It's not for me either, but it's going to run its course the same way the automobile did. beatlefan1294104155.38202 PostsRegistered 6/28/2009 It is such a distraction and who cares about those stupid questions? DrPhil1294142831.392175 PostsRegistered 12/2/2008 "I'm not bipolar but biwinning." - Charlie Sheen I am sure there will be some older viewers (I'm talking about 50+) like myself that are totally into all this facebooking, tweeting, etc, but I think for the most part people in this age group (like myself) think this is a totally unneccessary thing to have on a home shopping channel. I think it, (like many other aspects of QVC I have seen change over the past few years) is geared toward the younger demographic (maybe 25-45???) who seem to be into all this electronic communicating stuff (I personally don't need to know what someone is doing every minute of the day, but that's just me!) Facebook may be fine for communicating with friends and family, but it doesn't belong on a home shopping channel! Just my opinion! Between perky Amy cutting to the FB updates and the Style magazine man's constant presence, the TV show (and audience) seemed to get get lost somewhere in the middle... They kept harping that PM Style was 4 hours last night. I turned it off after just a couple, which I never do. The whole thing was just getting on my nerves. Unfortunately, I don't think this will run its course anytime soon. I'm sure the QPTB think this makes the old Q young again... and that it brings in droves of new and younger customers..., which they undoubtedly want. Maybe it does, who knows, given the many people that seem to think living on FB, incessantly texting and walking around with a cell stuck to their ears 24/7 is real communication... I also have no interest in FB or any other social networking site, and it's especially aggravating on a shopping channel. Seemed even more disruptive last night on PMS. It reminds me of Romper Room when they start reading off the names of those supposedly participating with Tweets, etc. DrPhil1294158711.5172175 PostsRegistered 12/2/2008 On 1/4/2011 stevieb said: Unfortunately, I don't think this will run its course anytime soon. It shows how with it they are and how you can "Q" anytime, anyplace. It turns me off, too, but I have a feeling it will be with us permanently. Pretty soon they will get rid of all the hosts over 40 and then I will be gone, gone, gone. I'm 48 and I post on Facebook and Tweet on Twitter. BUT, it has no place on the Q as far as I'm concerned. Instead of having the well paid hosts and hostesses do the job of explaining the products, they're paying them to read stuff written by people on the internet about the product on air or in the case of the insipid morning show, what the poster ate for breakfast, etc. Pitiful, QVC! Very good response - QVC needs hosts that can convince people to buy this stuff and explain it thoroughly, I don't care if Bobbie Sue tweeted that she thinks Linda is her new BFF! Don't give me no hand me down shoes. stevieb1294183660.29711960 PostsRegistered 11/4/2007 They clearly are trying to integrate television with other media and not doing a very good job. They need to realize that QVC is first and foremost TELEVISED shopping. They can put themselves out there on social networks all they want, lots of business are, but they need to find a better formula IF they insist on linking the two... Totally agree!!! We veiwers want to hear specifics on the product being presented, not what some stranger on facebook likes as their favorite cookie! I think the whole thing is just a sales tactic to gain trust/sales. . People will see the hosts as friends instead of sales people. Get rid of all of that and focus on order delivery, quality control and customer service! Like you used to!

Geez, the way people denigrate it, you would think Q was exposing them to p*rn or something... Geez, the way people denigrate it, you would think Q was exposing them to p*rn or something... I don't think people are bashing Facebook in terms of using it to communicate with friends and family. If that's how you like to communicate with your friends and family, there's certainly nothing wrong with that. However, I think what people here are taking issue with is its presence on a home shopping channel. We would just like to see products presented in an informative way and don't need to be Facebook friends, fashion friends, tweeting, or whatever. Let's drown in the delicious ambience of love.”

I see nothing funny about not wanting a host to read an entry from someone we don't know and about whom we don't care. If we want to read tweets, then that's what we would be doing. BJR1294336367.671803 PostsRegistered 8/8/2006 I agree totally- I change the channel so much more that I ever used to with QVC between and that and also the hosts talking over the guests- just rewatched an hour of Mally and the host talked almost the whole time. I want info. and would loe to hear about the product from the presenter. fun is ok but I don't need constant giggles- what happened to QVC's class? BJR.
