I would verify any such request with my bank before responding.
