Just wondering....

I do but hardly ever wear it anymore.

I have real leather purses and jackets and FAUX fur coats/jackets, but not real fur jackets.

Nope, but if I did the kittens would be sleeping on them now.

Hi Sunny,

I have a fake fur.. After seeing a video recently of what they do to animals to make those furs, I think I will stick to fake fur. I know I do eat meat so that can be very contradicting but I do not own and probably will never own.

Have a wonderful day.

I do not, but I think my mom did years ago. The weird thing is, where we live, there are several mink farms. I asked the owner if he still did a good business and he said they sell tons to overseas countries.

My grandmother gave me hers awhile back. Actually, it's not a full coat but more like a shoulder cape (can't think of what it's called right this second) and while it's very pretty I have yet to find a place to wear it. So it's hanging in my closet.

Stole..that's what it's called.

No. Don't do fur. I do faux fur though. Aside from the fact these animals are raised only for the fur which I don't like, fur is extremely heavy and my back can't take it.

For those of you that have old furs that you can't bear to get rid---

We had one of my grandma's, probably from the '40s. My mother had 5 little bears made from the fur and the gorgeous lining became a tie and pads for the bear. She gave them to us 4 kids and one for herself.

There are people out there that recreate your memories into something like this. It is a nice way to recycle those still gorgeous furs that alot of people never wear again.

i donated all of mine to the national humane society.

they use them for bedding for newborns who are rejected by their moms.

My mom gave me her mink stole years ago. Wear it very rarely. When she passed away my dad gave me her mink jacket and mink full length coat. I usually wear them a couple times at the holidays when we go to see the Nutcracker or to the club to a function -that's about the only place I'd feel "safe" wearing them! The way we view fur coats, etc. is so different from in the 60's and 70's! My mother LOVED her fur, and I can't part with them - even if they are in the closet or stored.

I have a mink jacket that I have had for over 20 years but haven't worn it in years and most likely never will. Got back before it wasn't OK to wear the real stuff.

I have my mother's mink coat that my GF gave her when she was 17, but I've never worn it...it is the style of the 40's with the quarterback shoulder pads in it...looks like something Barbara Stanwyck would have worn...I just cannot bring myself to part with it...it's about 60 years old...

As far as I know, it's not against the law to wear fur, so it is still ok to wear it......it's a personal decision on whether you want to wear it or not.

I inherited a few, one was an original raccoon coat from the 20s. I donated them to a wildlife rescue that takes care of injured and orphaned animals. They were thrilled to get them and I couldn't be happier that I was able to return them to their rightful owners.

I have several fake furs because I'm a real person.

The only fur coats in my home are the ones worn by my pets. And that is where they belong as far as I am concerned.

I have a sable jacket that I inherited from someone who also inherited it, so it's quite elderly. I've worn it from time to time but not in the last couple of years. I wouldn't go out and buy one, but the one I have is older than I am.

Wasn't there an article the other day saying that many "faux" furs incorporated real dog and cat fur?

Not to mention that often the folks that make faux fur also sell real - e.g. Basso - so I never have understood the superior morality of wearing faux while supporting real furriers.

I am wondering why you would even start a thread like this, sunny. Not something I'd expect from you.

Well, I'm going to be owning the RZ faux Sasquatch vest in a few days! Does that count?
