Where is the best place to buy a Kindle E- Reader?

Started 1292332772.78 in Viewpoints | Last reply 1292360774.99 by battyoldbroad

I have been watching the papers and they never seem to go on sale or I am just missing the sales. The price I am seeing is for the latest one that is $189.00 at Amazon and Target I haven't checked out Best Buy yet. Have you seen it cheaper than this price?

TIA

Best Buy is always out of them. I bought two this year as gifts and am thinking of a third--all from Amazon.

I bought the Kindle 3 at Target for $139.00. I think this is the one without 3G which is okay for me because I just use this as a reader. Love it!!!

Butterfly,

I think it's one of those things where the price is the price no matter where you go, no sales on them.

I think CelticCrafter is correct. Unless you buy a used one. I purchased mine from Amazon because there is no sales tax and there was free shipping. The sales tax in our area is too high.

Please excuse the OT, butterfly.

Hey Soushi,

I miss seeing your posts. I wish you posted more. Your grape salad recipe is a staple in my house during the summer.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!! {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Definitely Amazon (for the reasons stated above) plus you have a one year warranty included. When my Kindle 1 (3 years old) stopped working, I called Amazon, returned it to them and had my chocie of a Kindle 2 for $89 or a Kindle 3 credit of $75 (we chose the latter--and it was our 2nd Kindle 3). Also Amazon's customer service is super and right now both Kindle 3 models are in stock. BTW buy a cover (I chose Amazon's lighted cover in apple green).

Since Kindle is an AMAZON product, they control the price - I watched for months before I bought mine directly from Amazon. Doubt if they'll be discounted until the 'next generation' kindle comes out again.
