Snacks are expected along with cold drinks, wine, and coffee.

There will be 10 people and I need finger food suggestions, please.

Pretty please, with sugar on top.

This one of my favorite appetizers and couldn't be any easier to make. I make the mixture ahead of time and keep in the refrigerator until I am ready to put together and broil.

PARMESAN APPETIZERS

2/3 c. Parmesan cheese
1 c. mayonnaise
Garlic salt
1 bunch diced green onions
1 pkg. mini rye bread rounds or party rye

Combine Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, green onions and garlic salt to taste.
Spread on sliced bread.
Broil until brown.

Serve immediately.

Since you are having wine, how about a cube of summer sausage, a cube of several different cheeses with an olive on top on a decorative toothpick. Also, colossal black olives, stuffed with a piece of pepperoni. Cheese and fruit combo would be nice as well. Homemade pimento cheese on small party bread woud also be an option. For sweet/savory, I sometimes mix white cheddar cheez its, mini pretzels, dry roasted nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds), and M&M's. No cooking required!! I make a wonderful chicken ball and place it on lid of loc and loc lid, and put almonds around entire ball to look like a great big pine cone that always goes over well, if you are interested in the recipe. I also make a wonderful pickled shrimp that I have posted on the board before as well. A fresh veggie tray, with squash sticks, bell pepper slices, baby corn (canned), cucumber sticks, grape tomatoes, and the likes with a spicy ranch dip is also an idea. Also, cream cheese with a little mayo and chopped nuts stuffed into the slices of jarred dried beef also. Hope I at least have your mind thinking things to make/take{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

This is delicious...might be something different to serve.

Apple Dip

1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened

1 cup brown sugar (I use light)

1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 cup nuts, chopped (I use pecans)

sliced apples...both red and green look and taste very good

Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in nuts. Surround dish with the apple slices, or put a dollop on each apple slice.

A few ideas.......deviled eggs are usually a hit along with brownies .....also, take a piece of bologna, spread with cream cheese, put whole dill pickle down center and roll up...slice for individual pieces. I am also going to post (under separate heading) a recipe for Apricot Tarts that is good. Here is a recipe for one of my favorite appetizers and always a hit....popular recipe so you may know of it:

Veggie Squares

1 can crescent rolls (spread on cookie sheet and pinch seams together). Bake 10 minutes at 350.

Blend 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened with 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 pkg. Hidden Valley Dry Ranch Dressing Mix.....set aside.

Chop......(use any favorite veggies).....approx amounts....1/3 cup green onions,

1/3 cup green peppers, 1/3 cup broccoli, 1/3 cup tomatoes, 1/3 cup cauliflower.

Put half of the veggies into the cream cheese mixture....mix well. Spread that onto the baked crescent roll. Sprinkle remaining veggies on top. Sprinkle that with some grated cheese. Cut into squares for serving. Refrigerate til ready to serve.

ONE OTHER IDEA.....individual Petite Cheese Cakes topped with fruit...very good...if you don't have the recipe I can post it.

Mom's dried beef deep

This is SO good, it doesn't sound good from the ingredients, but you will get raves.

3 pkg 8 oz philadelphia cream cheese room temp

3 pkgs chipped dried beef

2 bunches of green onions diced tiny

2 tablespoons accent seasoning

2 tablespoons worstershire sauce

Keep one pkg of the chipped dried beef aside.

Mix all the other ingredients together form into a ball and roll into the remaining dried beef.

Serve at room temp.

You can use a variety of "dunkers" - crackers, carrot sticks, cuke slices, red pepper slices, etc.

Veggie Crescent Pizza

This is best if made the night before.

3 packages crescent rolls

2 (8 oz.) cream cheese (softened)

1 package Hidden Valley Ranch French Onion or reg. dip mix

1/2 cup mayonnaise

CHOPPED VEGGIES: Cucumbers, Mushrooms, Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, Broccoli, etc.

OPTIONAL: Shredded Cheddar Cheese for top

Spread the 3 crescent roll packages onto 2 cookie sheets (or pizza pan). Bake as directed and let cool.

Mix 2 packages cream cheese, 1 package dry Hidden Valley Ranch French Onion or regular dip and the mayonnaise.

After rolls have cooled, spread the dip on. Then place your chopped vegetables on top. Let sit in the refrigerator for at least 1/2 hour (over overnight). Cut into squares or slices. Serve cold.

I posted this earlier in the week, but thought it might be something that could work for your party.

BOURBON DOGS

1 bottle (small) ketchup

1 cup dark brown sugar

1 cup bourbon

1 lg package of cocktail hot dogs (or Little Smokies)

In saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar and bourbon. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 2 hours. Add the cocktail hot dogs (or Little Smokies), to the sauce and heat through. Serve with toothpicks. (I usually serve in a chafing dish or fondue pot, to keep warm).

Toasted Onion Strips

I envelope onion soup mix

1 cup softened butter

12 slices of white bread (or choice)

Mix together the onion soup mix and butter, blend well

Trim crusts off of bread slices, cut into thirds (or whatever shape you want)

Spread the onion and butter mixture on the bread, and bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. I don't have a particular dip that goes with this, but you could probably put something with it if you like.

How about a banana nut bread (either homemade or store bought); slice in small squares and spread with Philadelphia Pineapple cream cheese. I had this the other day for a small girlfriend luncheon & they loved it!

Thanks everyone, good suggestions. I've made two dips ahead so far. One sweet and one for veggies.

Not sure when you need these, but just in case... I've included a couple of recipes below:

I can't remember where I found this recipe, but it sounds interesting and very easy!! :)

APPETIZER BITES

Ingredients

1 pkg. (9 oz.) lunchmeat variety-pak Ham and Turkey

5 Bread 'N Butter or Kosher Dill spears, cut in half lengthwise

1 tub (8 oz.) cream cheese spread

Instructions

Pat meat and pickle spears dry with paper towels. Spread each meat slice with about 1 Tbsp. cream cheese. Top each with 1 pickle slice; roll up. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight. Cut each roll-up into 4 pieces to serve; secure each with toothpick.

**Below is one of our favorite appetizers. People just LOVE these, so make lots!

Ingredients: Small Salami rounds, whipped or softened cream cheese, and (jar) wax peppers

Instructions: Remove wax peppers from jar and slice in half (or smaller, if you prefer)..or you can use whole, if they aren't too large. Pat peppers dry, and set aside. "Smear" a little softened cream cheese on salami round and top with the piece of pepper. Roll up the salame and secure with a toothpick. Enjoy!!

Buon Appetito!!

I love this thread! I am a big fan of appetizers, hors d'ouevres, finger foods, whatever you want to call them.

Someone already posted the one I was going to post - I'll see if I can find others to post later. (I'm a bit under the weather at the moment.) Thanks to the OP for starting this! {#emotions_dlg.sleep}

This hot vadalia onion dip is always a favorite when I take it somewhere. I often get requests to bring it to parties. I have also doubled the recipe for larger groups:

Hot Vadalia Onion Dip

1 cup chopped vadalia onion

1 cup light mayonnaise

1 cup shredded swiss or cheddar cheese (I use 1 1/2 cups because we love cheese)

Mix ingredients thoroughly and pour into ovenproof baking dish. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Can also be microwaved on high for 4-5 minutes. Serve with assorted crackers or breadsticks.
