Tear off money pads?

Do any of you know which bank, if any offer the tear off money pads filled with new $1 bills?

Years ago someone gave them to my children as Christmas gifts and they are a great stocking stuffer. I've tried google and can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in Michigan - Detroit Metro area.

I do the same as sunshine45 ... two dollar bills and Susan B. Anthony silver dollars ...

For baby gifts, I buy a silver piggy bank at Things Remembered and have the name engraved and place five Susan B's in the bank ...

Hi, border...I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't think I've seen them in years and years. I'm in Michigan, too!

I wonder if you could get this done at a printing/binding type shop.

Bring in your own atack of bills and ask them to bind them like a note pad.

The mint prints dollars in sheets - like wrapping paper - and they are then cut. I don't think a bank would have pads like the ones you are describing.

But, just in case, try the US mint website.

Our bank used to do that and may still. Fun idea.........when my son was younger he loved it. Surely someone still does it.

thats a cute idea for a baby gift! i will have to remember that..... i love the dollar coins and the two dollar bills. the kids AND teens think they are so special and dont want to spend them.... a great way to teach them to save. Wink

on their birthdays i always give a two dollar bill and the dollar coins in the amount of their age (when they were 13 i gave them 13 gold coins and a two dollar bill). for christmas i do the same..... a two dollar bill and this year a bag of 11 gold coins (for the year 2011).

I've made these myself with $2 bills.

Get some new bills from the bank

If you want interesting covers - you can find papers at the craft store

Cut the covers to the bill size

stack everthing up - clamp near the end of one side then brush on glue - you can use a foam brush - -- I use my finger. I usually do 3-4 thin coats. They do sell notepad glue at the craft store - but I use elmers.

there are also many websites that have directions for making notepads of moneypads if you need more help.

My grandma used to get all of us 50.00 in a checkbook holder for Christmas. She lived in the Detroit area also. The bank she used to get them from was Security Bank - which isn't around anymore. I have been looking for them too - to give to my niece and nephew.
