Getting annoyed with my dentist.

When we moved to the town we currently live we we discovered that our dental insurance was only accepted by a couple of dentists here and not a single "specialist" like a periodontist took it. My choices were limited and the dentist I was seeing was a very small practice (one dentist, one hygenist and the receptiionist) THey did not have any of the latest modern dental equipment. We decided to change dental insurance and selected a policy that is much more widely accepted here. I got a couple of recommendations on another dentist to see and this practice is very big (5-6 dentists) 6 or so hygenists and 5 people in the front office. THey have all the up to date dental equipment.

So what is the problem? I don't like the fact that I feel that they are constantly trying to "Upsell" me to get additional work done. I have a check up and a cleaning every 4 months and on the whole my teeth are in good shape. However every time I go in for a vist they tell me that I have crowns that need to be replaced or old fillings that need to come out and be re-done. By the time I am finished with the cleaning and have my coat on and headed to the receptionist area they have already checked my dental inurance benefits on line to see what they will cover and then they have this entire "treatment plan" all printed out which they want me to sign to agree to undergo this additional work. I just feel like I am being pushed into signing up for work that I may or may not need. Anyone have any suggesstions on how to handle???
