If you've never made these cookies, then rush to the kitchen right now! Your family will love you!

While I've made Paula's Ooey Gooey cake variations for years--and Chess Cake even beore that--I wasn't aware of the cookie version until yesterday. I used Duncan Hines Butter Golden mix and was so pleased with the results. Will try the chocolate--and maybe strawberry and lemon--today and share with the caring staff at my FIL's nursing home.

Question: Because the recipe contains cream cheese (I substituted reduced-fat with success), can the cookies be frozen? When I Googled that question, I got both yes and no answers.

TIA for your advice.

I read the recipe, and the problem that I would see in freezing it, is that it has been rolled in powdered sugar........Maybe take it to the point of rolling into a ball, then freeze them, and then take out what you want, and roll in sugar and bake as usual....but...........others may have another and better answer{#emotions_dlg.confused1} Anyone....

The recipe doesn't call for anything with her name on it.

{#emotions_dlg.confused1}Scammer? We are talking about recipes and not products. She does have good recipes. Those butter cakes alone are divine. Cookies? Gotta check this out.

I have one of those golden butter cake mixes in my kitchen, and all the other ingredients too. Going to make these tomorrow, as part of my Christmas baking. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. I don't care for a lot of the things she has her name on (ham, especially), but her recipes are great, as a rule, and perfect for special occasions. Plus they keep the butter industry solvent...what more can you ask? LOL LOL
