Legitimate work from home online jobs?

Does anybody know of any legitimate websites to search for work from home jobs? My daughter has young children and can't afford day care. She has been searching for some work she might be able to do from home, however, all the searching only landed her a big time computer virus. It's very difficult to tell what the safe and legit websites are.

So, I thought I would ask around here. I appreciate any useful info you might have.

alpineaccess.com is legitimate. You can do a search on msn, they had an article about some other companies awhile back. I can't remember any of the names though.

The alpine one, was featured on our local news. I applied and had an interview but another job came up.

It is really hard because a lot of these are SCAMS. I work at an office but my job lets each of us work at home one day per week and also more during snow storms or other occasions as needed.

The people that I know who work from home either all or part of the time either do medical billing or some sort of IT work, although a couple are freelance writers. She may need to look around and see what is available and maybe get a certificate of some sort from school. As far as IT jobs go, if she can do programming or web design she has the potential to earn good money from home. Also, I knew a guy once who worked at home part time and tech support calls were routed to his house certain hours. I think they were people taking some sort of online courses and he would help troubleshoot their issues.

I was just going to suggest this and also:

Many companies including HSN, 1-800-flowers, etc have positions to work at home. For some of the positions you have to live in certain states.

I had a link that had jobs according to states but I don't remember which computers the link is saved on.

LOL! Well, it's not on this one.

I'll look around and come back with more information once I find it.

WOW! This is very valuable info. Thank you very much. I'm anxious to share this with my daughter. She really needs some type of employment, but as mentioned it wouldn't be cost effective to work outside the home at this time. You guys are great. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

It's a work-at-home transcription job, but you have to buy the foot pedal eventually.
