Help! UPS tracking says pkg. was delivered and it hasn't been! What do I do?

Started 1316218673.127 in Viewpoints | Last reply 1316466286.37 by taffy apple

I had a package sent to my home and it was sent UPS. It was to be delivered today while I wasn't home. When I do the tracking it says "left at front desk". This is not an office, it is my house. I don't get it. I do have a business, but I was there today and it wasn't delivered there. My husband also has a business and he has looked high and low.

Isn't it strange there the address isn't listed as to WHAT front office it was left at?

I'm getting crabby! LOL

When I call UPS, I just get recordings and none of the selections fit my problem and I can't get a REAL person.

The place I made the purchase from is closed til Monday.

How can I get a real person from UPS to tell me WHERE they left my package?

I forget how you get a real person there, but I know you can. Is hitting zero not helping?

I wouldn't worry, this is something they deal with a lot, so they're usually able to figure it out for you. Smile

Thank you Lazy_daisy! I hit 0 and got a person. Wow, they said my address had been changed by UPS because my address was invalid. I get stuff all the time to my address. This is crazy. They did have the correct address and I guess they just made one up and delivered it a mile away to a business and they signed for it.

Of course, there office is closed til Monday so I still can't say I'm getting my package for sure. They said they didn't know if it was locked up in the office or not. All they had was an answering service.

Oh well, I'm sure I will get it eventually!

Thanks you Lazy!!!

They should have a street address where it was dropped off.....You can reach people at UPS on the week-ends.........Good Luck

My DS has had problems with UPS also. He lives in Chicago suburbs. He ordered something from Amazon, and it was supposed to be delivered on a certain day. No package. UPS wasn't much help so he contacted Amazon, and they re-sent the item, no charge. Same thing, said it was delivered but it wasn't. He lives in a community where there are the same house numbers on several streets, so all he could think was that it was delivered to a house with his same number and the people there kept the packages.

We still don't know what happened, but he avoids ordering things that will be shipped UPS.

I had the same thing happen a couple of days ago, it said it was delivered on 9/6 and it wasn't. I called QVC up and told the customer service rep and she told me they would send another right out.

Ask them if they're SURE they delivered it to YOUR address...that happened to me once. They swore (at first they didn't), but later found out that they did...it was a new guy and he mixed up my address with someone else. I finally got my order about a month later.

Is it possible it was turned over to USPS for the final leg of the trip to your home and the front desk is the post office where you live? This happened to me with an HSN product. I thought it was going all the way via UPS but went the final leg to post office before it came to my home-- it delayed the delivery by a day too!{#emotions_dlg.angry}

My neighbor was nice enough to deliver mine, to my front porch from his, one evening.

I once got an eBay package addressed to a neighbor. His address was an anagram of mine, exactly the same numbers, but in a totally different order. eg, if my address were 1024 75th St, his would be 1204 57th St. That was a seriously dyslexic delivery person.

The other address was only about half a mile away, so I walked it round there and left it on their porch.

Also don't discount the possibility that it could have been stolen. My UPS man is nice enough to take larger packages to my back door.

mima,

Every time I've had to contact UPS I called their "800" number and had no problem getting to talk with a "live person". We live in an area with very few houses and have had the same UPS driver for all 11+ years we have lived here. Have never had this problem here, but we did when we lived in our Townhome prior to moving here.

That's about all I can suggest to you, and maybe it was left at the wrong address.

Something strange is going on with UPS. I ordered an item, when I entered the tracking # it said delivered to an adddress in Wyoming, I live in another state. Then the next day I went back and found that it was in transit, then two days later I found that it was transferred to the post office. I finally received it. Maybe they are reusing tracking numbers.

After I check the UPS site to see about delivery, I call QVC. I call back a few days later and they send me another of the item if you haven't received the item by then.

I never bother with UPS proper.

I have had sooo many problems with UPS that I could not list them all, but I watched my UPS truck speed past my door one day. When I checked the tracking on-line it said the driver tried to deliver but no-one was home. That was amazing that he could "try to deliver" driving about 35mph past my house. I called UPS and got a person. The package was delivered the next day and I haven't seen the first driver since. There was also the time they took a very, very expensive diamond ring, that I had ordered, to the wrong house. Luckily I was outside at the time and saw what he was doing - otherwise my neighbor would have had a very nice, unexpected, Christmas present! Now I request all my packages come through the post office. We have a great postman and I never have a problem.

I love my UPS guy he is the nicest man on earth, he has gone out of his way for us in more than one instance. He know what he is doing and my packages usually arrive between 2-3 PM. I can tell when he is on vacation, deliveries are much later and at times left downstairs at the mail boxes instead of in front of my door.

Decided to change up my SN a bit, and maybe this is a bit clearer :)

Yes, they do re-use tracking numbers.

{#emotions_dlg.scared} You have a tracking number that you can get from your statement online from QVC . Good luck to you on this one.

I've only had one package not delivered right here. Must have been a fill in guy/girl. It was delivered down the street. The lady didn't even look at the name, she'd opened it up and put the stuff away.

Cheese with that whine?

My package was delivered a mile away to a business. I called them and could only get their answering service. I have to wait til Monday. It makes me mad because UPS said that UPS themselves changed the address since mine was invalid. Mine is NOT invalid. They had the address right the first time and I guess they just picked an address to deliver it to!!!!

I just hope I get it. It makes me mad. This is a big box (6 boxes) of new coffees for my Keurig. I should be drinking it right now. Not cheap either!

Thank you all for your replies.

BTW, I have NEVER had trouble with UPS before. The guys know me, so a new guy must have been working yesterday.

Woohoo! Got my package. I contacted the people that got it and they brought it into my store this morning.

By the way, it had MY correct address on it and their address was no where on the package.

Get this: When we first moved to this town, over 30 years ago, the phone number we were given had been for the local UPS office. We got calls day and night for people wanting UPS! They had switched to a new 800 number, and it was in the book, but people for some reason wanted to call the local number. Man, I had almost forgotten about that!
