Q Did What?

Guaranteed Christmas Delivery?? NOT happening for me!

Started 1293214315.977 in Q Did What? | Last reply 1293566277.79 by Islandgirl7032

Anxiously waiting the delivery of three Clarasonic Mia's...the TSV on 12/18 that was guaranteed for Christmas. QVC used US Mail for this guarantee. I received one. I called customer service and was told to give it until January 3rd??? I have Christmas on Christmas Eve with my family. These were gifts for my daughter, mother in law and sister in law. It's now 1:00pm. I am not feeling Q's slogan "All of the joy, none of the stress". Extreme disappointment in the company and really frustrated the way the rep dismissed my issue. THEY SAID..in every presentation it would be here by Christmas, NOT in 7-10 days. IF so, I wouldn't have ordered them.

We are all in the same boat. The click free I ordered with guaranteed before Christmas delivery is scheduled for 12-30. I don't appreciate the lies and false advertising bunk we were all given. It will be a cold day you know where before they get any more business from me.

I am sorry you ladies are not receiving your items as promised. Perhaps it is the part of the country we live in. I ordered an e-reader on December 22 and it was on my front porch this morning. I have had similar experiences like this one with QVC before.

I did get my princess ring that was guaranteed by X-mas. I received it yesterday. Sorry you did not get your items in time. I've always felt they should not give out those guarantees and feel it's a ploy to get people to buy...

Wish it, dream it. dare it, do it!

Sorry you are having problems. It's possible the delay has nothing to do with QVC but a few packages may be stuck somewhere in transit.

I ordered something on Wednesday, 12/22 afternoon after Christmas delivery cut-off and to my surprise, I received it today.

I got my stuff yesterday that I ordered on Monday. 1 came USPS and one came UPS. Neither one was critical that I get it in time.

Sometimes the Q doesn't make sense - you spend 100's of dollars on a piece of jewelry and they chance it sending it regular mail - then I bought a 19.95 callous remover and they shipped it UPS Blue Express........

HSN is just as bad - last weekend I bought a pair of earrings - guaranteed Christmas delivery - they sent it regular mail with an estimated delivery date of 12/29...if they had sent it UPS it would have gotten here.

I too did not receive my orders for Christmas. There are also a lack of correct tracking numbers on the website. I do most of my shopping through the year with QVC, guess its time to move on.

I also did not receive my "Guaranteed by Christmas" TSV Samsung Camcorder. It is now Dec 26. I am very tempted to return it as soon as I get it. Very disappointing.

I'm sorry to hear of all the people who didn't receive their gifts from QVC that were "guaranteed by Christmas." That isn't right when you place your trust in their word that your presents will be under the tree on Christmas eve/morning.

I had the opposite experience with Sierra Trading Post. I placed a fairly large order and didn't pay for expedited shipping so knew it might not make it on Christmas Eve. Sierra upgraded it to UPS 2 day shipping at no charge to me so it would make it by Christmas. I thought that was nice of them. Things like that (and their six month return policy) help earn my business.

I didn't get my guaranteed order either. The EDD was 12-24-10. I ordered it on the 20th. I should have known better.

I remember many posts about this same topic last year.

I am especially annoyed that some of my items shipped US Mail ... now I can't even track them. And the postage was very high. Should have come UPS.

Not to be unsympathetic, but there were many, many posts in the past few weeks warning that delivery for Christmas should NOT be counted on. This happens every year, and several of us tried to put the word out so people would not be disappointed.

The fact is that there is nothing to hold QVC to this "guarantee". There are too many variables they can blame, so their guarantee means nothing. It's unfair, but it's true.

I'm sorry for all of you who believed QVC. I don't blame you - If I didn't know of so many people's experiences every year at this time, I would have believed them too. I generally like QVC, but I don't trust them. QVC should be concerned about people not trusting them, especially in this economy. Happy Holidays to all, and don't let QVC take away any of the joy! QVC has no right to guarantee delivery when they have no idea if the item will actually arrive on time. They mislead their customers when they know very well that they can blame the weather, the carrier, whatever they want. People believe they will have what they ordered by Christmas because QVC is telling them that they will. It's deliberately deceiving.

I think they should drop this whole "guaranteed delivery by Christmas". It means nothing, and they know it. It's all about selling, and I think some of us get in trouble when we forget that. They're in business to sell, whether or not they knowlingly mislead their customers.

I ordered items on December 17 with guaranteed delivery by Christmas.....didn't arrive. I agree they need to stop saying they "guarantee delivery by Christmas" when they really can't. We haven't had bad weather as in years past, but this does seem to be a habit with QVC. I just won't order anything I need again for Christmas a week or so out!!

The TSV Clarisonic Mia I ordered for DD on the 18th didn't arrive either and the tracking shows no movement beyond "agent pickup" (mine was UPS) and now this item is no longer available.

I had two opposite experiences with two different items that I ordered on 12/19/2010 - both with guaranteed delivery by 12/24/2010. The first order was for some Candle Impression candles - they arrived on 12/21/2010!!

The second order (also on 12/19/2010) was for some Nature's Way Hot/Cold heating wraps - they did not make the delivery by 12/24/2010 - I expect they will be delivered on 12/26/2010 since the tracking indicates they are at a UPS facility about an hour away.

I was pleased that they were so fast with the first delivery but extremely disappointed that the second set of items did not arrive in time for our family's Christmas celebration. I planned on including these items in each family's gift basket and would have purchased something else if I had realized that the guaranteed delivery was not truly guaranteed.

I have been very pleased with QVC's customer service in the past and this was my first disappointment. I feel QVC should not use the word guarantee if they truly can't guarantee delivery on a certain date. I did notice that these items did not actually get shipped until 12/22/2010. It would have been nice to receive an e-mail if there was a problem with my order that would indicate that the order would not make it in time.

Enough said - part of this is probably my fault for ordering so close to Christmas!

It seems to me that their statement of "guaranteed delivery by Christmas", among the various other comments that they make off hand during presentations, could be determined to be illegal. They seem to fall short of the promise relatively often. Surely there is a place to complain about it. FTC or FCC?

I think their 'guarantee' boils down to QVC guaranteeing the item will leave their warehouse by a time that it would be delivered by the 24th using whatever delivery means they are using (regular, overnight, expedited, etc) - barring any glitches in the USPS or UPS system. Once the item leaves their hands, they really have no control over a delay due to weather, lack of someone doing their job, or whatever other factor may come into the equation. However, I agree that they do not present it in that light, but rather as an asbolute fact. For those who did not receive their guaranteed items in time, does the Q give any concession like refunding shipping and handling?

Frankly, no matter what they say, I think it is unwise to depend on such a 'guarantee' for an item that you absolutely must have in your possession by the 24th, if you order less than 2 weeks in advance.

Interestingly, I ordered an item for myself on the 18th; it was NOT an on-air item that came with a guaranteed delivery by Christmas; the EDD on my order status was 12/30 - not a problem. Well, the item showed up, in the mail, on the 22nd. So go figure!!

You all complain about this every year. You should know by now not everyone is going to receive their package by Christmas Eve, so plan ahead, either pay more for shipping and handling, or have another present just in case the one from the Q don't show up. Don't trust what anyone says.

With much respect, I have not complained about this in the past...because I have never put myself in this position and for that...I will have to take note and remember in the future that someone's word means nothing this day and time. When you are told over and over and over again that your item will be delivered by a certain date and not at an additional charge, one would think that the situation would NOT merit paying more. I am only hoping that BY "complaining" that other's don't have to deal with the same frustration and embarrassment that I had....not to mention that I will have to pay additionally to have my gift now re-routed because of their lack of integrity in shipping with a realiable carrier. I will own this faux paux but I will NOT ever again the sales pitch of this company. MY BAD!

I've shopped QVC for years and always received last-minute gifts on time or early...except this year. I order 4 prs of the Honora pearl earrings on 12/18 as gifts. 3 prs shipped 1st class mail on 12/22 and have not yet arrived and one pr (available when I ordered it) is now marked backorder. I had to purchase last minute gift slips on-line (certainly not from QVC). I live less than 2 hrs away from QVC! I've learned my lesson. It's back to the malls for me or purchasing from more dependable on-line merchants. Most of my shopping was done early, a good deal of it from QVC. I'm so furious about the false promises and the embarrassment of having to hand someone a gift slip printed from my computer, that I'm ready to see what over vendors or stores have to offer rather than spending so much at QVC. The service is just not what it once was.
