Bob Warden's Sausage and Cheese dip

Started 1327258474.01 in Recipe Swap | Last reply 1327711384.793 by juju24

I was watching QVC In the Kitchen with David and Bob Warden mentioned people are getting the recipe for the Sausage and Cheese dip. I looked - can't find it. Anyone know where it is? Thanks!

I thought he said it was in one of his cookbooks.

When I turned on QVC, I saw David dipping chips into some kind of light-colored dip and talking about how good it was. Is that what it was?

I don't have Bob's but I have one that is so good. If anyone finds Bob's, please post.

Sausage and cheese dip

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork sausage ( you can use Italian or a hot sausage if you like it spicy)
  • 1 (2 pound) loaf processed cheese, cubed (any kind you prefer or mix two favorites together)
  • 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, drained ( I use the Roma’s I grow and add green chilies or my own peppers that I grow) but it’s good with the canned as well.
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Directions

Place ground pork sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt processed cheese.

Drain sausage and mix in a medium bowl with the melted processed cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes with green chile peppers and green onions.

Geez, have we all not learned anything from Paula Deen? I know...everything in moderation but processed cheese food, sausage and fried tortilla chips is pretty much a heart attack on a plate, not to mention disgusting. Yuck!

Go get yourself a box o wine, chill out and keep it moving if this doesn't interest you.

I do exactly like Paula Deen tells everyone. I did before I ever heard of Paula. Everything in moderation is OK. Once in a great while, it's OK. If you don't agree, that's OK as well.

I have never and will never used processed cheese food. It's real cheese or nothing in this house. Sausage is fine, depends on how you cook it. Bake on a rack so all the fat drains away and you have great sausage.

I could go on but what's the point.

LOL, box o wine! Yeah, right, that's what I drink. Sorry if the truth hurts, but that recipe is disgusting. If I'm going to indulge in something fattening, and trust me I do, it's not going to be processed cheese, sausage and tostitos!

One can only hope that one would have been informed about healthy eating "before" the news of Paula's diabetes rocked the world. No? {#emotions_dlg.laugh}.

I have had made Sausage Cheese Dip with a lb of Jimmy Dean sausage cooked and drained, 1 pkg cream cheese, 1 can rotel tomatoes and 2 cups sharp cheddar shredded. Mix together and bake @ 375 for 25 minutes.

I don't seem to see the problem with occasionally indulging in a rich or not the best for you dip or dish. No one eats the stuff that's not good for us all the time. And even if we did its our business. I love cheese all kinds and any recipe that has it, although I don't eat it everyday. I do like Velveeta. Thanks for posting the recipes.

Juju24 said:Totally agree - who eats this c**p - my guess - the overweight women who can't understand why they're fat.

Juju24 this was just rude and offensive to assume that people who eat this are the overweight is just wrong. I'm not overweight thank you very much but, I do and will indulge and that's my choice and none of you're business if you don't like this thread please move on. You have no right to judge other's for what they choose to eat.

I thought this was pretty much a standard for the Super Bowl Game. Or at least every once in a while.

I totally agree. I am a person who understands the term "moderation" and I am not overweight. But I do get sick and tired of some people trying to dictate what other people eat. I'm not going to go through life without ever indulging in something I want to indulge in. Again, moderation is the key.

Many posters on this forum know the antics of lkjhg/8ball/meeoww/lvnlrg/lnguini/juju24. It's all about insulting those who struggle with their weight or money or wear certain brands of clothes or like certain QVC hosts, or children, or those who teach children. There's not so much shock value when you know what to expect from her. It's just the same old meanness over and over.

Words can really hurt. It helps to know that this is just what she does under all the various names. That's why I feel bad for new posters--or those who just don't know her history--when they become the target of her venom.
