The Q We Love

How Much Salary do you Think the Hosts Make?

I often wonder how much the hosts make in salaries? I am assuming that the long time ones like MaryBeth Roe, Jane Tracey, David and Lisa Robertson make a lot. I am sure they make a base salary and then bonuses based on the amount they sell each month. What do you all think? I am guessing in the 6 figures for many of them.

Based on previously reported information I would say all but the newest hosts are in the six figure range and the highest paid are in the high six figure range.

Six figures, easy!

That's what I have heard. They do get samples all the time to try, since the hosts mention this quite a bit and I heard a long time ago from a host that they get to order the products at a certain discount. I almost applied for a job there years ago but didn't want to live in PA, too cold and snowy. Now Florida would be a whole different matter... Nothing against PA, it gets cold here too.

That's why they charge so much for S&H = Staff & Hosts

It's a multi billion dollar company... so I would think that the seasoned hosts make over a million dollars easily... If they don't they certainly should.

The hosts many times sell millions of $$$$ of product in one show... SO why wouldn't they make a yearly salary that they earn for the Q in just one show???

JMHO...

I think most of them do in fact have degrees. If you think doing what they do is easy think again! Sure it's not rocket science but do professional sports players all have degrees? You could say that many of them make millions just to play a game....but those games are big businesses!!

I would think it would be depressing knowing that the Q brings in big money if they didn't make at least 100K!

The country's new obscenity is not vulgarity or nudity. It is what these glorified infomercial hosts and professional athletes make. For example, Prince Fielder will make 214 million dollars over nine years, for an average salary of 23 million a year, for a job in which he may or may not hit the ball with less than 50% accuracy. And he will do that in a city called Detroit with the highest unemployment, highest crime rate, and lowest functionimng school system in the country.

I was not implying that sport guys should make that much money either (and I never follow them or watch any game). And please don't assume that I think selling stuff is easy. No job is easy. However, I do think it's depressing knowing that someone can make that much money by simply talking 3 hours about nothing.

When did the hosts stop getting a bonus? I remember when Kathy Levine left, every host commented at her going away party how she always got larger bonuses than anyone else. From they way they talked, the bonus was based on the dollar amount that they sold in their shows.

Once these hosts know the products, get used to "performing" on air and adjust to their schedules...they are on cruise control. Heck, they have a captive audience so it's about one of the most cush sales jobs out there. They don't have to knock on doors for business.

I'm sure there is a big learning curve when one is new, and I'm sure it's quite stressful. But, after about 6 months or so, the job would overall be a piece of cake.

I would love to do their job, and I am sure they make far more than many sales people do who have real pressure and real quotas each month.

I have to go pound the pavement for my sales, and I don't make what Lisa R and the other tenured hosts do. {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Well now from that point of view I do agree with you. It's depressing to see what our society values. You're more valuable if you're a famous sports figure or celebrity of some kind than someone who saves lives and really makes a difference in other people's lives. Unfortunately it's business that determines what a person'salary is worth. Look at the big CEOs on wall street that ran their companies into the ground!! They still were living high on easy street while many lost all of their savings! That's so depressing!!

I think the issue of paying pro athletes ridiculous salaries is an easy fix. If people quit going to games, watching them on TV, and buying stuff with the team's logo there wouldn't be the $$ to pay these people. Easy.
