Opinions on NeatDesk scanner or other scanners?

Does anyone own the NeatDesk scanner? If so, what do you think of it? I want to eliminate a lot of paper clutter (articles I need to keep, plus kids' school papers, etc.). It looks ideal.

I wish QVC would sell this product.

It sounds like a great idea! I got all excited at the commercial so I did some research. But at $399 for the desk model and $199 for the portable version, they are kind of cost prohibitive for me at this time. But if the prices ever go down, I am definitely getting one!

I have the PanDigital 8 by 11 scanner that I purchased here as a TSV.

I bought it primarily to use to archive family photos and documents like birth and death certificates (I do genealogy).

But, it didn't take me long to figure out it can also be used to scan any kind of paperwork to it's own folder; you set up the folders so they fit your needs.

Costs about a quarter of the Neat Desk; I wouldn't make that big of an investment unless I were running a business, maybe not even then.

Like Idacat, I use the Pandigital scanner too, though I have the original, smaller model. I bought it for photos, but I also use it for receipts. Since you mentioned articles and school papers, I think a Pandigital might serve your purposes as well as the NeatDesk scanner, for a lot less money. NeatDesk seems more designed for business applications.

Wheatchick, they're $360 and $177 at Amazon.
