Is Dominique Dinouart the only artist they are going to show from Taxco Traditions now? I like some of her pieces, but many of them are too geometric and asymetrical for me. I hope they are not discontinuing the other jewelry makers from Taxco that they used to showcase. This is one of my favorite silver collections on QVC and they don't feature if often enough for me. I did buy the elongated mother of pearl ring - all those rings are lovely.
I guess Dominique got the contract.
I preferred this jewelry line before, when everything was a lot cheaper.
You can find nice, heavy Taxco jewelry on ebay.

This recession has hit the jewelry business hard. But, I find it interesting that the host are still talking about the high price of metals when in fact they have come down...never hear that do ya???

Awesome!! . I better see some deals on Silver Day March 2nd, I think it is.
I too miss picking up earrings for about $20. Now it is more like $60.
There were some really nice flower Taxco earrings in this mornings clearance show. #J155387.
It is hard to justify buying when I have bought Taxco earrings on clearance for $12.
Tdog you are going to love that elongated ring!! It is gorgous. I have it in amber. It is long but very comfortable. I was dying to get it in carnelian. Jill said several times it was in carnelian but it was not. . When this ring first came out I paid about $32. It is hard to rebuy this same ring for so much more.

Interesting about the platinum. Maybe QVC will bring that back. I wasn't smart enough to get a piece the first time around.
I used to really like the Taxco shows when the work of various local designers and artists was featured. I dislike Dinouart's designs and think they're extremely overpriced. There also seem to be several quality control issues according to some of the reviews. I thought the Taxco shows used to be really fun and now they're just boring. It really took something away when Dinouart started to be featured as the exclusive designer for this line.
It bugs me a little that they feauture Taxco jewelry which should showcase Mexican designers and craftspeople but they instead feature and American woman who probably has the native people making her designs. Why is she the chosen representative for Taxco?
