Cake Balls Recipe by Laura Weathers on In The Kitchen with David 9-18-11

did anyone catch the recipe Laura Weathers spoke of while demonstrating the kitchen aid food processor on In The Kitchen w/David today? I turned on at the end of the presentation and I think she made cake balls. I've had these before and want to make them over the upcoming holidays!

Oh, I love cake balls!

I didn't see the presentation, but you can google cake balls or do a search on one of the cooking sites and you will find the recipe.

Bake cake as directed on box. Let cake cool in pan, in large bowl take cake in sections & crumble finely. Add 3/4 can of frosting & mix well, mixture will be moist. You can scoop mix with a melon scoop or with a spoon to form balls. Place balls on wax paper & put into freezer to chill for 30 min - 1 hr. Once chilled, remove balls & dip in melted chocolate bark & decorate.....I have found in order to keep the cake balls chilled, I only remove a few at a time while decorating. If the balls get too warm, the cake mixture will fall apart in the chocolate when you go to dip them.

I recently read a recipe for using red velvet cake and cream cheese icing, then cover with whatever coating you want.................. I think I saw it on The Pioneer Woman website.......
