They come in frozen to restaurants......try a slice over night , before you throw the whole thing in maybe. Or, if you're making it yourself....freeze the cake and make the frosting when you take it out to thaw.

I was going to suggest this same thing. Put it in the fridge. Cut a slice and put it in the freezer and see how it freezes. I really don't see why you couldn't freeze it, as clemintine says - they come frozen to the restaurants. HTH

It sure sounds like you can freeze it.

If not, then eat it so it doesn't go to waste. That would be a sin! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

absolutely you can freeze it

it is only DH and myself now but I still whip out a mean Italian Cream Cake occasionally.....it has the cream cheese frosting (DH would rather have that than the cake!) and I cut it up and freeze in lock&locks......when we want something sweet late at night I pull out a couple of pieces and let them thaw.....and they are perfect

My sister who lives in another State justed asked if I would send her a pumpkin/cream cheese frosting roll. I was wondering if I could freeze and then send it over night.

Yes you can freeze cream cheese icing. I am a cake decorator many products come in frozen with cream cheese icing. It will be just fine.

Yes, but make sure it's in an airtight container. I wouldn't want anything to touch the icing. Lock & Lock would be great for that.
