Ok... what do age 10, almost 11 year old girls like?

Or she might be 9, almost 10- I really can't remember.

I'm looking for suggestions in the non gift card category (already giving her one).

Her father said she likes iCarly, but when I look at the iCarly merchandise, it all really looks too young for her.

She doesn't have pierced ears.

I got her a few books, a pair of the cute cupcake socks from Bath and Body Works and a Target gift card. But I'm looking for something else. Have no idea what that something else is.

Do you know what she 'likes'? If you mentioned iCarly and she likes it, great! I don't believe anything is 'too young' or 'too old'...if the kid likes it, than get it! :) My one niece who is turning 11 in less than a month likes anything fashion themed, so I've been pretty successful in getting her make your own fashion/craft kits! She LOVES them! Also, no one else gets her these (who knows why!?!?!) so she's thankful that I LISTENED to what she wants and got it for her! :) I'm a great aunt and she's happy, that's all I want! Good luck!

Another thing kids that age (really any age) like are XBox, Nintendo DS, or Wii games. Is there a game she likes but doesn't have?

My granddaughter is 11 and I just bought her LOOPZ. I know, I know..what the heck is that?!? She had it on her list so I had to look it up and see what it was all about. It's pretty cool actually. It's a game similar to Simon, remember that game? Or Bopit.Well, it's actually several things at once. It has a MEMORY level in which you repeat the beat, it has a FLEX level a tag like game, and a MUSIC level where you get to create your own music. It looks pretty fun and can be played alone or with up to 4 players. I just got it for $22 at walmart.

I don't think her mother lets her play video games.

Hair accessories might be a good one. She loved American Girl dolls, but I think she's past that now.

I was thinking a really cute nightshirt. A woman's small would work. But I want something quirky- like with quirky animals on it or something.

We're giving her a gift card to Target. I just wanted to get something else also. I'll look at the LOOPZ game.

Keep those suggestions coming!

How about a collectable of some kind. At her age this is a great time to start her collecting. Scrapbooking is also appropriate for her age. Get a few coupons from Michaels and get her started.

Some recs on collectibles: teddy bears, horses (if she likes them), perfume bottles, small boxes, hearts, animal figurines, etc...............

Little Miss sunshine- interesting that you mentioned collectibles.

She was at our house this summer and she'd just been to a gift shop with her dad and had bought a little glass animal figure. I have some Swarovski crystal flowers and animals, etc. I went to my curio cabinet and gave her a giraffe and whale to go with what she'd bought and she was THRILLED. So I was actually thinking about doing something like that.

I always suggest this.......No matter what age the female is.....I think starting a charm bracelet is a nice gift.....This way you and others can always add on to it for her. It's something she can keep the rest of her life.

I have a Great Granddaughter that age, she is just starting to like Jewelry. One of the things I bought for her Christmas is a Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet. (Kohls now has 60% off Sterling Silver). They didn't have charms in store, but I ordered a 'cell phone', and a 'flip flop' charm. The bracelet came with a Peace Sign charm. I had a 30% off coupon so that helped.

At that age, my daughter liked the jewelry making kits, craft kits that come complete in a box, a watch, a cute purse with lotions, nail polish, etc. A fun "sleep over/overnight bag".

Hope this helps!

When my two god-children were very young (pre-school age) I started a collection of expensive Christmas ornaments for each of them. To this day one of their favorite Christmas gifts is a new Christmas ornament. They're always excited to open it and see what it will be this year. (I've gotten them several Christopher Radko ornaments once they got older.)

You and I suggested the same thing....I think they are great as you can keep adding on to it.

I would ask the parents what groups she likes (CDs) and buy her one she doesn't have.

Or TV shows (DVDs).

Hair accessories often go over well in that age-group, too, if she has longer hair.

A friendship bracelet kit (ALEX makes a nice one, also Klutz books have them and other craft kits)

My niece got an American Girl Doll at age ten and another for her 11th b-day. Does your niece have these dolls? Accessories for them would be nice.

iCarly is ok, maybe a backpack, lunch box or somethng for school. Maybe pillow cases or a sheet set for her bed.

I'm curious as to why you don't know how old she is. There's a big difference between an 9 year old and an almost 12 year old. Here's what I know that 10 year old girls love:

1. Justin Beiber

2. Folders, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers - all sparkly, cutesy, etc.

3. Silly Bandz (ugh)

4. Hair things - again, sparkly, cutesy things

5. Kits to make jewelry

6. An artist kit - markers, paints, pastels, etc.

7. Anything "techy".

What books did you get her?

A book commits suicide every time you watch The Real Housewives...
